Posted February 9, 200618 yr comment_115070 This is the final spec retail iron that G-Field will release as their NC-1 worldwide. I have had these in the bag for a couple months already and I must say they are gamers. The most distinctive attribute is its very soft feel at impact due to 1020. They are indeed forgiving equal to the Original NC-1 and NC-1 handmades yet easier to work. There are shots I can do with the G-Field version that the Gauge model didn't have, like the low 3 iron draw when troubled drives leave me left on long holes.
February 9, 200618 yr comment_115071 prettiest thing i have seen all morning, got to love being a student and studying all night, thanks for the pics
February 9, 200618 yr comment_115074 Toshman, agreed on all accounts, its pretty late here in Australia. Chris, can you comment on the effect of the minimal offset... I've never been fussed about it one way or the other (I used to be able to work the ball with or without it) , but I remember you and Ari talking about potential benefits of this type of set-up in wedges, and wanted to know if you thought the minimal offset contributed to the added versatility of this new version of the NC-1. Also, does it have a slightly bevelled/rolled leading edge? Either way, thanks for the pics!
February 9, 200618 yr comment_115075 these look identical to my gauge handmades, accept for the offset.....yum! beautiful set!!!!! Edited February 9, 200618 yr by plus1
February 9, 200618 yr comment_115084 My heads came yesterday, and I am thrilled to hear Chris' input. I will try to snap some detailed pics tonight. I did do a quick side by side w/ the original Gauge FCB and my current iron, the Z101. The Z has a slightly smaller topline, and overall is less wide (not quite 1/8"). Next to the Gauge FCB, the quality of the G-Field looks much crisper. Some of that is the hard lines of the NC1, whereas the FCB has more rounded edges. I can't wait to hit them. With Tour Concepts installed by Joe, these will be the best irons I have ever hit.
February 9, 200618 yr Author comment_115094 Availability Chris? And are they made in Japan? I have a couple sets available and ready to ship, these irons are made by Endo in Thailand.

I've hit mine (shafted with NSPRO 950 SR flex) a couple of times on the range. The feeling at impact is (to borrow a worn out cliche) INCREDIBLE. Very soft feel, good trajectory. Are not the MOST forgiving club but I'm a crappy golfer who hasn't played in awhile and still hit alot of good shots. Plus1, are you still interested in the Tourstage driver?
March 7, 200618 yr comment_116603 lennie, do the nippons in your opinion feel as solid in the gauge heads as the px did? i found the px were super solid in the gauge heads, whereas the nippons if anything felt slightly tinny! how are you finding them

Only two practice sessions though. The PX HL probably would have been a better shaft for me, but they weren't out at the time.
