REVIEWS: Japanese R7 Forged limited Edition

I have had a set now for a couple of weeks with 3 rounds of golf and some range time. Quite honestly I was a little leary of buying these because of the price, but you only go around in life once, so I decided to give them a chance. Boy, am I glad that I did. IMHO these are the pinnacle of irons. Wonderful feel, very good forgivens and you can hit a variety of shots with them.

I think they have the feel of the MP67s and forgiveness of the Ping I5s.

I have learned never-to-say-never, but don't see my self with a different set of irons in a very long time. If these get really hard to acquire, I might even have to consider getting a set of backups.

Aloha

Have you compared them to the R7 TP Irons?

My opinion is the R7 Forged irons are the best irons I've ever played..period

Workable, fairly easy to hit, forgiving, feel you can only imagine..excellent distance control..

I don't know where these are forged and really don't care.. The feel is incredible!!

Playable from any type lie or ground surface for me..

These not only rank with some of the best Tour Issue Miura Forged TaylorMade irons I've played--they're better overall in every aspect IMO

Theres only 1 set I've hit that could give these a run for the bag--Epon Type J's...But I didn't play them to give them a chance.... They came and went thru the revolving door too fast

The door stopped when the R7 Forged hit the bag :tsg_smilie_cool:

I have Black Golds in my set.

I did buy a set of the R7 TP. A really nice set of irons, but didn't qite compare going head-to-head with the R7 Forged. They are probably a little more forgiving and feel pretty good for a cast club, but Iam just loving the R7 forged.
