July 22, 201410 yr Your forum... Seeing Epon in a USDM forum, while I see your logic, will confuse many. Why not something like Boutique, JDM and USDM... Don't see many boutique non-JDM around and EPON fits nicely there, JDM for the RomaRo, Tourstage, TMAG Japan, Srixon, etc... and USDM for Global products like Miura NA, Titleist, Cobra and the like... I agree that it is somewhat confusing to see Epon as a USDM, for me at the very least. However I don't know very much about JDM and spend my time here looking and trying to understand the products. I rather expect all production to have ambitions of entering the global market and competing on the world stage. A bit more complicated from the marketing point of view, but very rewarding as only a very large market can reward. Shambles
July 23, 201410 yr Author We are jacking this thread, I'll start a poll with 4 options and let you guys choose, whatever the case all roads lead to something good.
July 31, 201410 yr Author Word is that some of the main TourStage players don't want to play the Bridgestone gear including balls and that includes Ai-chan. FYI all JDM to USDM crossover brands will remain in the JDM forum !
July 31, 201410 yr I guess the funny thing is that they don't need to play different gear, just rebrand the stuff they use... Or am I oversimplifying a name change...
August 1, 201410 yr Those are actually pretty beefy looking and nice but I do miss the Tourstage name and tech.
August 1, 201410 yr I guess the funny thing is that they don't need to play different gear, just rebrand the stuff they use... Or am I oversimplifying a name change... Not necessarily. I've noticed that USDM products have a tendency to run a bit heavier and a bit stiffer than JDM. They will have to make a decision as to whether to stay with their original formula or make changes to suit what the market is already used to, or might just make the slightly different assembly for each market. Ping ran a bit lighter than the normal USDM but still did very well so maybe they will test the waters with their original formula and make a change if that doesn't penetrate the market. Shambles
August 1, 201410 yr Wonder what's going to happen to all the different "Tourstage" golf balls presently made for the Japan marketplace.
