bogeydog
What do the pros play? Seems like 50%/50%. Obviously they have skills to handle most any club, but I can't imagine that a Pro likes standing over a clunky CB. So what and why do they play these clubs? gocchin
Many play blades for the playability/workability but interestingly, I've started seeing more CB's including chunkier game improvement style irons lately on JPGA. Top pro Shingo Katayama has been playing Nike Ignite Irons with graphite and a Sumo 10.5* driver and his comments were... "why shouldn't I play these clubs, they are so easy to hit. Golf is already difficult as it is so my thinking is to get the most forgiving and easiest to hit clubs I can." I kinda agree... Generally are CBs more accurate than MBs?
xchangmanx
I also must agree w/T. CBs are great for game improvement. W/the technology now, you'd be robbed if you didn't at least even try to take advantage of the forgiving CBs out there. Note>Shingo uses the ignites if I'm not mistaken. Also great set of clubs. Most of the guys I know around here play CBs during tourny play even though they have the nice beautiful MBs. Workability is sacrificed for forgiveness. But I've had a chance to hit some great CBs out there that are just awesome; ie AF301 r7 forged, Miz 60s 57s and the xforged. In my book the CBs have lowered my handicap and are just, "easier to hit" as my main concern is put the ball closer to the hole. =) T
Duffer19
Thanks TI feel better about switching to CB. Generally are CBs more accurate than MBs? Were you playing a blade before? Accuracy is a function of playability/forgiveness and ball striking.
ajaykkr
Thanks TI feel better about switching to CB. Generally are CBs more accurate than MBs? other way around for good ball strikers - MB is more accurate.. for an ok swing to .... not so ok swing.... the CB will yield better results (note that i did not use the word "accurate")
Duffer19
I guess most if not all the arrows are straight. Its always the ......
DC003
What in you guys' opinion is the best player's CB out there? Kinda up the alley of MP 57s. I've realized lately that my game probably can't handle a blade. I'd have major difficulty from 6 iron and up.
jacksonlui
i like the Epon type S. sets up nicely. the old tried and true ss forged are also nice, as well as the 695cb. for something even more forgiving, the mx23 at a bargain price. i own all three and switch it up all the time. i'm thinking of mixing the baby blades with the type S cavity backs. the shorter mb irons are great out of the rough and the larger cavity backs are great for approach shots. xchangmanx
Were you playing a blade before?Accuracy is a function of playability/forgiveness and ball striking. I was playing hogan apexs and then moved to miz 32s then moved to 695MBs. Then I moved to CBs w/the MP60, R7TP, CG1s, R7forged, now the AF301. I've always been a fan of Mizzy, and I love the workability of blades, but I've never felt anything better than my 301s w/1150tours fit for me from tsg. The 301 has taken over my bag since last year and I have no intention of changing for a long time. T
