Only problem is I must sell them at 2999.00. ( includes any available steel shaft ) Whats the difference? For starters the feel is a bit different due to the Japanese Brushed Satin finish instead of being done in China. The leading edge has been killed as well as some meat removed from the upper toe area of the short irons. The neck area has also been smoothed out a touch and the amount of space below the first score line has been decreased. Not really any big differences that the untrained eye would detect but more subtle adjustments that wouldn't effect performance in a negative way. One run came from Endo 1020, the next from Dynamix 1020 and the Tour Use from Himeji 1021. I have hit them all. My findings are that the milling marks, finish, shaft and grip play a bigger role in regards to the sensation at impact than location of foundry. That contradicts what I have focused on in the last 3 years about Japanese forgings feeling better. I have hit The G-Field NC-1s with no milling marks in the cavity and they don't feel half as good as with the marks. A very interesting comparison that I just did was between two identical sets of china forged NC-1s, one with a Japanese finish the other with the dynamix finish. both were very sweet but the Japan finish just felt more together and uniform. Keep in mind these are differences that the majority of TSGers wouldn't notice even if they looked for them. Its really splitting thin hairs. I'd have to hire someone to guard those if I were to leave them outside the clubhouse. Interesting change in thinking about the forgings, I'm sure the hairs your splitting would be microscopic to me. plus1 Posted March 11, 2006 Report Share Posted March 11, 2006 chris is there ,uch of a difference in the forgings from the 2 china companies? ie if you were to hit a set of both, could you distinguish?
