$1000 premium shafts vs the crazy and quadras?
i guess your right, what i meant to say is that i generally use 75s but went down to a 65s. for the crazy i tried the 65xs and they just did not feel right. i guess they played too stiff for me. i heard crazy plays stiffer to flex compared to other makes. will defintely give crazy another chance. well its either that or the new proto fex for the new driver on april

$1000 premium shafts vs the crazy and quadras?
all of you have answered my questions! @idrive you are right with the middleman thing. just wondering if crazy manufactures their own or if they source it from somewhere else? if they dont make their own then that makes sense. duffer, i totally agree with you, none of the roddios and high end shafts worked for me i had some success with the tour ad line but i had the best success with an american speced oban devotion shaft which retails for $100+ dollars, that was my go to shaft for years before getting the quadra shaft which in my opinion has everything i am looking for in a shaft. as for the machline, to be honest that was the only shaft the fw75s was the only shaft that worked for my epon 202ht, tried oban revenge, devotion, GD matrix nada none worked. my dad commented that hes spent over 1k on shafts and in the end is perfectly happy with a $40 paragon stock shaft for his KZG q wood. Gocchin, i have never spent that much money on a shaft like i did with the quadra took at least 3 rounds to get perfectly acquainted but i love it. i have tried the crazy longest yard and the crazy black 80 and they felt awful to me. played them to my specs and they were stiff, too low launch and just did not work. but to others they are crown jewels. i guess i took a chance with the quadras and they paid off. thanks!

$1000 premium shafts vs the crazy and quadras?
guys ive noticed more of the $1000 retail shafts coming up, brands like the ozik tp7hd and fuji bangvoo come to mind, even diamana stinger protos although nowhere near 1k are still in the $750 region. now the crazy shafts have some in the 4,5,6 all the way up the 800$ region just wondering how these would stack against the ozik and fuji shafts i mentioned? and now theres the quadra with there most expensive offering a mere bargain at $400+. had many sleepless nights as i have never paid more than 3 bills for a shaft but bit the bullet and have never regretted it. you only flinch once. as i was surfing the net, i never realized that the crazys are much much more expensive than the quads. was shocked to see that they were nearing the ridiculous prices of the tp7hd and bangvoo. ive heard the merits of the 80 and 90t thing and am very much enjoying my 80t fire express but cannot imagine them being half the price of another 80t crazy shaft. nor can i imagine the tp7hd being almost more than double than the Fire express 80t shaft.

WTB: ONOFF labospec driving iron or hybrid
if you guys have these sitting around, pass em on to me. thanks
-
roddio......,
well they are daiwa seiko premium stuff. thats why you see em mostly in the onoff gear. rare youl see em in a shop window unless the guy has connects or is a certified onoff/roddio dealer. now pulls are another story and i believe you have heaps of em

New Miura Hybrid
saw the review, i was just looking for a hybrid to replace my adams super black hybrid 19*. this could be the ticket! i havent seen a jdm hybrid in a very long time that i liked. this could just be it. what shafts would you recommend for this guys?

roddio......,
the roddios were pretty hot back in 06 and 07 , i actually gamed the wb6a or was that the wa6a? i actually forgot already what model it was. it was ok, kinda pricey for their day but i have moved to other things such as axiv, gd and now quadra. pre quadra the roddios felt damn good but did not like performance so much. quadra is superior in every aspect. as for marketing i remember chris saying that they do not sell shafts alone and they would have to be assembled by roddio specified installers. that could be the reason why they never got as popular as they could have been.

2 & 4 Wood Suggestions
depending on my mood this and golf equipment are my favorite topics. thats the glenvilet 21 i had two days ago! man we dont get any yamazakis in my neck of the woods, never tried one of those. sorry for the offtopic but do they taste exactly like scotch whisky?

golds factory
well it all depends on what your willing to pay for. if you arent prepared to pay for the Gold's then get something else. there are many good japanese brands out there. I am impressed with sasaya san's level of craftsmanship and entire process in general, id drop serious dough on one of his putters but for irons i am not so particular,, that and the fact that i change irons often makes it a no go in my book. if i was the type to use a single brand of irons til they are beat up then the golds would be a no brainer

Spoon's W-i-t-b for 2012 updated last page
well soon to change are my irons 3-pw are the onoff cb247s. finally i found another set. i briefly had a set of used heads back when i was injured that i had to sell , friend of mine bought it from me, big mistake! he would not sell it back and i dont blame him for it. bribed him with new set of my epon irons but he would not budge. i honestly dont know why these are so reveried, all i know is that i have been wanting to game them since 07 and know that i have a chance will stick em in to some s300s 3-9 and PW is an afrour bent to 47*. still debating if i will follow the lofts of the 202s, epon 302s or as is.

never owned anything kyoei. maybe kyoei forged just maybe. when i can drop my cap to somewhere in the low singles i will definetely get a set of kyoei blades only becuase you so highly praise them and i can see why. do they make any smallish profile driving irons? if they do would like to get one

Newcomer in the forged world
C, since we are discussing miura I know you have discussed this before but can no longer find the thread, what can you tell me about the nike split protos and the onoff cb247s? i finally found a set of onoffs and from what i know they are forged in miura same as the nike splits. i know for everything else in the onoff line they are forged in Nelson china. i am wondering though since the other offerings of Onoff forged irons are darn good, why they would choose miura to do their onoff CB247 line? Am i missing something here? also cannot distinguish any major difference between the nike splits, 247s and miura 202 aside from subtle grind differences but they all look to be from the same mold

2 & 4 Wood Suggestions
actually no:) i am currently having the best success with the s300. i have tried all the japanese and american shaft offerings, name it ive tried it and never would have realized that i would settle with the dgs300s. i love it so much im putting the tour issue s300s in my epon 502/302 combo set. graphite will have to wait.

interesting observations. i have never had the priviledge of owning ang kyoeis or miuras but have a set of miura forged onoff that i will be gaming soon as well as a kyoei forged sandwedge?? anyway i may have had some kyoei forged wedges before. Chris can you confirm if the shinagawa wedges were forged in kyoei? those were the best wedges i have ever had of all time. i regret selling my brand new pair of 51.57 to a local! it even was stamped 'spoon' those were indeed PNS. may not have been the softest but certainly performed as stated. and man would they shred balls! i just got an idea, will try to buy em back hehe

Newcomer in the forged world
that is really funny! btw i notice you love kzg! i used to game the #4 q fairway wood for years. nothing could kick it out of the bag very easy to hit but i changed the stock paragon shaft as i was getting too much spin for my liking, stayed loyal to me til i discovered the 17egg. kzg has some good offerings, and value for your money as well.

Japan Golf Show Time is Near!
although it makes sense as Oem producer it doesnt make sense on a marketing standpoint for Epon as a premier JDM brand

2 & 4 Wood Suggestions
well after 6 months of therapy i got the go ahead signal to slowly start playing and strengthening my muscles 3rd week of january started with range work, then 2 9 hole rounds then full 18s. its been like crazy, i think i overdid it and pulled a muscle in my back, nothing spinal i think i just need rest. not as flexible as i used to be was so excited to play the quadras so i could not resist playing 2 back to back rounds in a mountain course. i have therapy and pt today and will find out. in the meantime i found my grail irons and will have them installed tom, also have a new wedge coming from senor ho numero uno in japan! updates to follow soon.

Two thumbs up!!
gary is indeed a cool guy! let us see pics of your iron shafts! those matrix shafts are sick! the lightest i have gamed was the tour ad 95 shafts they worked for me but found am very light. im curious about the heavier weighted graphite shafts! Chris how do the matrix compare to the quadra proto iron shafts?
