gocchin
Yes Roddio are taper, which is why they are not on the official upgrade list for the Tour Model irons even though Roddio is offered by Yamaha for all their clubs. I have asked if Roddio can be specially put into the tour model (most likely meaning a bore) but its a long shot.
Duffer19
Wouldn't a taper tip shaft fits into a parallel hosel head? I am actually considering pulling a I-6 on my OnOff Red and putting it on my Legacy forged. No idea whether the Legacy is taper or parallel. Guess I thought wrong as One thing I know is T knows way more about this stuff than I...
RIduffer
Just looked up the Roddio and the website says 9.40. I had these in 2007. Nice. Maybe they make taper tip now? There was a rumor that another iron shaft was to be released by them. Quadra makes 9.18 tip iron shafts. I always wanted to try the Quadra Fire Express Prototype DGL shaft. http://www.compo-t.x...d/fireex04.html Fire Express PROTO TYPE DGL-115S -115S Fire Express Prototype DGL (¥ 120,000 tax) retail price Set of 6 [# 5 ~ # 10] ¥ 126,000 Individual [# 3, # 4, # 10] ¥ 21,000 before tax ( ¥ 20,000) ※ The delivery time can take a long time for low-volume production. Looked into QFE previously. Has the same length challenge that Roddio has. Also, if I am gonna do it after market, then everything is game. Am hoping I can get Roddio installed by Yam as it makes the whole endeavor cheaper. That unless T doesn't charge for disassembly and reassembly... bogeydog
I always wanted to try graphite in the tour heads but didn't like the idea of boring them out and the effects on value etc. Maybe that isn't a good reason but I haven't convinced myself. I don't have your length issue so I am going the spiffy but of the modus with be the ticket.
RIduffer
Modus is a great shaft, I made the move to graphite for joint relief and to help bucket list objective to die broke... I still play a heavier graphite and dump ~44 grams of additional weight in the butt of my clubs so it isn't saving weight. Just minimizing vibrations that make it to my hands and arms... gocchin
Slippin.... its called overworking! Can you imagine how many models of clubs and shafts and specs I store in my head?? (^_^) The Diamana is a tough shaft... heavy, stiff, like steel... they have not been that popular... maybe with very strong 115mph swingers only... I'm gaming the Thumps in X and they feel great to me, maybe a bit less feedback at impact than steel but much better on the body at off center hits. You must be a good player then (^_^). There are definitely those who benefit from the Thump over steel and many of those players are pros or scratch golfers. Definitely the Thump will still have good vibration absorption properties... when I said like steel I meant stiffness as in most cases (crazy iron shafts aside) graphite will play softer... did you ever have the CPM checked? I have seen technical date from the manufacturer but would love to see some real world numbers.

Ian-500
I played some Quadra 4AX SOF 100i in stiff. My club builder said that they CPM'd as regular. I forget what the numbers where though :(

jaygolf
I just can't get used to looking down and seeing graphite shafts on my irons. That and I like to know that I can throw a club in the bushes without the shaft getting all scratched up. :)

gocchin
Yamaha has also released 200 limited tour bags, same bags used by Fujita and Taniguchi, their top pros. White and Turqoise Blue (Fujita pro) Silver and Red (Taniguchi) I doubt there are many left since the Japanese cannot resist anything that says limited edition pro model... shacco
I'm a bit confused. It says that the tour muscle back is the same MOI as the 2012 tour model. So it is as forgiving? And what about the non tour model. Even more forgiving then? So are we talking onoff forged forgiveness with the 2013 non tour model? That sounds too good to be true. A super forgiving iron with the appearance of a muscle back. Would be happy if someone could clarify. Sent from my Galaxy Nexus
