Due for release on January 16th. New Mizuno MP003 driver with two adjustable? weights - one in the heel and one in the toe. 420cc, square face, with a new Mizuno Quad 6 "quad-axial" shaft (as opposed to Fuji Triax engine?). I'm sure Chris will supply more details once available.

Certainly looks like a quality product. 16 January is probably going to take a while to roll round.

This looks very promising, I was never big on Mizuno woods until the UX2 which IMO could be the best hybrid I have ever hit. I cant wait to hit the MP003 driver and fairway woods. These will actually be available with square faces in the 8.5 loft, .5 closed in 9.5 and 1 degree closed in 10.5. The release date is Jan 16th (Japan Only ) for the 9.5 in stiff version and there will also be a USGA conforming model as well.

There are two weight plugs one on the heel and one on the toe side, I am not sure if they are wrench adjustable yet. The face is made of a very cool new material mizuno is boasting about called (Ti-15V-6Cr-4A.I. Artificial Intelligence) The driver head volume is 420cc's and the crown is made of a light weight titanium, not carbon.

There will also be a new fairway wood with the same technology, here is the image:

The material is within the Beta Titanium Alloys family (the other members are: alpha and alpha beta). Beta or near beta alloys are: fully heat treatable, weldable, capable of high strengths, possess good creep resistance up to intermediate temperature, and excellent formability can be expected in the beta alloys in the solution treated condition

Beta-type alloys have good combinations of properties in sheet, as fasteners and are ideal for sporing applications. Some alloys offer uniform property levels through heavy sections.

The higher alloy content of beta alloys increases the density of beta alloys typically by 7-10% compared to Ti6Al4V.

The typical beta titanium alloys used in golf club face are: 15V-3Cr-3Al-3Sn titanium, 15Mo-5Zr-3Al titanium, 13V-11Cr-3Al titanium, and 15V-6Cr-4Al titanium, which have high strength and can be formed thin (high C.O.R.!).

Hi Everyone,

The driver is going to be available at the PGA show in Jan. here in the U.S., but we all think it won't be release here until Aug. The weights are adjustable. They won't tell us if the crown is carbon or Ti. Shaft variants are as they are for the MX-500, just check out the web-site. They tell us it is not a carbob toe, as it is a MP driver. By the way, this is the first that I heard of the toe being closed according to lofts(not standard MP practice). I'll find out later. FW is re-named F-50 from what we've been told. Could be wrong.
