Mjr. D
Love the Ryoma but I can't hit it straight enough. Hooks. I have a Diamana X in a Callaway Razr FIT and it performs great, but it's a blemish in an otherwise very nice jSpec bag. Can't have that... way too much of a snob for that. I'm considering the following. Maruman Conductor Pro X forged 8.5 Callaway Japan Legacy Black Tour Authentic TourStage X-Drive 709 440CC Tourstage X-Drive 909 Last years Tourstage X-Drive 707. Yamaha Remix I need to be able to set it to 8 or 8.5. Neutral face and of course, low spin/low launch characteristics. Any other drivers I should be considering? Anything new coming out soon? Thoughts, advice? Appreciate it, guys.

EdGolf
I'm surprise the P-tune PG313 is not on your list.... Seem to be having some raving reviews from thse who have tried it.... Forgiveness of Ryoma and distance of S Yard & J Beam

IshikawaFAN
I haven't hit it but the srixon 725 has my attention... anyone hit this head yet?
Mjr. D
P-Tune doesn't come in 8.5 I don't think... Srixon 725 isn't adjustable is it? Anyone try last years Tourstage 707 or this years 709 440 head?
JayDM
Question: Why only adjustable drivers? Also, something that might only come as low as 9* can launch and fly lower than an 8.5* if its a head designed to fly lower, or you pair it with a lower, tighter shaft. Mjr. D
That is true. Because I've been stung by the last two JDM non adjustable drivers I've bought (Egg 7 and Ryoma Maxima), both claiming to be square at address yet both are actually closed somewhat. I figure with an adjustable driver head, this won't happen again. Not sure what's coming down the pipe in 2014 but I love Tourstage irons, my tourstage fairway so I'm guessing one of their drivers would work well for me. The Ptune PRGR looks interesting as well. JayDM
You've had or have the Crazy 435 right? Might wanna give the j beam 425 Tour a shot if you haven't yet, just remembered the last few days exactly why its my favorite driver, would be right up your alley I would think, and when you order from them you get EXACTLY what you request. This year's Yamaha Tour model in 9* might suit as well, that has quite a low launch and it goes a long way. Kamui KPX wont go left AT ALL, and you can really go after it, comes in an 8.5*. Know these aren't adjustable, just trying to think of things that might suit. For someone that gets the club moving as quickly as you do, my advice would be buy a driver that's designed to handle swings like yours, that's designed to hold up to high SS's and not hook rather than relying on face angle, my thought process here is that the drivers you've hit recently probably would have hooked on you even if they setup dead square, just wouldn't have been as pronounced as it was with a closed face. You seem to wanna give the Tourstage a go though, if that's what you want to try, buy it, if you want an adjustable driver, grab one, because the best suggestion I can make is to get what you personally like and what you think would work well for you, in the end we all wind up having unique experiences with gear. driverhead
P-Tune doesn't come in 8.5 I don't think... The lowest loft setting for the PTUNE is 9.25, with a one degree open face. I have hit it the last 2 days. It is as anti left as any driver Ive ever hit, and I am a Right to left player and have the setting at 11.25 1 degree closed, and I am hitting dead straight to killer power fades. This is my 2nd round with it and control and distance is so good, I put it into play in a 2 day tournament this weekend with as good of overall driving results as I could hope for. . I missed one FW slightly right , and completely eliminated the left side miss. I am using a kUSULA BLUE 56 S at 45.75 inches. The feel is fantastic, super forgiving and a very explosive soild hit with a T338 penetrating type trajectory and roll out. That is a good thing Edited September 28, 2013 by driverhead

nobmontana
I have played the p tune all summer and it has served me well. I don't think it will come out of the bag anytime soon. I had a maxima in 8.5 but p tune in 9 deg flies lower. I think if you had the right tip stiff shaft, the p tune could defintely work for you. Mjr. D
Good to know, thanks! I can probably play a 9.25 (real loft) with the right shaft, for sure. I have a Diamana X I can use it it. The new Romaro coming out looks impressive too, though!
+TourSpecGolfer
If I had your power I would be looking here: TRPX D-013 8-8.5* Jbeam 425 Tour ( we would have to hand pick loft around 9* for you ) Ptune PG-313 9.25* Maxima w/ most open face angle we can choose SYD 388 hand pick lowest loft 9.-9.25ish, open face
stevopagolf
I might be one of the very few here to try the TM Gloire Reserve. It is adjustable, it is long, it is forgiving. I don't like that it is a white head, but the carbon face and the technology in the design is for real. Hit it anywhere on the face and it goes. I have always disliked the TM product except for the 510 TP and SQ 282, but this has the Ryoma sitting on the rack. I was shocked...

Feel isn't that awkward either the issue is Mjr.D needs something that can handle ludicrous speeds and fly low with little spin.

The 425 is a beast and the ptune gives great results. The 388 was good not great for me. The TPRX has potential. I think any of the ones listed would be able to handle very high SS numbers as long as the shaft complemented the head and SS.

Yes, he is not a mortal with his crazy club head speed and 9.5* is the lowest loft of the Gloire Reserve. I was absolutely surprised on the forgiveness, feel and sound of the Gloire. Of the JDM clubs frequently mentioned on the forum this gets no play which is a shame as it would fit the majority of the folks here. I was a TM hater which makes my results more surprising. Mjr D is a freak for sure!

Mjr D is a freak for sure! Like my Gloire so much that I bought two. My brother borrowed it once and found he gains about 20 yards from his Miura so now, the gloire is his. Steveo, you have the regular Gloire or the Reserve? Besides launches a bit high, the driver is increditablely forgiving and good feel.
