Quest for new wedge!! Another wedge help topic
My quest for 2011 bag is almost complete. Still in need of new wedge set and 3wood possibly down the road. I would love to jump right into Yamaha wedges but the prices are kinda keeping me off at this point. I am looking to try other alternates and possibly Yonex Ezone wedges are best candidate. They look sharp and shape, griding and specs call out versatility which is what I want and need for new set of wedges. Anybody have input on these wedges and what is the main benefit or difference between onset and offset? Of course, I know what they mean by definition but would appreciate if someone could chime in real world definition. Thanks!

Are 08' or '09 Yamaha irons conforming?
Hi, I wasn't sure if this was discussed before. I have '09 Yamaha XV tour irons and was wondering if they are conforming to USGA groove rule. Not that it means much but curious to know if they are conforming. Also, same question for Tourstage 901 wedges. I would appreciate if someone could tell me where to find such information. Thank you

2009 Yamaha Inpres X V Forged Limited Tour
I would like to give my input on Yamaha V-forged irons briefly. I am gaming 2008 tour model now. I NEVER EVER felt that an equipment could drastically change one's game despite hoing for number of years on different drivers, irons, etc. Ever since using these irons, I have been dead on accuracy and distance. I don't think my swing has changed much but results tell otherwise. I think one thing sticks out most than others is the distance control. I always seem to hit the right number. I am using the stock shaft which is S200 and standard spec comes 1/2 inch shorter than US standard. My initial concern was possible lack of distance but no worries now. They go as far if not further. I think it's due to higher chance of hitting the sweet spot with shorter length. They are as forgiving as any other cavity backs and feel is solid. I would highly recommend to anyone who haven't tried Yamaha V-forged irons. You will love them and never go back to any other. Now, I just need matching wedges.

Japan Model Taylormade R9 Driver
Is R9 Japan (not the Max) available for an oder from TSG? I know R9 Max release date has been delayed to end of April and I am interested in R9 if same shaft upgrade is available. Per Taylormade Japan website, R9 has same shaft options as R9 Max. If so, what would be price? Thanks!

opinions needed(JDM woods and shaft)
Duffer, Thanks for your input. Based on your comments, I think Kai'li maybe a really good fit for me. I was looking for characteristics of White board(spin wise) but better feel. I think Kai'li should work just fine for me. I can't wait to try them on new head. I have Fubuki on FTiqs and yes I have heard great things about Legacy drivers but they are not readily available in US. So my alternative route was to go with high JDM shaft on a relatively cheap head..haha I will have to see how it goes. My father in law is in mid 60s and he is high 80 to mid 90 player. I don't think he has access nor interested in custom fitting so I would need to recommend some brands that offer distance and forgivness. Are there any other brands besides Beres and PRGR offer good equipments for senior profile? Thanks again!

opinions needed(JDM woods and shaft)
Hi, I have two questions for you guys and appreciate your help in advance. 1. Anyone have experience with Diamana Kai'li shafts? I am using Fubuki shafts and I like them very much so far. Not as boardy as white boards and better profile for my swing overall. Only downside is I have them with Callawy driver which I am not 100% on the feel side. Forgiveness and distance is top notch. Anyhow, I went to a club fitter yesterday for possible Fubuki installation on another driver and he had highly recommended Diamana Kai'li over Fubuki. They seem to have lower torque(70 Stiff) than Fubuki's which may keep the spin rate down little more for my swing. Any experience with this shaft would really be appreciated before I pull the trigger on this bad boy. 2. I am looking for JDM driver and woods with MAXIMUM DISTANCE AND FORGIVNESS. I am looking for set of woods for my father in law and he has been struggling with distance loss and about to give up golf from frustration. He is a senior golfer so I would assume Honma would be on top of the list but I wanted to know what other brands would do just as well as Honmas. Once again, primary concern is DISTANCE first and forgiveness. Any input is appreciated. Thanks!

changing loft of AF-901
I think I will check the lie angle first and maybe try 1 degree strong. I was looking to have 901 to be 200+ distance club and I feel that it isn't quite 200 distance club yet. By the way, I originally had 901 with original graphite shaft and didn't work out. Then, I have tried NSPRO 850, 950 and finally found my gamer with 1150. I think 901 is more of an iron type than hybrid and I think heavier shaft works better for my swing. I will be ordering a 901 19' with KB tour 5.5 for a friend of mine and can't wait to try them out. Great info. Thanks guys.

changing loft of AF-901
Hi, I am thinking about getting my AF-901 from 22 to 20, play more like 3 iron substitute for my current 4-PW set up. I think my 4 iron is around 23 loft. What other changes may I expect other than the loft? bounce maybe? Would it do any harm to the club? Any input is appreciated. Thanks!

Brother Drivers Launch Monitor Test
FT-iq tour is supposed to be .05 open face angle. It is definitely easy to set up but if you are tranditionalist, you may not like it since it may look little closed due to the square design visually. It looks square or hair open to me so I have no problem with address. I think forgiveness is big factor on this new driver. Based on my experience, little off center hits towards toe or hill didn't show much distance loss and this thing wants to go straight and straight. I have hit 13~14 times on the course and few push right's and baby fades and baby draws but no hooks at all. With fades, I usually loose little distance tendancy to hit little towards the hill but I didn't feel any distance loss on FT-iq. I know it's merely start of honeymoon period but it has shown me nothing but positive results. Beside the odd shape, I really like everything about the driver and I really like the new shaft, too. I think FORGIVING is best word to describe this driver.

Brother Drivers Launch Monitor Test
Very interesting article and I am really excited to see the numbers for FT-iQ. I just got myself a FT-iQ tour hoping it would give me less spin and more run. I had a chance to use them for one round and it does exactly what it says. For me, lower launch with less pin and more run. I have always had problem with high launch and no run but this driver has definitely fixed that for me. I have tried every Diamana shaft out there and I am glad to find my perfect mate, Fubuki! Thanks for sharing the info. T!

Has anyone tried EPON AF-301 & project x combination?
Wow, very informative and a lot of new information for me. Come to think of it, I think my initial KB tour experience was from poor installation of the shafts. I don't have any reliable club fitter in my area (northern New Jersey) so I had it done at local proshop which isn't really bad but none of technical stuff Goosie has mentioned. Maybe I should try KB tour shafts again with proper installation and see how it works out. Knowning KB tour is #1 accuracy makes me want to try them again. I really never thought proper installation could make that much of difference in feel and accuracy. Thanks for the information! By the way, does anyone know any good club fitter around northern New Jersey?

Has anyone tried EPON AF-301 & project x combination?
Guys, thanks for extensive input! I know for a fact that project x gives little dull feeling but somehow gave me better distance control and tighter dispersion. I guess the concensus is ns pro is better match for Epons as far as feeling is concerned. I have tried KB Tours myself too on PRGR 900MDs and felt great. However, it felt like I have lost little distance. Maybe I should try softer flex on KB Tour and see how that goes. Thanks again guys!

Has anyone tried EPON AF-301 & project x combination?
Hi, Has anyone have tried AF-301 and project x combination? Mine is currently shafted with NS PRO 1150s and they are great combo. But I would like to give a little change and I have had great sucess with project x shafts before. I would like to hear from anyone who have tried project xs on their Epon irons and how they would feel different compare to other shafts. Any input is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Reshafting Daiwa OnOFF driver
Does it require special technique to reshaft Daiwa drivers? I am thinking about reshafting one but their ferrule system is unique for sure. I wasn't sure if my local fitter could do the job even with the necessary parts for assembly. Is there any intruction on how to install or is it better to send it off to certified Daiwa agent? Perhaps, TSG can do the job as well? Thanks!

question on adding weight plugs
From my understanding, general rule is every 2 grams added to head weight increases swing weight by 1 point. Is it same for adding weight plugs in the hosel? I am working on an iron set and turns out swing weight is around only C6~C7 so I am going to have to insert weight plugs to get to D1-D2s but don't exactly know how much weight to put in. Any input is appreciated. Thanks!

Anybody heard about Hybrex Helix shaft?
I saw an offer on Ebay for Yururi KMP-0106 putter with Hybrex Helix shaft. Anyone heard of the shaft and anybody experience with the putter? I am interested in how the putter compares to Gfield Premium Zone in terms of balance and feel of weight throughout the swing. Putter looks very cool to my eye and it sure is one of kind. Any input in appreciated! Thanks!
