Posted April 20, 20168 yr SEVEN X GOLD's FACTORY- Only a few days ago we showed you one of the SEVEN X GOLD's FACTORY putters now another limited one-off design made in collaboration with the Master himself Masayuki Sasaya. This one is very special it's our very first custom center shaft putter with a black center Teramoto shaft. This putter was originally a heel shafted putter, so the master started by cutting the neck off and filling the hole with metal and hand grinding it flat then he welded the hosel to the proper position and adjusted all specs for optimal performance. The sole was then enhanced with two 20g heavy tungsten weights along with a fatter slit line that doesn't extend through the putter; this slit line design is something new for Gold's Factory, and we found it does a great job at enhancing feel yet not changing it drastically as many other slit lines can. Finished in NiCr Satin with Copper Underlay it's final head weight comes out to 376g!
April 20, 20168 yr Very nice looking, especially with the centre shaft, but would prefer a mallet style.
April 21, 20168 yr Very nice, but to make it perfect I think it needs to be symmetrical. I think it would look better than mallet head. Just my two cents.
April 26, 20168 yr Chris i see this one has copper underlay, is that a new option for GOLDS. I wonder how copper underlay would be on a carbon head or maybe too soft.
April 26, 20168 yr What does this slit line do in terms of feel. I see it doesn't go through the putter line the Beached Scotty camerons. I didnt like the feel of the beached tour scottys, felt kinda clicky and hollow..
April 26, 20168 yr Author In regards to copper each dip and process at the factory is different so sometimes they use copper other times they dont it just depends but when we request it they always do. As for the slit, the scotty you tried was sus303 which is a more clicky feel by nature, SM490A is more dense and less clicky so when you combine that with deep milling its really nice then add the slit that doesnt cut all the way through making it unique and still soft yet not clicky at all.
April 26, 20168 yr Best putter design right here IMO. About 4 yrs ago I started using a Scotty center beach proto which is about a close to this putter as you can get and it hasn't left the bag yet. I actually bought a nip backup in case something happens to my gamer..
