th6252
Went to Golf Town again today and they just got the URX in today. The guy who was stocking the shelves didn't even know the price. Well, I asked him to check and it's about $45 Cdn.That's $20 less than the ProV1 and $15 less than the HX Tour. I'll definitely will give it a try when we finally can play here in a month or so. haribo $45 in TO haribo means about $50 here , still that is a pretty good price . If they get here before the season starts :) Now if I like them and I can play them I just might have a new ball to play this year :D Yeah, I'm thinking the same. Like the Pro V1 (don't like the X). Got a feeling I gonna love the HX Tour (was a big fan of the old Rule 35, but never tried any of the other Callaway balls) but if the URX is on the same level as these two, I don't have a problem saving myself 15 -20 bucks for the dozen. haribo it's strange the urx's go for so cheap up there. here in st. louis, the urx's are going for the same price as the x's, and the hx tours are going for a few $'s less. th6252
haribo , there was a guy in my foursome who was in AZ a couple of weeks ago . He was using the new ball today . It is called a ED 333 . If I'm not mistaken. The 333 stands for the amount of dimpels as this ball has a odd number of them . For what purpose I have no idea . Guess, you mean the AD333. That's a 2 piece ball. The prototype ball the Pro's are using, Davies, Jiminez &Co., is not been released yet. Believing the Srixon website it will be released in April. Too bad the UR-X didn't make a good first impression. Hope you got more luck with it in Vegas. haribo actually, the prototype he's talking about is called the hr-x 333. the ad 333 is basically just the replacement for their old hi-spin line...a good ball but hardly their top dog. haribo
Regarding the new prototype ball, I emailed Srixon. Here's their answer: "The new ball will be called HRX-333. It has a higher compression than the URX with the same dimple pattern at the AD333. Over all it produces less spin." haribo

I backed up a ball 5 feet in the apron w/ a pitching wedge. That's stupid.
ChiliDip
The new ball will be called is HRX, with a compression around 103. Comparing it to the UR-X, less spin off the driver and irons, firmer feeling off the wedges and putter, and more durable. For me about 10-15 yards longer than the UR-X, short game performance different in that I thought the HRX was more of a drop and stop ball. According to the rep that I spoke with should be released in the states by mid-april (look for the gold foil srixon box), at about the same price as the URX

That sounds very interesting. So, the HRX is gonna be even longer, less spin and more of a drop and stop ball. How will it compare to the HX Tour????? I never really liked the Pro V1X. Yes, I gained about 10 yards with the driver but my irons went not as far anymore. My swingspeed is right at the border but not exactly where it needs to be for this ball. The Pro V1 is the better choice for me. That's why I'm very interested in balls like the HX Tour or the UR-X or the new HRX. Well, considering that the UR-X just got released here it will probably take longer than mid-April before I can find out for myself what I think of the HRX ... haribo
holla
i like the ur-x better than either the hx tour or the proV1x, and i believe i have the swingspeed for any of these balls. the ur-x gets gets up, goes and stops. i'll certainly give the hr-x a try, though. if it truly is drop and stop it will probably be in my bag. michaelt
UR-X is a good ball. Long and good feel off all clubs. Better than the Strata Tour Ace which is a little too firm for my liking.

holla
haribo, unless you spin the absolute CRAP out of the ball i think you will love the ur-x. it is soft, longer for me than either of the 2 kings and at least as straight. it stops, too, where i want it to and feels good. As of now I don't spin the crap out of a ball. At least not all the time. Well, that might change with the arrival of my new Scratch wedges... In any case, I'm intrigued enough to give the URX a try when we finally can play here. In the meantime if anybody has some updates on the diff between the URX and the HX Tour, I would apppreciate it. As always! Thanks, haribo

I really should shoot better scores than I do
