Vegaman
Yeah, back in the day when the Speeder series came out it was the automatic choice. They dropped the ball? Or maybe they are still very successful without us knowing, ha ha
Craig
Supo You forgot to mention the chicks at the show. The Fujikura girls were in a league of their own
EPONfreak
I was having this same convo. wasn't THAT long ago that everyone had the 757 in the driver. interestingly I pulled my old TM tour issue woods out the other day that are Fuji shafted with ZCOMM MW74X, ZCOMM PRO80X in driver and fairway respectively. They felt heavy, they felt 'not tight' they did feel smooth. When the ball hissed off the bat and carried my usual mark i did wonder why i had spent so many thousands since then...... Vegaman
Yeah, the older Fuji stuff is probably still as good most new things..
corky3
LOt of US players playing the Tour spec Motore speeder line...... I still love the Rombax(specifically the 7V05 'Rory' ) but haven't tried the newer version (the colors are truly awful....) The Rombax platinum looks promising....... robbie
I still play fujikura from time to time but only the older stuff.....my all time fav was the Fujikura 771 TA and the Sapphire, followed by the Pro 95.....and the speeder six was a great light weight shaft but only the lightblue color model......somehow when fujikura changed the graphics, the shafts felt funky !!!!! I never bought any more fujis after that.....i still have a small stash of stuff like my favs as well as 857 boron and the 757 original black series and the dark gray series
idrive
Falling out of sight with the larger OEM's hasn't helped. For some reason I always had a hard time fitting myself with their shafts..

+TourSpecGolfer
I've got a 510TP with a 757 that I took out a couple months ago. Its dispersion is perfect the distance was average. Fujikura has really gone downhill in the last few years. They took their eye of the enthusiast and went after OEM sales, then many new brands joined the party and Fuji is hesitant to use high grade carbon. A shaft maker can only rely on design and graphics for so long while everyone is utilizing high end materials + design + style. Then there was the earthquake/tsunami. The factory was in the radiation zone and that must have really slowed them down.
supo
ah ah., i used to use the rombax , 7v05 i think it was. loved that shaft, had them in a cpl of fairways as well. then i tried quadra then crazy, the rest is history. now it seems GD is the OEMS favourite , the di- dj and BB in just about everything, hope they dont go down same road
robbie
After the Zcom stinkers, i never went back to fujikura.......I think the demise of the fujikura brand came when Mr Woods took to Diamana !
supo
i hardly see them in anything any more . the speeder 787 i see about a bit in x flex drivers a bit . but after i saw how my big mate hit it , and how badly is played for him i phoo phooed it completley. the guys a gorila, he shud be using th tatattas t2 thing and hed get 30 more yards... thats a shaft istil lsee lot the yellow black t2.. see a lot of them in xx flex. in fact se more of those in heavy flex than anythingelse. way too stiff for me, but goes to show i guess. that seems to be the shaft of choice for the lang ball lamas

supo
there a cpl of big kahooonas about ,i certianly wouldnt say they grow on trees here thast for sure.! theres a guy at my driving range that used to be a baseball player that got into hitting home runs ....but on the golf course...., hes amazing to watch. utterly huge, just bangs balls relentlessly to the top of the net at kasai. amazing stuff. obv, when i say i see these clubs about, its like 1 in every 30000000, ..., but the clubs i tend to notice are at that end of the spectrum rather than the reg flex stuff. and the attas t2 is more often than not in that head. i think thast the shaft for the big boys, i hate the thing feels like a metal rod, but it obv works a treat for the clobberers . IshikawaFAN
Motore Speeder vc TS 7.2 is a great shaft! I read they're coming out with a 7.3, instead of red paint on grip area, it's blue. I'm assuming after the 7.3 there will also be a 7.4 ....

xxio
The mediocrity of the Rombaxes and the "hotness" of the MRCs happening at the same thing did a bit of damage to the Fuji name. The Speeder VCs are great shafts. "7 ply". The damage was done and newer shafts have entered the market to further muddy up the picture in the $300 and up shaft market. Blader-X
I must say that I've got the 787 in a Royal Collection Spoon, the 13 degree and I don't like it one bit. While the dipersion is good, it just has absolutely no feel to it. I usually don't like to post bad reviews but I've really spent some time with now and can say that I'm not at all impressed with it. I don't think its the head because RC's usually have superb feel to them but who knows. I may pull the 787 and have the stock shaft placed back in to see. Yea that's for sure. The TourVS I have with the P9 is like butter. The newer TX and TR line remind me a lot of the old BBD's
IshikawaFAN
You guys should give the Vc line a go. They're actually quite smooth and accurate. Vc .1 + .2 are sweet shafts, especially for the price. I think the rombax z series is one of the best, still have one in my fw but 7.1 is smooth accurate and easier to load. I swung those 787 at the golf shop before, nowhere near as good and smooth as Vc line. Fuji might not float as much as other shafts but they definitely perform consistently and last long.
