+TourSpecGolfer
My gamer is: Jbeam Glorious 10* - 0.5 closed - Stock Shaft 45.25" - Foamed Head This thing is something else, the only negative is it's a bit loud so I had it foamed and built by our crew in Japan and WOW, wow, wow. If Jbeam foamed all their heads! It's 50.00 offered by TSG for foaming FYI it adds about 3grams weight. Next I'm foaming the ONOFF 358 Driver. nobmontana
Do you guys use the Expancel stuff? Also, I have read somewhere that foaming impacts sound, weight and spin rate. I would be interested to know how much of impact it has on spin rate. Are you seeing lower spin with your foamed head? Fore Left!
3G of equally distributed weight should have no real world effect on spin or launch.
Leffe
What kind of foam are used?
needmoregolf
what type of real world performance differences do you see so far with the foam, Chris?
Vegaman
The foam gives a more muted sound, which in turn improves the feel. Usually no other performance differences. A better sounding/feeling driver is of course a big deal in itself
squishyy
How does it hold up in hot or cold weather? Would it freeze ns become rock hard during winter or will it be wet and soggy during the summer which in turn may cause rust therefore have a negative impact on strength of face. +TourSpecGolfer
Foam has been around a long time, it's nothing new. It's a substance put into the head and then baked in a small oven and then expands. It's for the most part equally distributed throughout the open head space and the affect is really just 3g + a more muted feel and sound. It's done in Japan, I don't know what the label says it's not a U.S product nor does it have english writing on the container. It will void warranty just as most mods do, it's "possible" to acquire a rattle over time but as for extreme weather no problems I've seen. Shankopotamus
If it didn't void warranty I'd give this a try for a new purchase coming shortly. Does TSG works accept older, used heads for this service? Edited February 5, 2015 by Shankopotamus
