  1. Hey, Well, with 66 mph swing speed in a 4-iron, I can totally see the benefit of a lighter weight shaft for you. Even if the launch monitor you are using is off by 10 mph, that would likely be the case. And as Dean mentioned above, the nine is smooth AND stable. And the stable part seems to be something you need. So, worth a shot I'd say. I'm going down in weight too, to get somewhere close to where I once was. Still think that I hit my 7-iron 175 yds but I tend to come up short very often.. It is tricky to get the brain to understand that the speed is not there anymore. In the past, all I've looked for is consistency and I have relied on good ball-striking with heavier steel shafts. 130g range. But now I just bought a set of Oban CT-115, in X, that will go into my one set. And Modus 105 in S into another. I have Modus 120 S in one set already and a set of Modus 120 X too. But I'm quite convinced that a stable, lighter weight shaft, will help me with my iron play this season. Last year I played a Crazy Target Tour in S. It was way too whippy (not at all stable) and I could not control the draw and could certainly not hit a low cut shot at all. Thus, the Modus 105 S may not be for me, whereas the CT-115 in X could be spot on. But again, the launch monitor, when set up correctly, seldom lies. So I guess I'll find out.

Love these! Had the 5 with a Diamana Thump. Super feel and easy to launch. GLWS

Thanks mate, I love the SP 301 but now looking for hybrids. Yours were probably spot on for me but economics not working in my favor just now.

They do Hutch. Thinking about them.
  5. Hi, Don’t really have a lot of knowledge of USDM drivers so can’t comment on the ones you mention but can try to give an advice on JDM drivers. What are you looking for in a driver except for distance and forgivenes (looks, feel, launch etc? What’s your skill level, swing speed, trajectory and typical miss?

Ok. I’m thinking meatier could be good. I still love long irons but looking for a 20-21 to replace a 2-iron really.

Thanks Nobs, I will try to demo a few as the snow is slowly letting go of us here. The Cobra King Tec will surely be on the list. Mavrik Pro too.

Thanks d**ky, The two different versions that I find in the shop are not really my cup of tea. I'm sure these can be really good if you struggle to elevate the ball. I'm looking more for a replacement of a driving iron, 2-iron for a bit of ease. The crowns are quite busy, rather shallow faces and very light weight. I tend to like heavier shafts/overall weight, deeper faces and very clean crowns.

Thanks Ian! They do look good. Ideally JDM but open to others. Most non-JDM have graphics of some sort. I do like the new Cobra one though.

That looks pretty good. Prefer a smooth crown though, but this is much better that ugly graphics. The di I use these days is a Fourteen Type 7. Really good when I feel strong.

I have played a couple of hybrids. Have a Royal Collection 505v with a Kyoshi Purple 100 in it. I’m struggling with it and often play a driving iron or a 2 iron instead. Now, with lack of speed I’m thinking that I should go back to hybrids. I tend to still like deeper faces and heavier shafts. Can’t stand to look down on heads with graphics on the crown and really don’t like adjustable hosels. Also prefer open faces. What should I be looking at?
  13. Hey folks. I've always loved the sharp iron designs from Zodia. Some reviews say that the CM2 and CM2+ were a bit too firm. Their woods feel and look great though. Same thing goes for the Yamaha ezone MB designed by Chiba. Fantastic feel. Now, has anyone hit the SV-C101? They look amazing.

I had the Kamui back in the day. Liked the look from address, loved the deep face. Never could get it to fly though. Don't get it. Have you tried the Epon 460ZR (with red on bottom)? Had it with a Matrix F7M2 LTD for years. That is the best feeling driver I've ever played, along with the Yamaha 201V Tourmodel with a purple Kiyoshi. Funny - Epon and Yamaha up there for me too.
  16. Looks awesome!
  17. Beautiful. Would look good with my P3’s next to it. What’s the loft?

Nothing wrong with that price for sure.
  20. That’s the way to do it! Otherwise it is difficult to find new and exciting things.
  21. 😊 I’ve had a few in the past. Drivers, 3-woods and wedges (6150). Feel and looks wise - up there with the best. These ones do not have the looks, that’s for sure…
