Posted November 25, 201212 yr Ok it's getting that time of the year when Santa turns up ... So it's new iron time!! Short list: Epon 302 in Copper....didn't have no luck with the 502's but like Epon Yamaha 2013 irons ... To match the Trio of woods inbound!! Onoff 2013's.... If these are half as good as my 2012's I'd be happy.. But I fancy a change :-( Oh and what's my 4-PW Onoffs worth ??
November 25, 201212 yr Out of that list I'd choose the Yamahas. Give yourself more headaches by adding RomaRo and PRGR to your list!
November 25, 201212 yr The RomaRo stuff is def worth a shot. Copper 302s would be right up there. I either want to sell mine and buy copper or have mine refinished this winter. I personally am not enamored with the Yamaha aesthetics but I am sure they are a fabulous iron. I just ordered a combo set of Ray H and Pro Forged from RomaRo I am pretty stoked about.
November 26, 201212 yr I'm playing both the Yamaha 2012 tourmodel & Miura BB. I guess Yamaha really screams quality and performance just addicted with them. I'll get Yamaha 2013 you can't go wrong with those.
November 26, 201212 yr i'm an avid blade player but just got to hit 4dr.no's 302's yesterday and holy crap! i've never hit a cb that felt as good as my mb's. i had the new yami and romaro blades on my short list but now i WANT a set of 302's!

November 26, 201212 yr I'd go 302s in that list but you should really take a look at the Romaro H irons. I have not hit these but they look very good, little offset, thin top line and a great size.
November 26, 201212 yr I highly recommend the Yamaha's, if you like the onoff forged..you will probably love the Yamaha's!!!
November 26, 201212 yr well mr i-drive might just agree with you here. Yup Jeff loves his choco covered epons. Those were the best irons I have ever owned

November 26, 201212 yr I am really intrigued by the new Yamaha irons line up. I really cannot imagine that a muscle back design can be nearly as forgiving as a cavity back. I know Yamaha claims that they achieved the same MOI as the 2012 cavity backs, but it is hard to believe. I am really interested in the first reviews.
November 26, 201212 yr Author 302 modus. just like old times! Yep C, but you also know why I hesitate !!;-) As for the Yams, I too can't see how the blade design can give forgiveness like a CB
November 26, 201212 yr 302 modus. just like old times! It doesn´t get any better than this! The only thing I would upgrade to, is the same set with a copper finish. Too bad nobody wants to get rid of their set. ;)
November 26, 201212 yr Yep C, but you also know why I hesitate !!;-) As for the Yams, I too can't see how the blade design can give forgiveness like a CB Because it basically is a cavity back design. The only difference between the Yamaha tour model and a normal players cavity back is a little bit of steel on the toe and heel to connect the perimeter weighting seen along the bottom and top line. I'm not dogging the design or the concept just stating the facts. Calling it a blade is a misnomer.
November 27, 201212 yr Just get the 302's in copper chrome already ;-) and may as well get matching copper chrome wedges while you order them.... got a 50 degree myself to go with the 301's (and then the forged TM ATV's for the fiddly 56 and 64 stuff.... in desperate hope it may help my clunky short game) Copper chrome...mmmmmmmmm.
November 27, 201212 yr AF-302...check Modus 3 stiff...check Red golf pride grip and epon ferrules...check check Copper finish...check That sounds like a set I know that might be available...
November 27, 201212 yr I'm ahead of you there 3 new Copper Wedges have been ordered!! well, in that case.. I don't think you have any real option except to get a set of 302's in copper chrome. It's not like you're going to regret it. Just get fitted for the perfect shaft for them, to save any faffing around later. And I still love & recommend Gripmaster leather grips... gloves not needed.
