rjklein4470
Has anybody hit both of these irons, loving the looks of the Golds blades, but I hear great things about the Epon's. Currently I am playing epon 302's, and Callaway Proto's as my back up
MatthewC
Which Epon did you want to change to since you are already playing the 302's? For feel, i would definitely go with the Epons. I've played many japan brand irons and nothing compares to the Epon's so far. Have not tried the Gold's, but i have prejudice to irons forged at ENDO. But, if you wanted a major cusotm tweaks to your irons, master sasaya from Golds can make your set fancy!
golf 37
Has anybody hit both of these irons, loving the looks of the Golds blades, but I hear great things about the Epon's. Currently I am playing epon 302's, and Callaway Proto's as my back up I have played both and each one is very high quality blades. However, the Epon for me wins hands down. The easy of use is extraordinary for a blade and feel is softer than the Gold's. Coupled with the right shaft you cant really go wrong with the AF Tour
supo
Golds blades huh..., i didnt know about those till just now .......,thats next to check out.! As for the af- tours well as everyone says if u want to play a club thats the easiest softest feeling about then this is it . Ive got a few sets of blades on the go now and. Ive eeked out their pros and. Cons finally ( for me that is) the af tour i use in perfect soft Conditions esp. On nice spongy soft grass. Unbeatable! the sole is alittle thicker than most other blades .and the top line isnt super thin. They are a rounded club they frame the ball beautifully. im playing these right now in conjunction with my kyoeis rotating a day at atime and im basicaly going to the kyoies when its tough conditions and the aftours on great days the Af tours are the easiest and probably best progression from cavities to Blades I can think of.as an all round easy to hit great feeling blade these are tough to compete with they are not the most dynamic club available but. I dont think they were designed to be , they have a wee bit more offset compared to other irons but if u dont want to be cussing all day or ur not a scratch or better then these are the Very top.going From the 302 to these will be a snack,i got an idea get both and tell me what the golds are like!!!! Jerry in China
Epon carved out some steel to put on the upper and lower portion of the club, and made a check in the middle. That is somewhat like a small cavity. Same design like the Mizuno mp 32. It helps the ball to take off and also give the club a better center of gravity. On gold's is a more traditional blades. AF tour is just good. Think about it, you have a blade, very soft, easy to use. Why heading for a more difficult blades? So many top tour guys are using cavity, so... I guess we play blades for the sake of play blades....
+TourSpecGolfer
Epon AF-Tour is the better design, made of S20C, and manufactured by Endo. Can't beat that.
ajey
Just bought epon af tour with diamana thump graphite stiff shaft (i'm still young, 26 years old). Start playing golf 2 years ago and carrying 11 handicapper, this blades is pretty easy to hit, great feeling and accurate. I played this morning for first time with this irons and add 10 more yards than my previous irons ( TM RAC tp mb, Touredge CNC exotics forged (both with Project X shaft)). Nice trajectory and able to stop the ball within a feet even with 6 iron. That could be because of the shaft, but i don't know exactly. Have no idea about the Gold's blades. but, I just want to tell you if Epon AF tour is great blades and really forgiving
