AKFLY
Mac - appreciate the offer but do not have two dimes to rub together, I have made an effort to get out - even if it is twilight on the local dog track. Even managed some low numbers for a hack like me. Hit the chat room but some knuckle head keeps logging in as a guest.
Alcap26
I feel like I have gone to a family reunion with all of you guys posting in here this week. Mike I hope that beeper goes off soon and you can get better. I have been pretty busy with work and have squeezed in a couple of rounds. I actually played 18 yesterday in 1 hour and 50 minutes. It was great. Got 32 holes in about 4 hours after I paired up with a buddy for the last 14 holes. Lance I think you have surpassed Andy as the uber-ho of the bunch. Guys have a great weekend. Alcap26
Guys I just thought I would share with you all that I shot my career low round yesterday. I shot 72...3 birdies, one double, one bogey and the rest pars. The double came on a par three that I have not hit it into the water in a year. Oh well I was very happy. Also in the same round I got to witness something I thought I would never see. One of my playing partners got a hole in one on a par 4. Do you call it a hole in one or a double eagle? Either way it was sweet.
AKFLY
Way to go Allen !   Must be those quality built irons. :smile2:
chainsaw
Dang, I'm jealous! I can't even score a hole in one on a par 3. My biggest claim to fame is holing out for eagle once. On a side note, I think the irons are set but the putter could become a revolving door. I've never putted so poorly in my life, I'm actually considering going belly. Anything would improve what I've got going now.
Alcap26
Yes Andy I think it was the quality made irons. I was thinking about extending the Cobras but after the last few rounds with the 32's the cobras are just going to sit here. I have hit the mp60 and it feels nice and sets up well. I might order a 2 iron and 4 iron in them. Lance I am jealous also since I hit the green also and had about a 15 foot eagle putt...missed it and got birdie...big whoop when someone holes out for a 1. I am thinking of getting a bridgestone 460 with either an aldila nv65x or nv75s. I am having to hold back some and delay release to stay away from the left side. I guess the cheaper route would be just to put a new shaft in my head. Hmmm
AKFLY
Well I just got back from one of my better rounds of the year - shot 1 over on the back side after posting a piss poor score of 8 over on the front. Grant it I am only an 11 handi - but was very happy having back to back birdies for the first time and three birdies in the entire round an all time best for me. Pumbed a drive 350 on a 480 Par 5 dogger - nothing like hitting the backside of a fairway bunker picking up like 50 yds. Alan - for what it is worh I like the NV 75 much better than the 65. Better control and distance tipped at 3/4 of an inch. You may want to spend $80 for a reshaft before you spend $400+ for a new driver. Alcap26
And I remember you telling me before about liking the 75 better. I think I am going to go that route because I love my driver but the shaft is fighting me and has been for a while but I have fit myself to it and I am tired of doing that. Now I just have to get a shaft and put it in there. Nice drive and nice 1 over on the back. Thanks for the tip info Andy.

I think the 75 will fit better - just based on the facts the you like the s400's in the irons - that are heavier and the afct that you hit left with the 65 - how is the trajectory? Send me the driver and have leaderboard send the shaft and grip - I will take care of the rest - my friend. :smile2:

It's difficult for me to realize the anguise you must be feeling. Somehow, sitting behind a keyboard so far away doesn't lend itself to the sensitivity of good thoughts and healthy emotion so deserving in your rare case. On Chat we joked, we laughed, we made fun of each other, and had a rip rouring good time but we sometimes eluded to the facts that things weren't all ok with your health. If thinking about this helps, if praying about this helps, if talking about and posting about this helps, then I'll do all of it. Andy...nice round and really nice drive..I played in the company scamble and one of the kids on my team was blowing the ball 45-50yds past me..I hit so many irons from places I've never dreamed of being I didn't know what to do...in fact the only decent second shot I hit was off my own drive,(as sean jerked his left), but I really liked his driver, Ping G2 with NV75 even tho I'm not a fan of the NV at all. One of these days I plan on getting finished painting the house, been working on it 3 days a week for 3 weeks now and am just getting to the point of priming it. I'm too damn old to be working this damn hard. Then I can enjoy some fall golf! In fact I just got a free green's fee to the University of Wisconsin course designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr. I will be visiting shortly I'm thinking of getting a Bridgestone driver also and putting an axiv shaft in it as a birthday/christmas gift to myself. See I'm not clever enough to pull the 652 from my TM driver and put in a new driver nooooo sir I've gotta get something way over the top just because it's there to be had and I have no plans to retire until i'm 106 at least. But I'll probably just start with the shaft and wait to get a head until spring to see if I survive the winter, number one, and discover if I have any money at all after paying to heat my house, number two! Any way..enjoy all..may you never have to dine on chicken lips
chainsaw
The G2 is seriously legit. It's a bomber! I've been drooling over the G5 for a few weeks but have somehow resisted the urge to pull the trigger. The Cally is holding a firm place in the bag suprisingly. I've started hitting the gym again so that ought to add another 50 yards at least to the driver. I'll be at 350 in no time  Mike, hope you're doing well. Do you guys have AOL IM? The chat hasn't been so efficient lately.
AKFLY
Mike - hang in there and keep the head up high. I would offer you my liver but that would just make things worse - LOL. Shoe - keep the economy pumpin and spend, spend , spend. Lance - how's those B stone irons - better than z101, mr23, X tour, X18,CG2, TA2, etc................................. Alan - Get the 60's I hear they are forgiving and just as nice as the 32's - I may get 3-4-5-6 for my set.
shoe295
G5 looks good too..just so many choices and not enough time..now where have I heard THAT before? I got a sprayer to help me paint and let me tell you they put about 700 warnings not to shoot yourself with it and if you do to have the physician who sees you treat it surgically IMMEDIATELY; almost makes you want to box it up and send it back except I just KNOW some yahoo has spray painted his arm and wound up losing it. Once you get the hang of it tho it sure does work slick, although you don't want to use it in much of a breeze and absolutely no where up wind of your car. may your camels spit nothing but dates....enjoy
Alcap26
Shoe you will have to let us know when you finish the project. I remember the time I took on a painting job when I was in high school. Needless to say it took 3 times as long as expected and I think I cleared about 50 bucks after the 3 weeks. Last monday was an interesting day for me. I played a local course that is tighter than my normal course and I have never broken 80 on it. I shot 79 from the blues (6509 yards 71.3/125). Then i got in the car and went to my regular course to play 18 more and opened with a career low 33 on the front nine. 3 birdies (two in a row on 7 and 8). I then came back to reality and shot 43 on the back. I got to thinking all I need was a 38 to shot my first ever under par round. Lets just say the brain got in the way. I did pick up a Titleist 503h w/ Aldila NV85 hybrid shaft for 125.00 broand new. I thought what they heck. So far with limited use it is one of the better hybrids I have tried and I was not hooking the crap out of it. I could actually hit a fade with it. We will see how it works out. I really don't know why I got it. I love my 2 iron and hit it well...oh well why do we buy things we don't need. I hope you guys have a great weekend. Alan
shoe295
why do we buy things we don't need? because we can! In some insane hope that by having one more thing we will achieve nirvana, the Elysian Fields, Valhalla, or some such gobblety gook. what do I know except that manual labor at 43 was a hell of lot easier to do than at 53... anybody seen the pathpro infomercial on the golf channel? I'm on right about in the middle of the thing..they made me an 18 handicap..LOL i'm gonna use that next time i get in a skins game..I do really highly recommend the product as something that can work for a lot of different flaws, of which I suffer several. Alan..it's always an issue when your head gets in the way, I always forget to swing and try to steer which is probably why I havent gone low this year at all. Yet. still time left for one more good round. Still that was some nice playing you did.. I'm looking for a hybrid at about 22 or 23* but I just can't get my head around the looks of the titleist. I'll be sure and let you know when I'm done..got the whole main body of the house painted using a sprayer in 6.5 hours on Tuesday..
Alcap26
Well Gents it has been a couple of weeks since this thread showed up in the new posts so I thought I would get it going again. About three weeks ago I shot my career best round of even par 72. I then did not play for two weeks and went out and shot a nice 82. I am sure my team was so happy since I was the A man. At least we won a side due to my three birdies in a row on holes 3, 4, and 5. I absouletly hate the weather and time change. I get into a funk so bad when the weather gets like this. I think I need a sun lamp. I hate golf with more clothes on. Other than my complaints things are going good. The dog is healthy and a great help when a day goes south. I hope all of you are doing good. I see a few of you some on golfwrx. I was just wondering how all of you are doing. Alan
AKFLY
Well - I am just getting over the flu. At least it wasn't as bad as the kids. So I watched golf for 5 hours and now I am watching the Bears. At least my appetite is back an I am grilling a prime rib for the family. I have not played a round of golf in three weeks - only hit the range once. Can't stop thinking of some new irons - probably go with a set of MP-60's and interchange with the 37's that I have. shoe295
just got back from visiting my sister's kids in southern Georgia...I never remember until I go outdoors that EVERYTHING that flys bites you and a lot of those critters can't be seen with the naked eye! I'm still scratching gnat bites. Haven't played in over a month despite some really really nice weather, but I'm going to try and play Monday for sure. I'm with you Alan on playing with added clothing...plus it's really difficult to stay loose in the colder weather. My youngest daughter got a Blue Heeler puppy at the end of september..what a nice dog...when she's unhappy she howls like a coyote...marvelous sound at 2AM..not stay well all and enjoy the Thanksgiving holiday
AKFLY
First snow flurries here today - and yes it is damn cold. Got rid of the Mizuno's and have a set of TM CB RAC's on the way. Now to decide what shafts to put in them. Plenty of time to tinker after Turkey Day ! This is the only golf site that I can get into at work since the new firewall was built.
