Honma TW717 455 Driver

Recommended Posts

In the Tour World series Honma features 3 drivers all suited to different levels of the athlete player. 430/455/460cc's.

Interestingly Honma may have used Endo on one of them while not the other two. This 455 is the one, the main way to spot that is it uses "VL Titanium" in the face and "chemical milling" as a process for the crown in KS100, and that's pretty standard Endo stuff, while both the 430 & 460 use G4 Titanium and 3AL-2.5V Titanium / Forged. So who doesn't want to try an Endo made Honma driver like this?

It comes stock at 45.5" which is short by Honma's standards and square faced as standard with a neutral weighting of 4g weights on each side.

They offer high kick point shafts too, like the TZ75 or TZ65 which are pretty stout. Supposedly you become a Victorious Wizard when you hit this shaft.

Looking forward to hitting it!

I have tried a few Honma drivers. My favorite to date is the Perfect switch 440. The Armrq shafts are always excellent.

Saw these Tour World drivers several times now, they really look super good. Finish on these is second to none, and great head shapes.

I've never owned anything Honma but DAMN their stuff looks good. I could bag that driver and a couple their irons easily.

It's not for your Mjr.D, while very great you need like real sqaure and low. Mizuno Yoro driver can have custom specs and also Kamui Works, for you half degree open will look square.

TRPX X-Line Heavy Spec or Quadra TPV7 or 8 or a Tipped XXX flex TRPX Air all fun options.

Not sure if they would work for you just ideas.

That looks awesome. Such a beautiful driver.

Tried all 3 and this 455 was my favourite. Best for feel, forgiveness and looks.

That sucks. I Axtually only swing about 115-120 now. Hurt my left shoulder and I'm old and washed up.

The TW717 430 version, the Black one in 8.5 should be right up your alley? It should be lower spin than the 455 or 460. It looks fantastic in person, stealthy black, sets up square

Ya I love the look! Was a bit thrown off that the 455 version is made at endo, of better materials, though. The other two aren't.

Yeah, saw that too..Honma QC should be great regardless though. The feel might be better with the Endo VL face, yes

The next time I visit Annandale Golf, which is one of my area's JDM stores, I want to try one of these. Never been the greatest driver, but ever since I got fitted for the R1 and Regio 65, my confidence for drivers is really good. I know the in the demo driver may not be the best for me, but I'm gonna' give a whirl anywho. I'll post my thoughts when I do. I really need to get over the whole JDM driver thingy. :p
