proquick72
I recently tried to go back to USDM as it was a bit cheaper than jdm but I'm not quite happy with my full set of pings. First off I'm a +4 handicap with a relatively fast swing. I have a kamui 456 driver that is longer than my new ping driver but my specs have changed a bit. I probably want to go with the new kamui air or something similar. I'm looking for a three wood that I can work both ways and hit high or low and the same with irons. I would prefer a blade or smaller cavity. How are Geotech blades compared to something like yururis? The 1-sw is intriguing. I have yururi wedges but the leading edge on the blades look really sharp and I play often in wet conditions. Thank you for any help. corky3
I don't suspect there are many +4 handicaps here...... if yer shooting +4 its hard to believe you can get much better so just play what looks good you should be building our bags
RLL33
Last year's Yamaha RMX Tour MB's are awesome irons. Very compact and precise, and you can really make the honeycomb face talk -- in any language. As for damp weather wedges, I wouldn't go Yururi -- unless you're looking to dig furrows long and deep for seeding purposes... <g>
+TourSpecGolfer
Much depends on your budget and what you want. I ask because you are coming from Ping and considering Geotechs. Do you mean you average 4 under par or 4 over par? You said "+" I think the new 2015 Yamaha Tour Model CB and Wedges are a good choice for that level. Modart Driver or FW, TS358 FW, Royal Collection 306V FW all worthy considerations. Your game is super solid and you worked hard for years to get there, you deserve some top notch gear and really JDM doesn't have to be all that expensive. Lowest tournament this year was 65 but this year wasn't as consistent as I'd like. I need to look at those options. Whatever driver and fairway I get will probably be shafted with Graphite designs. The Modart looks awesome!
needmoregolf
For wedges, I found the SYard Bolds to be better wedges in wet fluffy conditions as opposed to dry harder ones. The new NiCr Satin finish will hold up nicely too if you're playing in damp conditions frequently. If you like Yururi, those new Tataki's seem to be better all around compared to the Tour/Raw's. My Tours get me in trouble sometimes because of the sharp leading edge and soft feel, especially when its the conditions are wet/soft, but so far, the Tataki's have not led me astray, and most of my golf is played in the early mornings when it's damp out. Good luck on your search, this is going to be fun for you! ;) Edited October 7, 2014 by needmoregolf
supo
lush grass or wet , prob go a bigger bounce no ? bolds hit the ball low but deadly straight, theres no real getting funky with them. spin control is superb. bounce is BIG. they are as easy to hit as anything ever. and conforming. if u like a pear shape , mid to thin sole width then the tourstage 2013 wedges have a medium to higher bounce and u can get as funky as u like with them' bend them to any degree , angle u like matters not . for all round wedges nothing ive seen over the last 2 seasons is even CLOSE to these for versatility/performance conforming. irons , well thats so hard to choose, but u might want too look at getting a set of miuraisms made. matusyamas srixon blades are sensational for what u play on, thicker sole for a blade. nothing feels better thats for sure. for a cavity muscle.,... the callaways from last year, ishikawa and phils ones, are magnificent! and ull get those for a good price! the taylor made TP blades, i think sergio is using them tour prefered maybe(??????) look great. 3 wood prob the tourstage one from last yr, not sure of its model name, chiromikey play it , swears by it, hes pretty good , id go with that . recco. drivers . thats a whooooooooooooole new thread , right there. proquick72
I have come to a conclusion about my driver and wedges, but I am a little lost on fairway woods. How would the Geotech RF800 compare to Kamui and jBeam heads? Looking to order a 3 and 5 wood next week.
