Mjr. D
Apparently this thing is coming to the market soon. $1000, Lee Westwood was playing it. 125T carbon... This should be an interesting thread. I doubt there's a single fan on this forum who likes Aldila. http://golf wrx/109312/do-you-need-1000-shaft/

+TourSpecGolfer
One of the biggest issues with 80T is how the shaft feels. Brands work around this by design but I'm curious how they make 125T feel good. Also is it full length 125t?
jimmieboi
Not JDM so I just pass this one. Crazy in 125T... I'll get it
gocchin
Some people actually like the more glassy feel of 80t. The issue with 80t it is more delicate due to the larger proportion of glass particles in the shaft. Heck with 125t, the shaft could shatter on a miss hit! ant
wow! not all might be lost for you tho given Mitsubishi Rayon owns Aldila now. Not JDM so I just pass this one. Crazy in 125T... I'll get it
supo
ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh do they just.. so i presume they wil be made here from now on ?
ant
dunno man, have no inside dope on that. i think that it would make sense for them to leverage mitsubishi materials and manufacturing to cut costs because aldila even tho they had they own prepreg manufacturing they werent doing so good in profits. whether they gonna keep the actual manufacturing in us or japan dunno, i dont even know if mitsubishi shafts are made in japan because mitsubishi has manufacturing in us and elsewhere. Robb40
Forgive my club Ho snobbery but $1000 and the word Aldila do not go together. Take a zero away and yes I can see that. This may in fact be a killer shaft but it will be hard to convince people that Aldila has taken such a huge step. $1000 is a huge leap. ant
to be honest i think any 1k shaft is hugely overpriced especially in comparison to its real production cost for any major manufacturing company. the only shaft from that range that i have tried was tphd which used to be around 1k at release and its nice shaft and all but it did absolutely nothing to justify its price tag to me, it just didnt deliver any huge gap between itself and everything else that cost 2-3 times less, apart from its price so it wasnt anything like i could turn around and say oh now i see why it cost 1k. Mjr. D
In all honesty and obsessive equipment ho'ing aside, unless you are a scratch golfer/pro, spending anything over $350 on a shaft is probably a waste of money. My swing reeks, I'm a half decent golfer that has no business spending what I do on golf equipment. A $150 lesson would do more for me than any $500-$1000 shaft ever would but most of us on here are golf equipment enthusiasts, regardless or not if it's practical. By all means, I'm fine with that and especially if it's not a financial concern. I simply do this because I enjoy technology, collecting, and knowing I have something hi-tech and unique. I have fun with it and there's nothing wrong with that. Speaking realistically however, a 10HC spending $500-$1000 on a shaft is pretty much a waste of money, haha. Oh well! ant
dunno man, i thought for your club head speed and probably aggressive transition and release those what should we call them extra premium shafts can actually make some difference like you can get something thats real stiff and recovers real quick but at the same time still has some nice feel to it in which case you could say ok this is what premium materials do for me and this is what i pay for but anyways while i'm not even close to being a ho by internet forum standards i know what you are saying. Robb40
I currently have the best driver combo ever. The shaft is a Crazy labomba Ly. I purchased it used For $350. It has been worth every penny. Would I give $750 retail for it. I am really not sure. This combo cost me $750. Worth it but at retail it would be $1600. Can't justify that even though it is the longest ever for me.
