P-Tune PG313

P-Tune PG313 looks to be pretty popular in Japan.

It is supposedly the fist component manufacturer to utilize a adjustable hosel.

Head shape is pretty nice as well.

How are these in terms of quality?

I like the face shape, also judging by the illustration about COG, it looks like a very low spin design? Didn't tsupo mention he used a P-tune driver? Or have I dreamed that up, ha ha?

I heard that these heads are currently sold out in many shops in Japan and very hard to get.

I'm a believer in the low and forward CoG. I think low and away changes the dynamics at impact and adds loft. I have less pop ups with my low and forward CoG driver. You just have to go up in loft to keep launch ideal.

Hmm, sounds like my experience with the 611 mizuno head. Went to 10 and have zero issues with too much spin or a too high launch.

Kenmochi had an adjustable component driver for nearly 2 years now.

P-Tune is a line from Pigeon Golf here in Japan... they are VERY VERY small, and mostly popular with smaller golf shops and clubmakers.

Most of their exposure is in golf magazines like Choice.

They do not produce a lot of stock which is probably why availability is low.

I think we can get it if anyone wants to try.

I read on the TM site last year that the RBZ Non Tour had that design. Outside that plug is low and away. It is cosmetic. I emailed TM and they confirmed that internally on the non Tour RBZ the weight is low and forward. I kept making sure because I really wanted a low and forward CoG but really did not want to buy white and TM. No other choice at the time. Now with a DI nothing has come close.

  • 4 months later...

I thought I was the only one using this driver and today discovered two more members here who were gaming it.

Please share your thoughts on the P-Tune PG313!!

I bought an extra sleeve when i got my head.

Unlike other manufacturers, they actually sell sleeves individually.

And yes, they are reusable.

Slightly larger diameter ferrule required, but available thru the bay

What's the ball flight, roll, forgives wise compared to the usual ryoma and 435 suspects?

What's the ball flight, roll, forgives wise compared to the usual ryoma and 435 suspects?

Ball flight.... mine is mid.

But as you know, it's all relative.

Your swing, degree, and shaft.

It rolls a lot.... more than t 388.

it is more forgiving than any other small drivers.

Distance? I hate to say this....... but longer than my grandprix gpx, ryoma ST, maxima, crazy 460, t 388, jbeam 435R, zero, yamaha, romaro, rbz, and D913.

Again... it's all relative and about the shaft on the head.

But I love the feel, sound..... everything about it.

You should definitely try it!! you will be pleasantly surprised.

I am not surprised by Tae's comments. It's actually that good!

I did an 8 driver shootout on trackman a few weeks back and P-Tune came out as top dog.

Will be doing another trackman session within the next couple of weeks against some Endo drivers: Yamaha V203, Epon Zero , Mizuno Craft 611 and Toustage 709

Stay tuned !!

Interesting.... What the price range like, in comparison to the other high enders out there?

My Lajosi Damascus is simply lovely. It feels slightly firmer with the light face milling. Good thing with Lajosi is you can custom make basically anything to your fancy for one third the price of other custom makers out there.

I've game/ collect TP mills handmade, Tad Moore, Bettinardi customs, Miura, and Lajosi are amongst those brand up there in terms of quality.

Same price bracket as most other high end driver heads. Just a lot harder to get hold of...

I recently demoed the PG313, unfortunately the shaft was a terrible match for me - so I can't comment on performance. Its a thing of beauty though...

These are not hard to get a hold of at all. PM Tario if you want one.
