TheHawkmc
I was wondering where the optimal sweet spot is on the Tourstage X-Drive 460. I just picked up one and am still adjusting to the deeper face. On my Ping G2 (great, consistent driver for its time) the optimal spot was the top third of the clubface. The ball came off hottter with less spin. Has anyone figured this out with an X-Drive 460 yet??
acrazygolfer
It appears to be between the 2nd and 5th groove for a standard ball flight. For a lower and more penetrating flight, such as into the wind, just a tad lower.
TheHawkmc
Thanks, I assume you mean the 2nd to 5th groove from the top?
bartolomeo1
I feel its more toward the center of the face compared maybe to a TM head where I think that is more towards the center-toe area. I like the fact I can have the face of the TS head at the toe or heel of the ball when at address and still hit the sweet spot. Bart
TheHawkmc
I played my first round with the X-Drive. I had 5 drives in the 320-330 range (fairways were firm) and 8 of 12 over 300!! All were hit in the middle of the face (as compared to my G2 which I'd hit higher on the face). Part of this is adjusting to teeing the ball higher due to the deeper face. That will take time!! acrazygolfer
With the combined results, the X-drive has a pretty big sweet spot.
