Without a doubt the best looking set of irons I've ever seen. They absolutely scream quality. Hat is pretty cool too....post-3677-0-99050900-1325514445.jpgpost-3677-0-66852400-1325514488.jpgpost-3677-0-55016800-1325514483.jpgpost-3677-0-22321900-1325514478.jpgpost-3677-0-14671000-1325514473.jpgpost-3677-0-78244100-1325514467.jpgpost-3677-0-68473500-1325514462.jpgpost-3677-0-35304600-1325514457.jpgpost-3677-0-49720700-1325514451.jpg..post-3677-0-05263400-1325120169.jpgpost-3677-0-87407500-1325120157.jpgpost-3677-0-81213100-1325120180.jpgpost-3677-0-21065200-1325120190.jpgpost-3677-0-37345400-1325120661.jpgpost-3677-0-91555700-1325120815.jpg

Will do.......as you can see I haven't even taken the plastic off them yet. Had hernia surgery 3 weeks ago so 2 more weeks before I can swing 'em! Oh, and a shout out to the TSG staff for patiently answering all of my questions and working with me on getting these!

Fantastic looking set! I really wished you could take a picture with a golfball infront of any clubface to show the size of the clubhead in comparison.

Get well super fast and enjoy them new beauties!

Oh wow, those are crazy sexy! Custom set and you also purchased wedges. I love V-Forged wedge perhaps one of the best wedges of the year in my book. I wanted the Tour's but didn't order in time. I ended up getting the normal V-Forged.

How do you like the V-forged?

OK so found some acceptable weather and time to play 18 with these. As you know, I have extensive playing time with Yamaha Tour irons dating back to 2008. I have owned each year since.

When I first saw pictures of the 2012, I was reminded of the simple cavity of the 2008 model. The design looked meaty and led me to believe that the 2012 model may see the feel and forgiveness of the famed 2008. The answer is yes. I knew immediately on the first shot. Guys - Let me cut to the chase. These are the finest irons Yamaha has ever made.

Looks - small head, nice thin topline but not razor thin. Great square shape. The PW is very square. Nothing I can find wrong here. Perfect for me.

Feel - Dead solid muted feel. No harshness here at all. Perfect shots remind me of the Epon AF301. Off center shots are still solid and smooth. Gone is any clickiness in previous models. Maybe the best feeling iron I have owned. I can't wait to feel these when it is 90 degrees.

Forgiveness - My kind of iron. I will take all the forgiveness I can get. For their size, they are very forgiving.

Sole - Today was damp and the fairways soft but not mushy. Performed great.

Spin - They spin more than previous models. The micro x pattern seems to work.

Distance - Too cold to judge now.

To some it up, I am not sure how they could be better. I was always sad I had sold the 2008s, but I am so happy to have these. Time will tell, but my gut tells me these may be the winner. If you passed on buying a set of these, I am sorry as you missed what may be one of the most enjoyable iron experiences.

The shafts that came with mine are the NS950s in stiff. In the past I have not had much luck with this model, but they seem to work in these heads. Very very straight.

I wonder how the non Tour model stacks up.

Hey Lennie, thanks for adding the photos with the clubhead and the golf ball. That really gives me an idea of how the tour heads are shaped. Once more enjoy them beauties in a happy New Year 2012!

Hi

Does anyone know how these compare to the Epon 302's in Club Head Size wise please

Very nice indeed...my only negative would be the back of the club is a bit busy with logos and such.

Love them! I don't have the striking skills to realistically handle the Tour Models for 18 holes straight so I went with the standard V-Forged and am pleased I did. Solid yet soft feel, distance is like any other iron on the market, The setup has a little offset but nothing that gets in the way. In fact Im considering going for the D-Forged. Yamaha's largest forged CB model for 2012. I really liked the cast version in 2010 that was very forgiving and long. I hope the forged version feels even better and travels just as far. If so I'm totally in!

Had the opportunity to play 14 holes yesterday, first time out since surgery. All went well and the irons performed excellent as expected. A few brief observations:

-the face milling really does seem to work. I am trying out the Srixon Q-star ball this season and was able to stop it on a dime every time.

-the trajectory with the shafts I have (Nippon Modus) is definitely lower than what I've experienced with any other Nippon shaft. This may be a combination of the shaft design and flex profile (stiff). No problems with it though.

-at the risk of sounding trite, the irons feel "solid" and "smooth" to me, liked the feel alot.

Heading to Myrtle Beach for four days of golf this week and will make a more complete report upon my return.

Played on Saturday and had a great iron day. I am having fun with these. My iron play hasn't been very good for 2 seasons but I am happy with what I am experiencing with these. I didn't ship well and need some work from 60 yards in but I am very happy with everything else. The Yamaha irons are superb and play so so well. IMO these are the best since 2008. Just as good but possibly better. So much easier to hit and better feel that 2009-2011.
