  1. amen to that! thats one department i absolutely have to work on. btw i have a ut-85s coming would it better serve a 18 or 20 hybrid? just wondering what your thoughts are
  2. kawiks i am still weathering the storm. its a see/saw battle for me. i havent given up though as the driver is still in my sig.
  3. im keeping an eye on that gauge design by carl:)
  4. whats weird is i can hit my fairway woods and hybrids better than say my 5,6 irons. with the fairway woods and hybrids i can control my shots with my longer irons i usually slice. so for now it will benefit me leaving it out of the bag thats also something to consider, playing conditions of the rough. i usually dont plan ahead for times like these. i usually decide when im deep in it and usually the appropriate club was left behind at home
  5. with your setup, you seem to understand what works best for you. my setup for the last week has remained the same except i removed the driver since im not hitting it so well. 1. epon 15* off the tee 2. gfield 4w 3. 18 gfield hybrid 4 20* gfield hybrid 5. 22 or 24 gfield hybrid depending on course 6. 6-pw epon type x 7,. chikara proto 52/57 8. gauge design eldik
  6. mojoman i agree 100%. i find that hybrids are so much more consistent than my FWs. i lose about 10-20 yards but much much more forgiving. until the time i can consistently hit my fws the hybrids will stay. they give me the most confidence. i also firmly beleive that we dont always have to stick to club sets. pieces here and there, mix and match to better suit our game. i will not get an extra club just to fill 14 clubs. i dont even carry a driver when its not suiting me.
  7. i would have to agree with jack on this one!
  8. got to test the af 301, 501 and 701. the 301 is so darn beautiful. simply lovely. the 701 looks totally different it is bigger and has a more clicky feel. i can see the 701s being the perfect game improvement club. epon designed this well indeed cant wait to try the new drivers
  9. funny you ask i have the 18, 20, 22, 24 deg gfield hybrids. i will take 3 at most depending on the course. my favorites are the 18 and 22 for versatility. on tight courses il whip out my 24. hybrids are my strongest clubs so i dont see why i should limit myself. i dont carry a 4,5 iron nor do i inted to in the near future.
  10. t, i change clubs periodically, more so now that tsg is around. and nothing really stays in my bag that long. only constant in my bag are the gfield hybrids.not only do they perform stellarly but they damn look great too! ive tried all sorts of hybrids and nothing comes quite close. so im really really curious on these new 247s, once you have them could you possibly have side by side pics at addy? thanks
  11. i just looked in the proshop couple of days ago wasnt there. this should be interesting. it would have to be very very good to knowck out the gfields from my bag
  12. congrats guys! put the new sticks to good use.
  13. yes the service is indeed impeccable. cant get any more personalized as this. remember your crackhead post from last week. voila you have a new head. do share us your pics and initial comments once youve had a chance to test it.
  14. found the shafts and more thanks guys.
  15. those iomic waterproof grips do look mighty tempting in conditions like these
  16. B, i actually resolved my problem today and got both. its easier that way but not necessarily the most economical route. the epon will be mated with an axiv 8076 while the gfield 4 wood will hopefully be mated with the pt-8. i say hopefully becasue im waiting for another member to confirm if its still doable. if that doesnt fall through then i have the qt or fm72 proto ozik as backup.
  17. have decided to get the ut-85 s over the ozik altus hb. lets see how this goes. will have updates soon
  18. i know the feeling, been rained out several times on equipment esting days. so close yet so far away.
  19. also experimenting with my woods. thinking of pulling out the stock fw65s shafts from the epon and trying some axivs. 8076s to be exact. thinking this would benefit me on agressive of the tee shots when the driver is not working. also thinking re shafting my gfield 4 wood with either a gd quattro or maybe even an ozik fm72. some help would be appreciated.
  20. this is a very very helpful post as i have been experimenting with all sorts of hybrid shafts as of late. i too am debating weither to get the Ozik altus or the UT-85. i have 4 hybrids on the block now all gfield 18/20/22/24. i will take 2 at most at any one time maybe even 3 depending on what course i am playing but my money clubs are the 20 and 22. the 18 and 20 are shafted with the YS SERIES hybrid shafts 85g. they have a nice buttery soft feel to them, it is mid launch and has a distinct feel at impact. on my 22 is a cut fw speeder 759 that has been tip trimmed 1/4" to bump up the cpm to 270. this by far is my favorite hybrid shaft. nice kick to it and best feeling overall. id like these on all my hybrids if i had the chance. on the 24 is a mizuno exar tourspec shaft that is extremely harsh yet one of the straightest and most consistent shafts i have hit. looking at the ozik altus or/and UT-85 to play around with.
  21. R, im actually pretty set on the wa or any similarly styled shaft from other makes. i think my problem is not with the flex but the actual model. i think i may get better results with the wa model. maybe a heavier shaft as well. im all over the place with the 6ba. my swing is by far the opposite of a smooth controlled swing which is what the ba is for. thanks
  22. R, i would rather trade it for the same brand but different model. maybe even an axiv v. if your friend wants it maybe he can get the epon 460 10.5 with the roddio? that way i can buy another driver with the shaft i want.
  23. it would never hurt jack to try and experiment results may surprise him. he can try the GD-ut95 Exsar IS2 Tour Spec Flex Weight Grams Torque Ball Flight Tip Butt Stiff 103 2.5 Mid .355 .610
  24. i must say the shaft/head combo was quite a revelation. shaft is very very stable and feels like a very stiff iron shaft. for a minute i felt like i was hitting an iron. there is that distinct feeling at impact. most of my shots were very accurate and mis**ts from this combo were generally in the same direction but with a loss of 15 yards max. it takes some getting used to though a lot more effort to swing compared to the GD/speeder shafts. i will certainly give this more time, so far i like it. overall weight is another problem feels significantly heavier, id say the heaviest club in my bag. also concerned the sw @ d4. as all my other sticks are d2
