jonbev78
Now i've finally got my irons, wedges and putter set up. I'm looking at JDM woods, starting off with fwys. What do you guys recommend. I'm looking for something hot, smallish, shallow face and most of all easy to elevate off the deck. I prefer to use a 4-5 wood 16-17* anything lower and its too long for me as i hit the ball longer than average. Look forward to hearing your recommendations.. Thanks Edited February 12, 2015 by jonbev78
Vegaman
Callaway Legacy Black, Srixon, either last years Z725 FW or the current Z F45. All compact and pretty shallow faced. Same goes for the Honma TW fairways, either last years 717 or the new 727.

nobmontana
I currently use an Epon AF-202HT ( High Trajectory ) from a few years back. Ti head, a bit expensive..... but it is the most forgiving fairway wood I have ever owned! Very shallow but not too massive looking. Best of all, has a trajectory of a 4 wood but distance of a 3 wood!! I have mine paired up with a Diamana Al'Islei 83 from a few years back, and boy, this combo is truly flawless! I do not change my 3 wood too often simply because I feel it is the most challenging club in my bag to hit it right, especially off the deck. My back up is a 2007 JDM Taylormade VSteel paired with a Rombax Prototype 80B.
Shankopotamus
Older Yamaha head also very good +2. Have a 3w w/ AD DJ. This combo is easy to get up and as long as any 3w I've hit. A 5w should suit you well. Also have a Glorious fw incoming soon. Will leave a review soon after I've had some suitable time with it, but I do believe it will be extremely easy to hit off the deck. Bravo36
+3 Something about the Yamaha FWs that are just easy. Easy on the eyes, easy to swing, and easy to hit long and straight.
stevopagolf
I have the Epon HT 202 3wd as well. Super easy to hit. I hit it very high. Have some others I haven't been able to try due to the weather. I have a XXIO 4wood and a Callaway Alpha. The Callaway Alpha is adjustable for loft which is interesting. supo
syard xv but thats 18* the egg spoon is defiantly a winner, thers a 16.5* new model that is fantastic., thats prettty easy from the deck and its good from the tee, its a very specific shape, if u like that shape tho its terrific, it not vey shallow it has a high face but u can smash it.. thats a great idea. failing that the old roy coll bbd is a beauty
jet127
Same situation with me. Waiting on the review of the Glorious fw before deciding.

Vegaman
Thanks Chaps, Been surfing the site and i am thinking the PRGR egg spoon maybe the way to go. Seems to have what i'm looking for. The PRGR is a great FW, but it's neither smallish (actually larger than most) or shallow faced (rather deep faced in fact) so hardly matches ehst you asked for? Icestorm959
Egg spoon is pretty shallow, my egg 3W is about same shallowness as a Titleist 913 5 Wood and definitely shallower than my mate's Ping G30 3W. That said it is quite a big head. Edited February 14, 2015 by Icestorm959
