proquick72
Im currently playing kzg zo irons 1-pw and I'm curious as to how these compare to the gold's forgings? Which is better? I understand kzg uses kyoie to forge but are there better forgings out there? Any help is appreciated. Thankyou
gocchin
Better is very subjective. There are many many good forgings from Japan and it all depends on what you are looking for. Gold's are also forged at Kyoei. One thing to keep in mind when it comes to feel as well is not only does the quality of the steel or the forging effect the feel but very much the shaft, the grind and head design as well as even the player will vary the feel. seesawgolfer
Yes, I've read in this forum that the head shape, grind, and bounce has the most significant affect on feel. Although, it being forged does have a big difference in the softness at impact.
jpsfreak
Hi, Am still keeping my golds factory cavity backs and those are soft feeling iron.Having it with kbs shafts tour 90 is a plus.I also gaming with miura sb 01 and if you compare between of those which one is better, its hard to judge. Both are fantastic iron and sometime make you confuse on which one club should i choose to play. I understand TSG can do replenish iron as golds factory offer (lucky guess cause the web is all japanese). Can Tario assist how i can proceed? thanks DW
Above_Beyond
KZG Z0 are great blades (as you can see i am currently playing them) - Golds (in my honest opinion) is overpriced - you are paying more for a particular look than anything else. Now lets clarify: they are great irons - but no better than your ZO blades - at a higher price. Certainly no better than a set of vegas or yururis which you should also be able to get for a lower price. Case in point the 500 dollar golds wedges -.... inexplicable when you look at your other choices..

Kyoei, Miura, Endo it's all still considered mass production. Gold's Factory is at a whole other level Read this : The Golds Factory Process Another couple of awesome posts! Spoon
well it all depends on what your willing to pay for. if you arent prepared to pay for the Gold's then get something else. there are many good japanese brands out there. I am impressed with sasaya san's level of craftsmanship and entire process in general, id drop serious dough on one of his putters but for irons i am not so particular,, that and the fact that i change irons often makes it a no go in my book. if i was the type to use a single brand of irons til they are beat up then the golds would be a no brainer

Mjr. D
I'm not going to lie, I just bought (and still haven't had a chance to use since I'm 3500 miles from them right now) 3 Gold's Factory wedges. Why spend $500 on a frickin wedge? Similar to why multi-millionaires and billionaires spend $10-$70 million on a painting..... to have something totally exclusive. The first time I saw a set of Gold's wedges I told myself I have to have those one day. They just did it for me. Will they perform better than say Epon's or Fourteen's or Vokey's?? No, and I didn't buy them for that reason, I bought them because I had complete control over the design and specs along with the idea of having something hand made and rare. There's absolutely nothing wrong with that. Price is always relative.

idrive
This might seem strange to some, but..... Knowing that I have the finest clubs to play.. that were made to my specs, perhaps designed by me, built buy the finest craftsman anywhere... makes me play better. I have a set of the Gold's cavity backs.... what a great set of irons. I have never had a Putter I would never let go of until I got my GF Putter. I don't see it ever leaving the bag... except when it goes back to the master to be refurbed. Also like having clubs nobody else has. It doesn't matter what you customize, from cars to golf clubs it costs more money. The extra money spent is money well spent to me. Done rambling.... for now :)
supo
yea , join i love having one offs. but im slightly differnt tho. my bags a hotch potch meld of experimentation i like randomly selecting components and seeing how they go, some times i loose .. proquick72
I love my ZO's and they feel great. Ive had them for a year and a half but I play tons of tourneys and practice a lot so they will be worn out in about a year or so. Im really particular about my clubs, specifically my irons. About how much will a set of custom golds blades cost? I dont change clubs often so Im just trying to save up enough money (hard for a college student), to get my next set.
