My Experience with Shaft Flex
Yes, many manufacturers do. Tour AD DI has a SR flex, as do most Japanese shafts like crazy...

My Experience with Shaft Flex
I tend to look at the top end of the shaft rating along with the tip and bend profiles to choose shafts and it has been good to me so far. I am a smooth transition swinger rather than hitter 95-100 MPH driver. My recent shafts are Stiff Regular flex. Good from 85-100MPH. Less effort and better results. Plan to do the same with my irons and have Aerotech regulars coming in..

2012 is here and the Ryoma fairway maybe calling me.....reviews?
Ok, I have successfully reduced my inner club ho in 2011. I bought the Titleist VG3's late in 2010 and they are my sole set of irons even today--big change from the 3-4 sets in days of old. I finished out my bag in the summer with a Ryoma Driver (now with a royal deco working well!), a 17* egg spoon and 19* Egg Ute. Down to only two gamer putters and two rackers (a TP Mills handmade that I had done in 2004 with the birth of my daughter, and a 1996 Newport2 1/500 Cameron--back when bettinardi did the heads). The only other clubs, are a few random wedges. Pretty good for a guy that used to have 2 back up sets, two callaway club racks and two tour bags (Masters and Euro Ryder Cup) full. Now the racks and bags are empty taking up valuable storage space! But, I digress....for 2012, I also am planning to go with a 1 sand wedge set up which is a reversion back to days of old with my old trusty cleveland 485 56* wedge. The cleveland is gone, worn out, but the one sand wedge is back. It seems to make decisions easy to have the one sand wedge around the green, I can lob it, drive it in low with spin, float it all with the same wedge. So, this means I have a space in my bag and I am contemplating adding a 13* Ryoma. I love the Egg Spoon, but they don't offer a 13* in the new model. The old model is dreadfully loud. So, those of you that have the Ryoma fairways for a while now or have experience with both, what do you think of the Ryoma/Egg comparison on performance---forgiveness and distance? Is it too soon for a Ryoma fairway review? Still honeymooning?

Crazy Royal Decoration + Ryoma
I am getting about 10 yds better with this combo. For me the real strength of the Ryoma is the forgiveness. Just wants to go straight.

Anyone know the tip size of PRGR EGG I+ HYBRID? 0.35 or 0.37
.335 I believe

Replacing my 3i with a UTE?
In the deep stuff it is pretty good. I would rate the TRC better out of the deep stuff (a little heavier and different sole) but the Egg Ute is better overall all-around performer.

Replacing my 3i with a UTE?
Having tried about every Ute, including the TRC, I found that the Egg Spoon Ute is the most point and shoot UTE I have found. The stock shaft is good as well. It also is anti left which I found most Utes were not. Just wants to go straight. I can hit it high or medium depending on whether I hit down or sweep it like a fairway wood. Good off the tee as well... The TRC is good but not as easy to hit. My index is 8.7 so a 10hcp pretty close to yours.

WTS/WTT WinWin Red Dragon Staff/Stand Bag
Rich has the game, he is giving me 3 a side these days.... Unless I am being paid to do so, I am not lugging no 8 lb Rodney Dangerfield Bag! I hear you on the fancy club storage. I have effectively rid myself of back ups (hard to believe I know), so now I have two callaway club racks empty, plus a European Ryder Cup staff bag and a Limited Edition Masters Staff bag to boot It is a fancy bag Duke! You still have my old Egg Spoon Driver?

Crazy RoyDeco vs Tour AD DI (UPDATED RESULTS Plus Super Newing added)
No control issues whatsoever. In fact I almost wish I went 47 inches long! Ball flight was excellent. I could hit it high, or medium no issues at all.

Crazy RoyDeco vs Tour AD DI (UPDATED RESULTS Plus Super Newing added)
Length if for balance for sure. It is very light at 48 G. I think they actually recommend the RD to be played long. I did use the same ball on several holes (TM LDP Red) I did hit the RD longer than the Tour DI-6. I really did like the Super Newing ball..

Crazy RoyDeco vs Tour AD DI (UPDATED RESULTS Plus Super Newing added)
The Newing ball was new. I did hit a TM Red LDP on a few holes which was the ball I used last week. I think the SW is D3-4. I would go 46 at least with the Royal Deco.

Crazy RoyDeco vs Tour AD DI (UPDATED RESULTS Plus Super Newing added)
UPDATED---- (first post updated too) OK, the shaft came in--in the usual ROCKET FAST timing I have come to know and love at TSG! How is it I can get stuff from Japan faster than I can from stuff I buy in the US....but I digress. I was very skeptical (I always am not just on golf stuff) that this new combo of Ryoma and Crazy Royal Decoration was going to due much vs the Tour AD DI-6. 1st time out here are my observations: Some testing information: I will be 45 in a little bit. My SS on trackman is 92-100 lets call it 95. Swinger, not hitter. More Ernie Els than Tiger Woods. Played same tees, same 9 holes. 37 degrees with the new combo. 55 degrees with the Tour AD DI-6 last outing For me it seems that the Ryoma Head (199G) likes a longer lighter shaft. Played the RD at 46.25, Tour AD at 45.75. RD is 48g vs 65ish in the DI-6. Both SR flex RD was easier to load. Both are very smooth shafts. RD for me felt better and needed less effort which is important especially in the cold. Hit the RD farther. I actually drew a couple drives which is hard as the RYOMA wants to go dead straight. Hit 2 bombs in the cold. One uphill 240 yards over the bunker (the DI-6 left me in the bunker thought I nutted it!) 280 yard par 4, 240-245 carry to get to a hill....was 5 yards short of the green. Was shocked to see my ball there. Prior week I was 30 yards out. Was very surprised in the cold how well it went. Bottom line, I was very surprised I felt a difference between shafts and surprised I got better more distance. I was not a believer that a shaft could make that much difference. I am guessing 8-10 yards which is a lot. HAVE TO AGREE on the Newing ball. Feels great on all clubs and soft to putt! Looks brand new after 9 holes in the cold...I was very surprised.

Head weight was 199. Playing it at 46 inches. Picked it up today. Looks great. Will try tomorrow in 45 degree weather....

Crazy RoyDeco vs Tour AD DI (UPDATED RESULTS Plus Super Newing added)
Going to have the head weight measured when the shaft that is in it is removed. I am going to play it at 46 inches. No idea what it will CPM at when it is done.

Crazy RoyDeco vs Tour AD DI (UPDATED RESULTS Plus Super Newing added)
I went with Stiff Regular in both. Royal Deco being shafted today. Man do the walls of that shaft look thin! Has to be the high carbon count. I am a 96-100 MPH SS. Low end of stiff. I find that if I get something too stiff it goes right. The Ryoma is so anti left that if the Royal Decoration is a little soft maybe I get a soft draw. The Ryoma just wants to fly straight...

Spoon's family bags: say cheese
What club in Jersey? I remember playing Pebble and they basically swap your bag for an ultra light carry bag there....so I hear you..

Got to hit my new Ryoma/Crazy
8-10 yards is very good for first time. I am not sure I am that good yet with my combo. Going to guess just as long but I am in the fairway much more. I don't think I have found the right shaft yet.

Crazy RoyDeco vs Tour AD DI (UPDATED RESULTS Plus Super Newing added)
Royal Decoration was what was the basis or thought behind my question. But $500 upgrade (assuming I could sell the DI) is a lot of "faith" in the RD without me having a clue if it would outperform the current set up...

Crazy RoyDeco vs Tour AD DI (UPDATED RESULTS Plus Super Newing added)
The quest for distance and ease of use comes at a price. Is an 8 hcp going to notice significant improvements in distance/ease of use etc. moving from a Tour AD DI-6 to a Crazy shaft in a Ryoma head? I have my doubts. I love the Ryoma, most consistent and forgiving driver I have hit...longest?--not sure too many drivers and too many factors to accurately compare. So the shaft question pops up in my head... Opinions and experiences welcomed! UPDATED---- OK, the shaft came in--in the usual ROCKET FAST timing I have come to know and love at TSG! SOLD
If you buy them head only they range from 188 to 200g heads. If you buy complete club stiff shaft is 287G with D2 swing weight...which I think is what Rich is trying to figure out as the regular shaft is probably not what he would use...

Miura & Miuraism iron head size
I was wondering why a 25 hcp would torture themselves with all those blades! Nice work!
