Above_Beyond
Feel free to mock me... but... I am seriously considering gaming......: the PRGR 2010 R55 WEDGE I play @ 3 HcP so this may seem like an odd choice. Here is my rational: While I am yet to confirm my bag for the start of the season it is will leave me room for 3 wedges. I will be playing a 50*, 60* Yururi rupas, I have always liked this combo because I am confident in my ability to work the ball in whatever way I wish from inside 130 with these 2. When I first started playing golf I had a coach from HK who really emphasized this philosophy. He felt that having too many wedges made the player rely heavily on equipment as opposed to learning the dynamics of the swing that allow a skilled player to control the ball (im not espousing this philosophy btw. I just grew up with it and it works for me - but before you go do it consider phil mickelson playing 4) anyway, with this extra club I am really considering stashing my ego at the door, I dont need a "Chipper" as im happy to use a hybrid for the purpose, but I had a playing partner who had a PRGR wedge (similar to the above - cant say for sure it was the same), he was a scratch player and coach of a University golf squad. He felt that having 2 "workable wedges" was great, but he liked to have a fall back club for when "the s**t hit the fan" or if he encountered a strange lie, condition or some borderline impossible shot. During the round he used the wedge four times each with great results. He encouraged me to check my ego and consider what such a club might do for my game. Anyway, Im curious what you guys think, let me know your thoughts? I love the idea they have for the grip on this club it just makes me sad that I will have to rip it off and resize the shaft as im really short. Or can I have done before it is sent? (cough* tario cough*)?? Thanks guys, ill be interested to hear your feedback.

supo
hey........! check these out bunker meijin............................. i have 2 of these 60* and 70* for those i just need to make sure if i get in trouble days. from fluffybunkers they are unmatchabe, the ball doesnt spin it just pops out and rolls from thick grass, nothing in same league. ugliest looking clubs ever ,BUT sooooooooooo efective. the eggs will do same thing i guess. Spoon
ive always wanted to get one of those r55 wedges. been wanting one since 07. they will surely outperform many of my wedges, especially from the fringe. dont be too hard on yourself

+TourSpecGolfer
So yea I would suggest getting the Yururi Egg vs Meijin similar deal. Also that PRGR R55 chipper/wedge is unreal have had the opportunity to play with it. I could see it saving a couple of shots per side for me. supo
to put one of these in a bag. play driver 3w 5w 22* ute 5-6-7-8-9-pw 52* 58* super-chipper putter. or drop a wood and throw in a 4 iron.?
supo
the yrururi egg is good as wel, spins a lot moe than the meijin , got one permantnly in oz for the fluffy bunkes, makes a big differnce down there.
+TourSpecGolfer
keep the UT and have it with a steel shaft for accuracy! another option is a driving 4 iron, I just bagged the new Srixon for a bit, its nice so is that Hi610 T.S you hit so well at the show. Hybrid 15* Hybrid 17* 2 iron - bent to 20* 4-9 iron 50* wedge 60*wedge and now.... I ordered the PRGR 55* wedge thingy lolol - i dont even know what to call it And of course a putter
MatthewC
Chipper wedges are amazing. I haven't got the courage to bag them yet, but my older partners use them and they are masters from the fringe. Perhaps i should suck it up...i'm sure it could save me a couple strokes. Above_Beyond
Yeah, I couldnt convince myself until I got down near scratch again. Now it doesnt really matter what I look like using it - the rest of the game speaks for itself so I dont get made fun of (too often ;) haha)

Above_Beyond
Definitely I was thinking ill do a review - maybe even make a video, do a comparison of playability around the greens with PRGR r55. If anyone else is interested, let me know and Ill get out there and do it sometime next week.

Above_Beyond
A video review would be great! Alright, Ill take some normal wedges out and hit some shots, and take the chipper-thing (we need to establish a name for this!) out and see how it goes.
