Had this for 4 rounds and hit about 100 range balls with it. Just broke on the course today. It was a pulled shaft but was perfect on inspection before install. Straight install, no weights, regular epoxy. Installed in a Ryoma V1 V-Spec.

Has anyone had this happen before with an FEX? Never had this happen in 25+ years. The shaft was great, smooth, stable, not dependent on timing. It is a FEX WBQ 75 SX. Anyone know if it is salvageable for a 3 wood shaft with some tipping? I know it has metal filaments in the tip.

I only pulled it twice. Really shocked at what has happened here.

Have to say Noboru has been great after I shared with him the information, even offered a full refund. I could not take it though as I had it installed and played it for a month. Great shaft and would play again. Bad luck I guess.

Any chance your bag tipped over... fell off the cart.... slammed it down hard after missing a tee shot etc.

The higher end shafts are much more fragile. Your pic looks just like a Crazy RD that snapped on me

on the 9th hole in the middle of an important tourny I was playing in a year a go.

Nope, I am super careful with all my clubs. I carry and always make sure the bag is stable. Never slammed it down or leaned on it, not my thing.

Never haapened other shafts.

First I see if a FEX breaking at the tip... odd !! I've pull mine like 3-4 times and nothing like this yet

100 rocks, huh, I mean range balls. Hit from a mat?? The Tips on Quadra Shafts are "thin wall" tips with glass in them. The Tips are very strong laterally but very suspect on the longitude plane. Every exotic Shaft that comes through my shop gets a "Do's and Don'ts" insert sheet to help prevent putting any pressure on the Tip. Where your Shaft sheared off has the fingerprint of longitude failure. That small layer of graphite sticking out sends a signal that the Shaft may have twisted a bit while still hot.

Final rant.....mats do not belong in Golf......period.

I think it is time for me to invest in a new shaft puller tool that will pull the head with minimal heat.

What would be your recommendation? I was thinking about the Roberts hydraulic but a bit concerned that it will put too much

mechanical pressure on the hosel before any epoxy breakdown starts.

Goodsie, no mats, tee in grass, NXT Tour Practice balls at the club. Thanks for the input on the problems. I know it was installed right as I watched him set it. No sheet as you say though, just straight in with the grip alignment. I miss having you work on my clubs when I was in TX. Great work. Maybe I just swing to hard. haha.
