shinichi808
hey everyone, i'm currently looking for a new driver. if you had a choice between these which would you choose? 1. tourstage 2007 x-drive 410 2. tourstage 2007 x-drive 430 3. tourstage viq deep 4. tourstage x-drive 435 i saw the comparison on gocchin's website between the 410 and 430. and recently saw an article in golf gear comparing the 430 and 435 head. just thought i'd get some input from you folks at tsg. gocchin
Shinichi, what kind of ball flight are you looking for and what drivers did you play in the past? I noticed you didn't consider the 460 or ViQ MX.
shinichi808
my normal ball flight is high...so med/high to high ball flight is fine. actually i didn't consider the 460 and viq mx cause i was looking for a smaller head driver...something in the lower 400 range. umm...drivers i've played are the 907d2 9.5* (w/ axiv v-7076) and 905r 8.5* (w/ v2 75). I haven't hit the TourStage drivers (at least yet), but I remember Idrive giving the new X-drive 430 quite a glowing review. Believe he had the GD Quattro Tech shaft in there. gocchin
Yeah a lot will depend on your shaft choice too but the 430 would be a good mix of performance and forgiveness. Some members here still swear by their 435's. Is it the most recent golf gear that compares the two? I should have that issue here somewhere... Duffer19
I know it might not be politically correct in asking this but what is your handicapp and your own assessment of your playing ability? The different designs are all catered to all different need and playing abilities hence decision be made.
shinichi808
better not foget about the NEW X-DRIVE GR! i was looking at that...but it only comes in a 460 head...=/ Yeah a lot will depend on your shaft choice too but the 430 would be a good mix of performance and forgiveness. Some members here still swear by their 435's. Is it the most recent golf gear that compares the two? I should have that issue here somewhere... i was planning on reshafting it with a roddio w-7ba shaft. hmm...would you go with the viq deep or x-drive? cause i think they're both 430cc heads. and actually i liked the feel of the 435 but ballooned the ball with the pt-6 shaft...never bothered to reshaft it either, oops =P. i think it was either february or march issue of golf gear. I know it might not be politically correct in asking this but what is your handicapp and your own assessment of your playing ability? The different designs are all catered to all different need and playing abilities hence decision be made. i think i'm in the teens for handicap...usually shoot mid 80's. trying to get down to a single digit this year...haha. as for playing ability i never had a problem striking a golf ball and my yardage for clubs is above average. master
I'm using a 9.5* 430 with GD Quattro Tech 65 S shaft. The feel is superb, soft yet with lots of feedback. Trajectory is mid. I find the head forgiving & is certainly more forgiving than 435. I have also tested the VIQ Deep 10* with stock shaft & the ball fllight of VIQ Deep is high & is very forgiving as well. Current gamer is a 435 X-drive with Diamana Red...... great combo. lusting after a Roddio shod 430......

chinkwan
I own a custom ordered Tourstage Driver direct from Japan.. Tourstage ViQ 9.5 with GD Tour AD W-70.. I hit the longest drives of my life with that thing.. I can keep up with guys that I usually hit shorter by 20 yards.. no kidding.. I have gone through 14 drivers in the last 4 years and nothing that has beat it for distance (and I have had hi-COR drivers as well) It has a solid feel.. and it sets up perfectly square.. (not to my liking as I fight a slice, I can benefit from a closed face driver) On a different note, I got a ViQ Fwy and it hits bombs as well..
