any suggestions? currently playing cg10's.

Thanks

Howsit Jonny. Here are some of my favorite. Zodia, Scratch, FourteeN, also, I haven't tried them, but the Gauge look pretty nice too.

hi jim,

Thanks, those are all very nice, just looking for some suggestions from experiences. What bounce are your Zodias and how do you like it?

Also, where can I try those wedges in the LA area?

thanks,

jon

Zodia US Spec wedges are the best high end raw (gun blue) finish, while the Miura wedges are the best bang for the buck wedges in a satin chrome finish with tour modified Y grooves.

Just my honest opinion from my experience.

Zodia U.S Spec? I have heard some carry the Zodia Line in the U.S for ridiculous prices, I'm talking more than Japan costs. IMHO zodias are great wedges but for a raw finish semi mass produced head, charging 240.00 retail is insane, A zodia wedge for what it is should cost 150 - 175.00. Miura wedges are good though Himeji forged old style designs, I suggest the Miuraism line if anyone wants to go the miura route the designs are slightly more new age yet have the ugliest stampings. There is a ton of dusty U.S miura stock that needs a home from what I hear and prices although low already may be hitting close out soon.

My vote for ultimate wedge would be a Custom Mizuno Mp series w/ NS Pro 850 shaft at D3-D4 w/ Square grooves. 2nd place the Tourstage X-wedge Black or Satin. If you enjoy small heads, The gauge GAS1 SG, and also the Fourteen low bounce works very well.

Paul do you have the URL to the U.S zodia site?

I agree with Chris in that the Zodia's are expensive for what they are.. Unfortunately they work great for me so I'm stuck! LOL Anyway those Mizuno's are great also. Here's the link to the Japan site for Zodia and specs... Run it through Babel Fish if you have a hard time getting the numbers.

I would say it would depend on what you would be using it most for. If mostly for approach (full) shots and chip and runs (like me), I liked my brief experience with a Zodia because the 52 played like a weak pw in design. If it would be mostly for pitches around the green and a little bunker play the Vokey 200s and the RACs in whatever finish are good. Or you can have Ari/Scratch build one to your needs.

Just as a footnote to this thread, I took my 52 out of the bag a few months ago. I just wasn't using it except for 3/4 shots 100-110 out. Now, I knock down my 47* Mizuno pw that distance. Inside that the sand wedge and lob wedge are more than enough options for me. I did have the 56* sand wedge bent to 54* to close the gap.

Would this be the japan produced mizuno mp wedge?

go for the mizuno mp series, I have a 58, looking for a 54 but they're really great looking and soft feel and provide great spin. Haven't tried the black ox yet, but i suppose they feel the same just with more spin

i look at those too, but i'm guessing you're refering to the mizuno usa wedges right?

Personally I don't get Zodia wedges. I mean just because it's expensive doesn't make it better. Yes from what I understand each one is handmade just like Scratch, what I don't get is the ultra aggressive grinding. I mean the wedges don't look finished. You could get Ari to do a wedge just like a Zodia, in fact I'm sure Slater would love to because it would require 1/10 the work. A lot of the grinding done is to take out those rough edges. I just don't get Zodia's they don't even have a finish. :money:

U.S or Japan wont make a difference, they are not made in Japan, the key would to be find a shaft, head weight, grip, and length/Lie that give you the feel you want most. What do you want? a heavy head feel, a counter balance feel? I like heavy head weak shaft feel because it gives me the ability to get more feedback where the head and shaft is during the swing.

NS pro 850s are great in wedges
