Z3RO
Guys, I'm currently using Yamaha D-Steel irons that I've been using for months. Great irons and easy to hit. I recently purchased OnOff Forged irons for my brother. I played with him for few rounds, tried his irons too. Boy.. it feels so awesome. So softtttt and easy to hit. Now I'm thinking of getting rid of my D-Steel and getting something like the OnOff Forged. D-steel now feels somewhat bulky and clicky. I don't want to buy the same iron as I can always switch with him. I'm looking for something similar. I've always wanted Epon AF-502 but it's been out for few years. I might wait for next 502. What are your thoughts?

From what I heard, the 302 are much more difficult to hit than the onoffs. Comparable might be the Yamaha Inpres X V Forged (non Tour) or the new Tourstage 707. Haven't played any of these. These suggestions come from what I have been reading. Tario, Chris or Tats can chime in here.

DaleUK
I can't think of anything been more easy to hit than the Onoff's, miles more easier than the 502's.... I changed the Epon 502's to the Onoff Forged. I honestly can't see the 302's been any where as easy to hit!! Z3RO
Coming from D-Steel, the last thing I want is something harder to hit. Surprisingly OnOff were very comfortable to look at address. I've tried 2012 Yamaha V-Forged Tour and I can honestly say I'm not that good yet. I'm always hunting for most forgiving equipments, but yet still easy to look at. Might be slightly afraid of 302 but I'll try find somewhere to try it. Any other recommendation? +TourSpecGolfer
I'm a big fan of the D-Steels! They are easier to hit than the ONOFF Forged but too bad they are cast and don't feel nearly as good. Two options: - Yamaha D-Forged 2012 - ONOFF Forged 2011 The Yamaha will be slightly larger and more forgiving The ONOFF better more rewarding feel if your a fan of soft. swisstrader
I game the 502's and love em. Almost feel as if I cant miss a green and when I do I'm lke WTF?! Tried hitting the 302's because I like the shape better, but simply less forgiving. I'd say find a place where you can hit all of what you're considering...otherwise a bit of a guessing game. Chris, do you know how does the 2012 Yamaha V-Forged (non-tour) compare to ONOFF? Or 502 with those two?

potuna
Last years VG3s and the Onoff forged are comparable for forgiveness. Feel/softness no question Onoff, also Onoff wins at address.

gocchin
I gamed the VG3 for a year, then the ONOFF Forged from the summer up to now. Both equally forgiving, ONOFF better feeling and surprisingly no less in distance.. My iron before the VG3 was in fact the standard V Forged model albeit a couple of genrations ago. It is surprisingly forgivng considering its audience but I would say the VG3 and ONOFF are more so. The D-Forged Chris recommended, I liked a lot. It easily out distanced any of the models mentioned here and is easily the most forgiving of the bunch, perhaps one of the most if not the most forigving forged CB out there. One customer just got a set to replace is Epon AF-702, he emailed me and said the D-Forged were superior in performance over the AF-702. My only draw back with the D-Forged is some may consider it a bit chunky as the cavity is quite large and wide. While I don't mind the AF-502 design, I didn't like the feel so much but thats a personal thing. I also found it had more offset than both the VG3 and ONOFF. Z3RO
A little update: So i left my office early few days ago to stop by my local golf shop to pick up my new golf bag. I got a chance to try the New D-Forged and also V-Forged. Yes I found i need a little more work to hit the V-Forged. Then to the D-Forged, tried them both in NS Pro 950 Regular n Stiff. I can't seem to hit the Stiff properly. I thought maybe i'm wearing work outfit and not geared up comfortably. Tried the regular and WOW I hit the balls easily n more consistently. It really require much less effort. Also tried back what I have D-Steel in same shaft to compare. D-Forged feels slightly softer. But what's important, D-Forged gives more constant result compare to the D-Steel, and less dispersion as shown in the monitor. However, big thanks to Spoon for helping me sourced a mint set of Epon 502 that I have always wanted. So I'll be trying the 502 out first (sadly not until next month as i'll be flying to SF for few weeks). If I can't do well with 502, D-Forged it is.
