+TourSpecGolfer
The new PRGR Egg drivers just released for sale on september 11th, a few weeks ago in the blog we covered the Super Egg non conforming version, today we are showing you pre release photos of the conforming version known as the 2015 Egg Driver ( no super ). This deep faced 460cc driver holds nothing back in terms of technology and materials, PRGR uses a titanium (Ti-6Al-4V) face with a titanium (Ti-8Al-1V-1Mo) body. Available in 2 lofts 10 & 11 degree's the standard face angle is listed at 2* open but the driver looks and plays very square, this is due to the unique methods prgr uses to design, manufacture, and measure their clubs. Ultra Deep Face, the new Conforming Egg Driver really raises high center of the club face making it great for forgiveness and players who miss high and low on the face. Overall after hitting the new egg driver for a couple of rounds it is indeed an excellent compromise between a players driver that packs enough forgiveness for a mid handicapper to use. This deep face produced a nice soft feel that wasn't hollow this is a straight of PRGR drivers a nice dense feel. The sweet spot seems big as mis**ts are punished less than other similar sized clubs, like all egg drivers the spin is low, trajectory is a true medium and the ball flight is very penetrating, it's a common theme with PRGR's players drivers. Like the super egg non conforming version it has the power flange to help increase rebound when coming off the face. While PRGR classifies this driver as high launch none of our testers found this as in 10* it played what we considered true to loft. As you can see in the below image -2.0 open face angle looks square so don't let this sway you it's simply the method PRGR uses to measure. Flexes are R2/R/SR/S in PRGR's original design shafts and there are custom shafts available through PRGR or more exotic options such as hot melt, foaming, and ultra top end shaft options from TSG Club Works. Mjr. D
Would someone like myself be able to hit this without spinning and launching it to the moon? I've never attempted to play a 10* driver... How does it compare to the Epon Zero and Maxima Type V?
Mjr. D
And why would they go from a 7* driver in their EGG Seven and One driver, claim it's not to be intimidated by and now with this head move all the way up to 10*. Seems like a contradiction...
Mob
Left handed version?

I've never attempted to play a 10* driver... How does it compare to the Epon Zero and Maxima Type V? I think you could but make sure you have a stable high kick shaft for your speeds. And why would they go from a 7* driver in their EGG Seven and One driver, claim it's not to be intimidated by and now with this head move all the way up to 10*. Seems like a contradiction... I think 7* is too intimidating so as stew mentioned it may have hurt sales. Left handed version? Sorry nothing about lefty yet.
Mjr. D
How does it compare to the Zero and Egg 7 and Maxima type V?
+TourSpecGolfer
How does it compare to the Zero and Egg 7 and Maxima type V? Bigger face than all 3 of those. Compared to Egg 7 it is similar yet launch is a little higher Compared to Maxima it's trajectory is for sure lower and more penetrating Against Zero I have no idea. I think its very forgiving, straight, lower spin, feel is great, looks a bit larger because it's 460cc, My best guess is PRGR has way more technology + R&D in their drivers than the Zero, Maxima combined. But that said, Maxima 7D combo is getting a lotta rave reviews from clients who have purchased it.

needmoregolf
Chris, will you have a chance to try one with either hot melt or foam? how does it sound stock? wondering if it would benefit in any way with extra weight of if either of those options helps with sound. From what I've read, previous eggs didn't sound great but this may be a completely different beast altogether.

I don't think these need foam, they don't sound or feel bad at all, if you want more weight in the head hot melt should be fine as well. supo
its sqaure.. .... just ahd it checked its just bec im used to looking at 7* heads! you beaut. it plays 45 inch as well 297 grams. this thing is gonna be a weapon! great loking head. just saw the new fariways awoods as well. very good job on these, just a slight evolvement from this year. bit thicker back, cavity not quite as pronounced. face is simialr but for that high elephants head bump which makes it looks like it absolutely wants to clobber the ball! hmmmmm not sure how this is gonna go off the deck, looks like its a small driver. but no idea . the 5 wood looks like a small 3 wood, obv i dont knwo cen ive not hit it yet but it doesnt look like its gonna go high. the 5 looks like it cud play like a 3. Staxxx
Are these PRGR drivers considered long bombers or more on the control side please (although I do understand that it also highly depends on the shaft it is mated with).... I've always wondered how an egg would work for me and although I have all that I need in terms of drivers right now, can't help but wonder about this new one, seems like it might be a great fit. hmmm... supo
D i think the newest might be the best for guys that either get a bit freaked out by the loft of the previosu ones or like a symetrical design. Personally ill hitmwhat ever there is regardless. Ive got 2deg open drivers. And 1deg closed icant tel you which is better. Or worse the design is meant to acomdate what its set up like. The new egg looks normal its a snazzzy looking head But its normal. The old ones are very interesting obv not for the vast majority of. Players but this season ive not had. It oit of the bag for any big match ive played. Il get the new one simply bec prgr is great but i just cant see it being better than the previosu versions If it is il sell everything. The new egg is anegg for the masses the others are not.
