I've been playing a Sonartec ss07 3 wood for aeons and am thinking of replacing it with an RC BBD's 304P & or maybe a 5-wood.

Has anyone actually hit one of these or even the 304H or 304T which look to be an updated version of the old Sonartecs, if so can you post your impressions?.

If you had an RC/Sonartec and replaced to with something else, what did you spring for?

Thanks

no, but i had them on standy in a used shop ew weeks ago. but decied on keeping my bbd type h 2 wiith the diamana blue. instead. , they are a littel smaller and look absolutely sensational, they had diamana whites 73 s in them, but at 35000 apiece used.,. i didnt think that difffernerce from what i have was worth the added expense. BUT., if i didnt already have my ones i would have taken them i n a heart beat. roy coll fws are sensational.

RC has long been one of the leading Fw makers especially for the better player as most of the FW's are compact and pear shaped, neutral or open faced and built to heavier specs.

Amazing feel and accuracy with usually a penetrating trajectory which is why they are a leading choice of pros on tour even Non RC Pros.

i'm no pro of course but just like to second what Tario says here from personal experience. got RC Pro TP 3FW from him not too long ago and when i got it i was shocked at how good the club is ie how it feels and plays. after that all other FWs seem like tin cans to me. i havent tried that many but most popular off the shelf brands like TM, Nike, Callaway etc. its hard to explain the feel of the club but for a lack of better comparison imagine having a long iron that is much easier to hit than an iron, goes much farther than an iron but is very solid and precise almost just like an iron. i dunno if it makes sense but this is the closest i can describe how it feels to me and this is what i was looking for. anyways the club is very very solid and hefty but the clubhead itself is nice and small. i went for Nippon 950FW steel shaft and i thought i'm gonna loose some distance with this combo but in reality have actually gained a bit over my previous 3FW [ light tin can, graphite ] and i get far more control and better trajectory. RC no longer make Pro TP and there is no direct replacement for it in their current line and i really dunno why which i think, at the risk of sounding like a grumpy old man, is damn shame but those guys know how to make FWs good and proper thats for sure. hope this is helpful to you somehow.

I also have a RC Pro TP 3FW, and although I don't play very well, I can attest to the face if hit correctly, it feels like something else. Solid with a nice kick (could be the Oban in it), and a lovely sound (semi-high ting)

Have you guy's seen the new VS Fairway wood by Royal Collection that Gocchin posted on GTI? I'm on the same boat with you guys that If I didn't own the PRGR Spoon and had the game to handle something more workable combined with lower trajectory this new VS would for sure be in consideration.

RC FW's are all about feel, shape, and workability.

This will be my new 3 wood for sure. I'll soon be putting up my PRGR for sale. Really excited to get back to RC woods.

yeah, seen that post, one good and right looking FW that is! i'm very happy with Pro TP right now and this looks like continuation of the same good stuff although this one looks slightly bigger and deeper than Pro TP tho its hard to tell. jfyi personally i didnt find Pro TP more difficult than anything else i have tried if anything its actually easier for me to hit proper because of how it feels ie gives me a ton of confidence at address because its so solid and with my NS steel combo i can feel it really well during the swing. the only part where its harder to hit proper than your regular off the shelf stuff are sketchy lies but other than that you dont have to be a pro or a very good player to game it, trust me coz i'm neither :) and it works for me ways and ways better than anything i have tried before but then again all this stuff is very personal, maybe i just got lucky and found a good match.

A, it's about 10cc bigger than the Pro TP but the same traditional shape, high back and deep face design. It's already in play on the Japanese tour and feedback has been very very promising.

will it be as expensive as the 304P?....... I know that comes/came with the GD DI shaft as standard, but that is/was spendy club when compared to a lot of the competition.

Would love to see a side by side pic of the 304P against this new club to see how much 10cc really looks.

One of these woods is in my future.......
