dkats
Looks great! Can't wait for the review. I'm thinking about the 21 deg.
bumpNrun24
OH MAN!!!!!!! That would complete the X set up perfectly. Looks like a solid SOB! Just one more thing to get before I get done with deployment. Match it with a GD UT-95 and that thing will be a cannon.

FAQ
I like others await your review!! :tsg_smilie_cool: Here's a report from zerohandy... Report: I have U4 (23") w/stock shaft(Maybe NS PRO UT). I played it yesterday and used 2 times. First was tee shot. I hit it lightly intended to hit off the ball around 200 yrd, but failed... I hit it 240yrd... he..he...Secondary, at the 18th hole (par 5, 564yard) i hit off the ball over 300 yard with my X-Drive 405. The remaining is only 260. I tried spoon but did fatshot. I rolled only 40yard and the ball sit in the deep rough. I picked up X-UT and hit the ball verrrrry clearly. My X-01 ball fly and sit beside the pin within 5m. The trajectroy made by X-UT was not so high. It was a little bit of fade. I'm falling in love with my baby..X-UT. It will sit for a long time in my bag. +TourSpecGolfer
Its been in my bag for a while now with the steel NS shaft, but that shaft has gotta go, the ball flight is just too low so im going to swap it out with either a UT-85 or the Ozik Hybrid Altus. Feel is very good and solid at impact, not as easy or long as the GFT UT though.
+TourSpecGolfer
Anyone else give this players UT a try?
gocchin
Yes sir, I got one from you and it is very easy to hit and trajectory is a low piercing bullet. As you said it's not as long as the GFT UT but looks to be a player in the wind as my GFT gets higher. Difficult to hook left too... as Zero said it's a fade club. K2_2
I haven't tried another utility since I hit one of these... I think it is that good. Trajectory is piercing, distance is almost scary, and (knock on wood here) I think it is pretty forgiving for a 'player's' utility. Just a quick edit: Chris, do you or Gochin know anything about the stock graphite shaft in the X-UT? I love the feel and trajectory it produces. It seems like a mid/high or close to a high bend point shaft, yet the feel is really smooth. Now, where can I find an iron shaft to match... I got a Tourstage pull in stiff from a VIQ MX for free with shipping if you want. Tourstage makes decent stock shafts, they all feel very similar IMO. It's a mid kicking low torque shaft, part of Tourstages TSU line, even some tour players use the shaft. One of the reasons why people find it easy to hit is probably cause the stock shafts are shorter in length than some of the other hybrids out there, especially non JDM ones. For example the X-UT 21* is 39" in length while my 21* Fourteen UT-106 stock length is 40.5" but more like close to 41". The X-UT is a favorite of several Tourstage pros.... K2_2
Mid kick... well I learned something new! Maybe the head design, plus shorter length helps out with the great trajectory. Edited April 18, 2007 by K2_2
languidcrane
I have been playing this club for awhile now. I like everything about it really. Mine actually sets up a little open which I love. It is the 19* with a rombax prototype hybrid shaft. It feels so solid when struck well, and distance is on par with just about any hybrid. As the above posters have noted it does take the left side out of play which is what I was looking for. It is the best hybrid I have played to date . shinichi808
i love my x-ut's. i picked up the u2 19* last summer and its probably the only club that didn't change over the course of the year... . just recently though i picked up the u1 17* and u3 21*...so i dropped the 19* u2. these club are awesome...i play the u3 as a 3 iron replacement...which i can hit higher and farther. and the u1 is like a driving iron...high flight with a lot of length. couldn't be happier with these clubs...i especially like the sound though, its like a mute "tink" sound. Blader-X
A hybrid which takes the left side out of play is exactly what I need, and I like TourStage equipment, I just can't get over the "box-like" look to this club. I prefer the corners more rounded off. Its shape reminds me of the Sonartec MD. Had one of those and gave it a good go, but I just couldn't get past the way it looked. For those playing the X-UT and who have played the MD, are they that similar to what I've described? I know sometimes pics can be a little misleading. Being a TourStage, its definitely a quality club.
gocchin
I know what you mean B, that shape head was not my cup of tea either. Like you I like the GFT UT's. But once you square up and hit the ball, fact is the club performs. Hits bullets and is probably your kind of club.

If it does like I'm hoping and planning won't need to worry about the utilities. But then again, you never know when that "club ho" impulse jumps out and bites you!! Vincenti
Have one in my bag, UT 3W. It's amazing and has saved me from the Anger of God of Golf. It's a face club, anyway it's better than Sonartec md. Md rolls and rolls, I can't control my shot with that.
Blader-X
I know this club has been out for some time now, but I just recently put it in my bag and wanted to share my opinions on it. I must say I have been very happy with the performance of the this club. I have the 17 degree. Ball flight is very strong and the feel is premium, but what else would one expect from TourStage. I was at first hesitant about the shape/looks of it, but having a square face angle and no offset really does it for me. Deep gloss black finish really sets up to the ball well. Even though its shape is very similar to the Sonartec MD, because it has no offset, it looks so much better to my eye. The feel easily surpasses that of the Sonartec. I was a big fan of the TRC's but not at all the MD line. The shaft is just the stock steel shaft from Nippon Shaft but I'm very surprised with how well it feels. I had thought I might put in a Graphite Design UT-95, but this steel shaft seems to be serving me very nicely so I'll keep that way for now. All in all I'm very happy with this club. Its much more useful to me than the Epon 7 wood I had in the bag, but then again, I had never used a 7 wood and it could be that maybe I didn't give that club enough time. Still, though, I'm glad to have put a strong utility back into the bag. I think the best thing about it (in my game) is that I'm able to keep it from going left. Going left was a big problem for me when I had a G-Field utility in the bag but this club matches my swing characteristics much better. It didn't take long at all for me to feel very confident using this club.
