zwan
I am currently playing the Yamada Ibushi at 390 gramms and must say it feels really buttery off the face. Love it!
Blader-X
I'm still playing my G-Field M2 Plus with the legendary Premium Zone Insert. Back a few years ago the Premium Zones were quite popular. I had been playing the Anser style No. 1, but the offset of those just never agreed with me. The feel however was tremendous. I went to the mallet style M2 Plus one day and had instant success to which I haven't really changed since.

draven
Definitely the G-field Premium Zones... Great feel and put a great roll on the ball. Lately the Miura Km-007 if that counts.

Duffer19
The old statesman of Japanese putter makers is Hiro Matsumoto. I personally like the MG08 which is heavier at 550g for 34". Like the putter so much, I bought two, one to use Toronto and one in Hong Kong. Unfortunately most Matsu might exceed your $400 budget. supo
im lead to beleive the old man passed on and his son has taken over the business and gone on a differnt tact to dad . where hiro made THE best putters available, for very expensive amounts. the son has gone into a cheaper mind and delivers a much inferior product now. i got this from competitor of HM, wh o lso admitted the older HM putters are the best japanese putters ever made. bold statement............., but i cant see why a competior would say that if it wernt in fact true. ill say.. u hit the mz 07 and i doubt u will disagree. +TourSpecGolfer
ZOMO has been dead for a long time. I miss the Premium Zones too. Although I find a custom golds with the PZ milling and a heavy head to be the better feel and roll.
