Willytan
Hi, Still very new to club fitting thus like to seek guidance from experts here on how to better my Golf game thru club fitting. What is the optimal weight for the following: 1. Head weight ( I m using a Epon AF-151 - 195g) 2. Overall weight (previously playing to abt 305g) 3. Swing weight ( used to playing btw D0-1 swing weight) Do share with me.
nobmontana
each person differs. If you have never been professionally fit, I suggest you do that first , and if the resulting club performs well for you, stick to those specs. Hard to determine your optimum specs without first knowing what works for you.
Willytan
I hasn't gone for any professional fitting I.e using launch monitor etc, it's more of a static fitting. Current setup Head weight (Epon AF-151) - 195g Shaft (Diamana R50 regular) - 58g + 5g tip weight Grip - 50g Swing weight - D1 Overall weight - ard 310g Played well with it, just that I feel I can play abit more stiffer n slightly heavier shaft ard 60+g to experiment. Hutch
60S with softer tip higher torque..get that SW up also. Grow in to it. Something like a Ali isle 60S would be perfect ;) Or even a Labospec Hashiri 60S around 3.8 Torque Go slightly heavier in the irons and soon the driver will feel like a noodle. Willytan
Thanks, Just fitted a Crazy Boron stiff (69g) onto my Epon AF151 (195g) with a swing weight of C9.5 playing to 45" last night. Will give it a go and see how it works playing with a heavier and stiffer shaft as compared to my previous shaft. Will let u all know how it goes on after I test it on the course on Monday. Hutch
Hope It goes well, that shaft would react exceptionally well with a 200g ish head.
D22marshall
Put a 6 gram too weight in and get the SW to about d2 more mass bigger hit and that will also soften the shaft a bit. But getting a weight that suits your natural tempo is key
Willytan
Had gamed the driver on 2 separate occasion with 2 different feel. Monday (1st game) Spec - as above Feel - I couldn't really feel the head of the driver during my down swing, alway felt that the head is not lagging enough to give me the "whip" when I hit the ball. Due to the feel, I tend to overreact and thus pull hook the tee shots several times but it still gave me a far better distance than the previous combo. Wednesday (2nd game) Spec - as above but added a 5g lead weight below the ferror Feel - I can better feel the shaft flex and head slightly lagging behind during my down swing. It gave me a distance and power I never had. Thanks everyone for the great advice.
