No one has done a piece on these babies. not a single iota of ink, anywhere.

now,,

many know i dont mind a blade or 2 or 3 .

so when these came out last yr my inteerst was peeked ,just a smidge.

i already have 2 previous sets so im familiar with the playability of them , the sleekness and the miscued disasters that occur.

it took me a hile to decide to get these as i was fully yamaha based last season.

this yr i deciced to expand my horizons once again and venture back to blades.

i bought he yonex ezone blades which i palyed so astutely in january it inevitably lead me to the TS.

shafted initially with the NS 950 weight flowed models which i nall honesty are a fantastic shaft, however the scoring irons i found i was bendning like beckham, hence they had to be repalced.

normally i would plumb for another set of Ns protos or the modus.

but i found i had a spareset of TT monoccos lying about, and figuered these might be worth a punt.

now............,

tiny blades+ heavy shafts normally = disaster to all but the most pure strikers of the ball.

i unfortunatly am not i n that class. (not thru lack of trying or practise mind u, skill wins here ive found)

but im good enough to get the back of the thing more often than not. and i absloutley love the feeling of a well struck 3 iron from the deck with a stinging draw below the wind , that runs up the bank and onto the front of the green

better than anying else in golf.

i was destined to get baldes!

tourstage 905

built a cpl of weeks ago these were just an after thought to bring these here but after a cpl of wel l struck 7 irons, on the range last weekend i thought why not.

ill give em a whallop. test myself with these.

played today on a (muni ?) public course near mu house , with my bud that split form longy coz it was too tough(pusssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssy!!!) anyway

tee to green last (frst ) two days here i have been robert allenby esque in execution.

once o nthe green tho, well 9 9 9 9 9 9 9 9 9

3 puts ..... into my holliday

9 do u know how many that is in 36 holes

9 3 putts later. ive discovered i need to stick to one putter.

where am, i sorry oh yea.

the irons, today.

tee to green perfect in every club 4 iron from deck to pw lobbed ,cut drawn

perfect. feel perfect. shape the best i can get , execution fantastic.

when ur on these clubs are the go!!!!!!!

feeling of the new design is so much better than the prevous models, bec they are thicker thru the middle im delighted at the placement of the fuller muscle dead cente, just splaying out in a v shape. gives sligtly non centred shots just a hint of forgivability, just a hint. enough not to kill the distance loss that destroys other blades.

the look at address is beautiful, no off set , not tiny , not chunky. just the thing uwant to see i n a blade. and enough to confidently hit shaped shots regularly.

these are fantastic blades, and shafted with the monacco, i found myslef not longing to hit antyhing esle.

they wil get a lot of airtime this spring.

seriously worth a good look if ur considering new blades folks

very very impressed by the new design.

the perfect evolution in the xblade series, and EASILY thier best.

15 thumbs up!

yes, C they will be coming to VIC....!

great wrte-up.....

I think these 905s are probaly the best looking blades out there... I ve toyed with the idea of getting a set to tinker round with but my Epon 302 will always be the ainstay f my bag.

sounds like you've stumbled sn agreat combination oh head and shaft for you. I'd like to try the Monaco saft but fear its a tad heavy as zi am mored used to lighter shafts.

post another review once you have a few rounds under your belt ....oh and let us know hw the finish on those shafts, holds up?

Great review; and you know my penchant for blades, hence the moniker. For some reason TourStage really gets it right when it comes to blades. I know you prefer the 905's to my 901's but I really think the 901's look so much better for some reason. I really like the flowing lines of the back. However, I give much props to these 905's because they are a change from the 901's just like the 901's were a change from the previous X-blade models.

And yes I hear you, a well struck 3-iron, just nothing like it. Beyond pure!

Glad to hear your to report.

  • 3 weeks later...

ok ive had a few rounds with these last 3 weeks with very good results in all.

the new shafts made a huge differnence to the SW, they come in at d0

light heads i guess....,

the feel is typical of all Tourstage blades. but i think these have bit more oomph and the miss**ts are no where near as penal as the oldermodels.

the monacco shafts look really cool in tese as well. nice shiny heads and gold shafts with black grips. niiiice.

if anything id say thats hte new clubs i get to turn over a wee bit too much too often. monaccos are semi heavy shafts and kinda flighted. im finding these very easy to play , and lateral movement isnt what i thought it would be... its better.......,

i can get these to move a bit on call, not like the ns pros, those sing..., these are def a true temper kinda shaft with a bit more class.

the shafts definatly suit the head for feel a,nd performance, flight is realyl good , i played these on a very blowy day at longy and they worked brillinatly, the wind wasnt a significant factor compared to other pairings.dont have a 3 iron, i think id like one in this set tho. again these arnt going to break distance records but no blade does.. they are very accurate ... the more i play them the more im liking them.. thinki need a slighty heavier build tho.................,
