Posted January 9, 200817 yr comment_146603 So Golf Style reported that Daisuke Maruyama has gone from Titleist to Fourteen this season which will give Fourteen much more PGA exposure since Maruyama is a PGA regular. He's playing: JC707 9* Driver SF206 3 Wood UT306 Hybrid TC-1000 Forged MT-28 V3 Wedges... Let's hope he does well and helps promote some JDM!!
January 9, 200817 yr comment_146604 It is likely more for the benefit of the large Japanese fans base.
January 10, 200817 yr comment_146607 Very good move for Fourteen, and as the MJR said, nice bag! I'm kind of curious about the driver, as I never heard much about the previous Fourteen drivers... any more news on his setup?
January 10, 200817 yr Author comment_146608 The driver is the one that came second in the D1 Grand Prix behind the Yamaha, when it first came out it got tons of coverage as having good distance... it was one of the first Japanese stock drivers to go over 46" in length stock.... everyone else has followed.
January 10, 200817 yr comment_146615 Yay for the JDM!! Is it me or is the filling on the wedges green?
January 11, 200817 yr comment_146641 What's his putter? I know the cover is a Scotty Cameron, but I did not get a close look at the putter. I assumed it was similar to Imada's putter...he had an unusual Scotty Cameron prototype with a couple of weighted inserts. I spoke with Imada's caddie on the practice green at Waialae and Daisuke was talking with Yusaku on the other end of the green.
January 13, 200817 yr comment_146666 What's his putter? I took a closer look today @ the Sony Open. His putter is the same type featured on Scotty Cameron homepage http://www.scottycameron.com/default.asp . I am sure there are some personal touches that Scotty probally did for him.
January 13, 200817 yr comment_146667 Solid !!!! is the word, good to have there presence on the tour. Fourteen is the best, why because I used to be a big club every month kind of guy, and I got the 770's and have had them well over a year now lol. I keep tring to purchase some new irons, and I go out the next day a pure the 770's and say nope to pure. And the wedges I cant say more about them wow!!!. I like to see them on the tour, and when they get out a little more, people wil go oh my!!! slip them the bag and run lol.

Thanks for the reminder T, I'd forgotton about the Grand Prix results. Either way, I hope the bag works out well for him.
January 25, 200817 yr comment_146975 Any reviews on the SF206?Don't see this in the Proshop either! Anyone playing the SF206? Interested in seeing some in-hand pictures and comments regarding the stock face angle.

January 26, 200817 yr comment_147003 Anyone playing the SF206?Interested in seeing some in-hand pictures and comments regarding the stock face angle. I have the SF206 3W in my backup bag. Like all Fourteen clubs (I have a 606 driver and a 106 hybrid), it is very solid but changed the stock R flex to a Fuji Six S and it is rocket now. The face angle is very similar to Epon 3w. It is either square or slightly closed. Head size is slightly larger than the Epon with face depth almost identical. Sorry, I dont have a camera handy.

Any comments on the feel compared to the Epon? Must be a reason that the SF206 is in the back-up bag.

Perhaps it is really not a back-up bag but rather a second bag stored at a different club location. IMO the SF206 is as good as the Epon in feel. I have almost all Epons in one bag and Fourteen woods and Miura irons on the other.
January 31, 200817 yr comment_147155 Anyone playing the SF206?Interested in seeing some in-hand pictures and comments regarding the stock face angle. I am new here (btw great informative forum), but I wanted to give my opinions on the sf206 3 wood as I have a bit of experience. I think the face angle is very slightly closed on mine, maybe by one degree, almost imperceptible to my eye at least. The club head is not overly large, but for example it is bigger than the usdm Titleist 904f2/f4 or Ping G10. However, it is nice and slender as far as depth and you can easily go down and make good contact if you have a grassy lie. I really like the forgiveness, and as another said the feel is great. Of course, fit and finish is top notch. What surprisd me is how solid the stock shaft feels, I have an epic shaft going in it now, but for a 65 gram or so weight and higher torque (4.4) the stock shaft is surprisingly solid feeling. Anyway, hope this helps. I included a pic of the head to show the size compared to a Tourstage model. These pics are not nearly as good as gocchins, but it can give you an idea of size. The Fourteen is the unwrapped club on the left in both pics. Edited January 31, 200817 yr by LSeca

Thank you for the kind words, I wasn't sure if my initial post was appropriate or not. I will follow-up with you when I get the club back with the epic. Going back to the original post, I can not find this Fouteen hybrid model (ut306) he has in the bag anywhere. Is this an older model? I want to buy one and try it out. I like the sole shape, which is very different than the current offering in the pro shop. Any info appreciated. Edited February 1, 200817 yr by LSeca
February 1, 200817 yr comment_147186 The 306 is a prototype (after the 206 about 6 to 8 months ago) that have not or might not be offically launched to the general public.
