Well gents I am glad to hear someone can get along with a mallet. I for one cannot. I tried the Monza for quite a few months and the weight of it really threw my stroke off so I got my Laguna 2 back out and things have been golden every since. I needed something lighter than the monza. I played 36 today...shot 78 from the whites on the first 18 (6068 yds) and then shot 78 (6710 yds) from the blues. Could have played a lot better but tyhe right elbow is a little sore from the other day. I washed, used a clay bar, and waxed my car. Took about 4-5 hours. It looks good though and it feels like glass. Good luck in your searches for putters. Speaking of searches...are we going to have to send out a search party for Andy?

I figured out my putting woes!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've been watching the stinking putter head instead of the ball..what a maroon(*shake head at intentional mispelling*) soon as I look at the ball throughout the swing..Viola' not even a semblence of a three putt and I started dropping everything inside 10ft...to think it was so easy...

Spent all day at an infomercial shoot on Butler National Golf Club in Oak Brook IL, a Chicago suburb. What a production one of those is..got to meet Peter Kostis and Gary McCord and hit their clubs. Kostis is a Hobbit so his clubs are really short but are those Titlest 735's he carries are absolutely the most solid club I've hit in ages. He also had a set of 695cb delivered in the afternoon. Titleist wouldn't tell him what the new technology is in those until he gives them his feedback. Those weren't nearly as solid as the 735's. McCord is just a very funny man who plays the Aldila iron shafts in XS and has the R7 driver and fairway woods. Interestingly he uses Aldila NVS in S flex in the R7 fairway. His magnetic R7 driver headcover has a tendency to pull one or two irons out with it because of the strength of the magnet. He wisecracked about using it to collect jewelery from gallery members at some point in the future!

At the end of the day the two of them were on the range waiting to shoot a scene hitting iron shots with the clubhead reversed and the toe pointing down, this is hard to describe, they hit shots with the back of the clubhead. I couldn't believe it ..they hit draws, fades, and straight shots better than I hit most shots on my best day..

McCord was talking about a Taliban golfer who had a "hell of a bunker game. Of course his whole f**king county is a sand trap" so it's not a surprise. The guy is really really a hoot. What a really great experience I had and I would highly recommend the training aid, The Path Pro, the product which was being touted. It really can help with a wide variety of swing faults.

Shoe it sounds like you had a blast at the infomercial. I agree with Pete that you are going to have to let us know when it airs so we can recognize you. I think that watching the club and not the ball when I was putting with the Monza was my problem also and the fact that I take the putter back way too far on the backswing but it works for me and my Laguna 2 so I am not changing anything....although I might send the putter to Cameron to be refinished.

I can't wait to catch the infomercial. We have a budding star on our hands

I'm totally bummed that I'm not going to be able to hit my new sticks yet. Major depression is starting to set in. Maybe if it cools off one afternoon this weekend I'll be able to sneak out.

Thanks guys!

The program will be on in September sometime and run into December. I'll be sure to let you know when and how to pick me out. No bragging but I'm a ham from the get go and really did have a blast...if they show any of the outtakes you'll be laughing your asses off.

Worked some more tonight on my putting because we actually had 2 inches of rain today for the first time in a month so I couldn't play..new drill I tried was to hit putts one handed just to get a feel for the putterhead...helped a lot..especially on short putts...

Aww come on Lance....don't you know it is just a dry heat out there. It really doesn't feel that hot.

Guys I am off to Florida again in the morning...woohoo...the land of dial up so I do not know how much I will be on. Hope everyone has a great weekend.

115 is hot regardless of the humidity, dry heat my ass :spit: It is storming tonight though. Baby showers galore this weekend for the little lady so I'm going be kicking it on the couch big time. It's sad when you don't even want to go out and try to score anymore.

I snuck in 18 this morning while the weather was borderline nasty. It stormed like nobody'd business around three this morning and was pretty nasty until 10ish. Got to the course at 10:45 and got in a solid 18 in 2:30. Gotta love the private clubs.

Anyways, it was the first round with the X-Tours. Shot a really smooth 80 which ain't bad for TPC. I've never been able to figure out the greens there. They are waaay in my kitchen. Shot a 38 on the front and absolutely folded like a lawn chair on 16-18, I went double-double-bogey. You can't say I'm not a closer :blackeye: Pulled drive on 16 right into the brush, one in the water on 17 and a smooth 3 putt on 18. The new sticks performed admirably, the only complaint I had with them was the sole was a bit big when going at the ball out of the wet rough. Luckily, we don't have to deal with wet rough too frequently out here.

The J-33R was another solid addition to the bag. I really loved the way the head felt. I'm still not going to be singing the praises of the NV-65. I'm just not a fan of the shaft. I might have to find a nice NV-75 somewhere or get my hands on another Accra T70.

The last addition was the two ball white steel. I have to give it a so-so grade. I also got a DFX two ball that I think may win the battle of the two balls.

I got out for a little golf Sunday as well. Played a nice course around here called Golden Oaks. It is the first substantial course I have played up here, and it kicked my @ss by the end of the day.

It was only my buddy Dave and myself so we got set up with an older couple, which didn't work out too good for anyone. My buddy hasn't been playing too long and was real nervous about playing with strangers for the first couple holes and by the time he got used to them he was so frustrated with his game that there was no salvaging the day. The gentleman we played with struggled off the tee all day and I think it was my fault. It seemed like he was really lashing at the ball to try to keep up with me.

I had a quick chipping lesson the other day and it really helped me out. Well I still need to work on it but it didn't get me into the trouble I usually find myself. I managed to survive the front with out any dubs, but also no birds. Putts weren't dropping, but the greens were tough. We were following a club scramble and the greens were soft so by the time we got to them they looked like the surface of the moon… the ball marks were repaired properly but these guys must have been really going after some pins because o fthe multitude of marks within 20ft of the hole.

On the back nine I fell apart. Heat, beer, lack of food, first time playing 18 in a year all played their roll I am sure. I was only 2 strokes worse on the back but it was a fight

All in all it was a great day to be on a golf course, especially on as pretty as Golden Oaks… now I just can’t wait to get my vengence.

They have a pretty decent deal for memberships there... $1300 unlimited weekday, $2300 ulimited. I think I might wait till next year to see if I can justify it as a cost saving opertunity.

Pete...don't get rid of the 1.5. You might come to love her again someday. Glad to hear the RedX is working for you. I got 4 holes in today before I saw lightning and called it quits. Did not hear the first thunder. What was funny as the skies were darkening and becoming louder there where still people coming in and teeing off. Better them than me.

It's stormed pretty hard here this afternoon as well. The rain was nice to get though. Got a round scheduled for Saturday at Rio Secco, this will be my first time to play out there so I'm pretty excited. Check out the new bag pics on wrx, you can even see the rare occurence of rain in the desert.

Just stopped in to say hi !

Hope all is well - with this drought I cannot get motivated to play more than once a week. Have not been to the range in at least a month. Spending alot of time with friends and family on the beach.

Lance- posted at WRX - nice bag - would like info on the PX vs. the TT's.

Pete - good to see you are back on a steady basis - keep the 1.5 - I switch back to my Newp. 2 from my Guage mallet all the time.

Alan - hope all is well down South.

i played 18 yesterday. i had 7 1-putts and 11 2-putts. finished with 4 straight 1-putts. including two from about 15 feet. shot 79. only hit 6/14 fairways. and 6/18 greens. chipping was on and my iron play wasnt too bad. my driving was alright as well. i just need to work on getting more speed through the ball to get me a little more distance. ad i just need to get used to setting the proper tee height with my smaller headed driver. couple times i set the height right and hit a nice ball. but couple others i hit them really low and they didnt travel s far. maybe if i go to a regular flex shaft or something that loads proerly wt the right time itll give me more distance. i dunno. but i play my nike 3-wood with an x-stiff shaft and i hit that straight and long.

I know with my 983K if the ground is firm I use a regular size (old school) tee inserted so that it is barely in the ground. I was using long tees but I would break one of every tee box because of how far I would have to stick them in. Now I can go a hole round without breaking a tee because it just flies out of the ground.

I also have been known to tee the ball way down and hit the 983K into strong winds. It will roll out to about 220 on a flat fairway. I hit all my clubs very high so its my only weapon on a tee shot into a wind.

well a couple times i carried it 260. but bc the fairways were kind of soft, it didnt roll out much. im going to try the 2-3/8" tee i think it is, the smaller one and do what u did and see what happens. and then maybe ill just work on right before impact to accelerate a bit more. hopefully i can get some more distance. bc im not really happy with drivers. i cant guarentee myself a 265-270 yard drive evertime. they go from 240-285 every time. its weird. im never in the same area of distance. like always being 265-275 off the tee.

You mean you don't get excited about playing in 90*+ temps Andy? Actually the beach is the best idea, took 2 of my kids there Monday.

Played 9 yesterday...7 pars for a smooth 41; that's whats happens when you hit one in the water and the next OB. That 9 on the card sure is delightful.

I was having trouble with tee height yesterday too, but I think it's more a swing issue than anything as I felt like I was getting a little steep. Happens when I don't play very much.

Watched a little of the last round of the Buick on Sunday..I really really want one of those putters VJ was using.

Hope everyone has a good week
