Posted June 6, 200420 yr Have any of you noticed on the heads of the Callaway Fusions there are 4 boxes? If the letter is in the first box its rigged for a fade bias, 2nd box Neutral, 3rd semi draw position and 4th box is for full draw position. There are also Trajectory rating determined by the letters: L=Low M=Mid H=High I'm a strong believer that the weight plugs in the R7 are gimmick, Ive owned mine since mid march and for the first month really believed in them, but after a little research it takes at least 50g of weight on one side to even create the slightest change for the average player. that means TM needs to make 25-40g weights instead of 10, 12, & 14gs. If you look at the callaway fusion they are using 22 and 24 gram weights which is more than the R7 but still not enough to make a noticeable difference. If your swing is consistent and your close to scratch then these small differences should be enough for you.
June 7, 200420 yr i just spent a couple of minutes looking at my fusion, no boxes. maybe the boxes were only on early production models?
June 7, 200420 yr Author i just spent a couple of minutes looking at my fusion, no boxes. Â maybe the boxes were only on early production models? Judging by the shape of the face and its deepness it could be Tour Issues only.??? :-D
June 7, 200420 yr The boxes are only on tour issue Callaway fusions. Retail models only have a serial number in that area. BTW, the TM weights are not overrated. If you have a decent swing, changing 2 - 10g of weight can and does change ballflight.
June 7, 200420 yr On TM's behalf I would like to say this club was not desined for the average golfer. I spoke to a TM rep who told me the club was designed for the 5 hndp. or better to whom these changes can make a difference. :-D

The weight plugs only worked for the first month I owned it. even the guys on the JPGA got lead tape on their R7s with the 14g weights. :-D but ya know them Japanese they love lead tape on everything even their headcovers :surprize:
June 10, 200420 yr Actually, that fusion in the pic is weighted low on the toe, you're looking at it upside down

June 18, 200420 yr Author Callaway Japan in Shimbashi Tokyo is offering a limited edition custom Fusion + with only 500 pieces made for the public. The fitting is $210.00 and it must be in person at the Callaway headquarters in Tokyo. The loft options are from 8.5 - 13 with 9 different bias and gravity positions. I just think its something very cool that more brands should be offering. I'm also hearing that in the Tour TP R7's their is a bias per request option for tour players and that many are taking advantage of this. My question is whats the need for an internal weight bias if they have the plugs?
June 18, 200420 yr After what chris just said about the japanese asking for weight bias, r7 this leads me to believe that the weight plugs don't really affect the club's performance. What I would say is that if you have a club which is biased in any way the weight plugs can enhance the bias.

It must work to some extent but cant be all that much, hmmm Internal weight bias + Lead Tape + weight screws and this is on the JPGA not average players. R7 is still longer and better than most clubs despite this. Also TS girls R7 which lives in the trunk of my car has screws rusting after 4 months

June 18, 200420 yr This is similar to a question I asked about my tour BBII. On the bottom of the club in the two "II" there is an "f" in the 1st "I" and a "." in the second "I". Does anyone know what this means?????
