Posted April 20, 200420 yr I am thinking about trying out an Ignite but 2 things are holding me back. The headsizes available conforming and and I on the top. There is one on ebay atm thay does NOT seem to have the I, is it tour?
April 20, 200420 yr so the jap issue do not have the I at address and US will? You are correct sir. The "I" is not as loud as some think. It is a more subdued color. Headsize is the "norm" for today's standard. I would at least hit it before passing judgement. With that being said, the stock shaft may not be suited for you. But then again, how long will a stock shaft last in anyone's driver on this board? 8)
April 20, 200420 yr Even on the retail models the I isnt that noticeable and i dont really think its going to make a different to your drives, you will get used to the I after a while Try the 410 it doesnt actually look that big to be honest alex
April 20, 200420 yr Author yeah i guess i could get use to the I but i dont really want to :-P the headsize thing is definitely a NO-go. my favorite headsize is 312cc (my old J) the E has a really deep face and does not look that much bigger at 350cc. the MARU is so well shaped at 370 it looks good. BUT its too big my a hair already, so 40cc more is just totally not going to happen.
April 20, 200420 yr The 380 sits nice and sets up well very deep face, but as we all know it is Ignite+ non conforming version.
April 20, 200420 yr I compared the 410 to my K and the Nike makes the K look like a FW Wood. It looks MUCH bigger and I think it was nearly impossible to turn over for me. It just felt kind of awkward.
April 21, 200420 yr I hit the 410 with the Ignite Fujikura shaft back to back with a Cleveland NC-X with their Fujikura shaft. Must say that I liked the Cleveland better. More stable at impact and better matched to my swing speed (108 mph). The Ignite sent the ball left on any hit towards the toe. Too much torque for me, I think. Spoke to the distributor about this. He said the 410 and 460 are aimed at the segment of the market they're calling "the magic seekers". The guys that need help getting the ball in the air. This shows in the shaft specs where even the still shafts have more than four degrees of torque. He further related that the Tiger replica will be out late third, early fourth quarter of this year. Oh, well. Guess I'll sit on my hands til then. :?
