As they say, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Whilst, on my daily scan of ebay, I came across these; http://www.ebay.co.u...=item4cf02ca5a2

The design looks very similar to the old Callaway X-18 irons
  3. I have no idea why this design will work, I understand the concept of their K grind which is similar with the addition of two further cut outs but I cannot see any benefit with only one.
  4. I have the Prototype V2 wedges, not the current range, they are excellent as good if not better than any.
  5. Although not JDM, I have just taken delivery (yesterday) of a set of Miura 1957 small blades with TT Monaco shafts. Ridiculously small but frames the ball perfectly and a lot easier to play with than expected. Ball flight perfect with a slightly harder feel than the Epon's but in my opinion more satisfying. No distance loss from my Yuyuri's with crazy shafts in fact a distance gain. Definitely my gamers for now. My previous Miura MB500's had the same feel which I think is common with all Miura clubs, I think the 1957's are slightly better, the head is slightly denser and when hit of the sweet spot, wow. Wish I could try the Miuraism range but little chance in the UK. I remember my instructor looking at the Miura MB5003's with disgust and saying only only low single digit handicappers should be playing blades, I sold them a few weeks later and have regretted ever since, handicap went up and up. He is no longer my instructor and the new blades have arrived. p.s. The TT Monaco are the best metal shafts, I have played, playing the KBS wedge shaft in my Chikara's, which feel like nothing after the Monaco's. Any thoughts on a new wedge iron shaft?
  6. Delivered a couple of weeks ago, so far so good, looks a lot better than the photo.
  7. You need to go to the Fourteen Japan Web site not the USA one, it has all the specs of the past models, here is a link; http://www.fourteen....tyle/hist.shtml, unfortunately you may need to translate.
  8. Nowon No1 grips for me, although they do wear quicker than most. I now use an air compressor to change my grips which has revolutionised this task. Fit39 gloves are great but if you are are looking for an all leather glove the Footjoy Pure Touch is as good as you can get.
  9. How much?
  10. Sold mine early this year, really soft feel and quite forgiving, I am sure your brother will be very happy.
  11. Having a 28g model, custom made in Coldur A, should be ready next week, will post pictures.
  12. You can always tee your ball up like Laura Davis, just make sure there are no green keepers around at the same time. http://youtu.be/KwiVaPmIAPo
  13. Seen a few on ebay this year attached to nondescript heads (all sold now). Never really looked at this shaft but.................

The 390g headweight is a lot heavier than usual, have you noticed any distance change in your putting when using it against lighter weighted putters? I was thinking about buying heavier weights for my Scotty but the price for the 25g plus weights is almost as much as a standard putter as they only come in circle T.
  16. Thats a coincidence, Just picked up these beauties from Parcelforce this morning. Yuyuri KM- 0107, Crazy CB1-02 Evolution (S) with Now On No1 grips. Tried chipping with the PW in the office, just flew of the face, will not be doing that again. Unfortunately, no pictures as I cannot upload for some reason.

Was at the driving range today and noticed the complete range of Yonex Ezone Clubs, tried a few, here are my thoughts:- Forged PB 6 iron with Nippon NS Pro Shaft GH Shaft; All I can say is if I was looking for a new set of irons these would be the ones. Great feel, excellent length, very forgiving and really nice to look at. On par with my VG3's but feel better, wow. Composite 6 iron with Nano (something) shaft; Ok but nothing special, no forged feel here, shaft was a let down, distance ok, to be honest, I would forget this one and buy the Forged PB. Driver 420, 9.5 with Nano (something red and something blue) shaft; Nice solid feel but it does lack the explosion of the face, length very good but ball flight really high and I mean really high, tried both shafts and not much difference, love to try it with a Crazy. If I was looking for a new set of clubs, I could do a lot worse than the complete Yonex range, which would keep my pockets a lot heavier than usual and my credit card bill very light. The only clubs not coming to the UK, is the 380 driver.
  19. My golf Pro always said you can hit the ball better in bare feet, I never believed him untill now!

I have now played two rounds and several driving range sessions. The weather in the UK for the last few weeks has been up in the mid 20's, so the fairways are fast with lots of run. Having said that I have hit some of my longest drives this year and a couple of drives ventured into areas of the fairways (and rough) not visited before. On average, I would estimate an overall gain of 5-10 yards but when hit flush this can increase to 15+ yards. The feel of the club is up there with the best (Epon AF-101), it really is very nice to hit, smooth and soft with lots of spring, you know when you have hit it on the mark as there is almost no reaction apart from the ball soaring down the fairway. Forgiveness, well I can still duck hook and did so on a couple of holes, no real bad slices. I usually draw/hook the ball and noticed the ball flight was a lot straighter than usual. The shaft is excellent and combined with the head makes this an exceptional driver. Yes, you can still hit dud shots with it and I did but overall this is the one for me. Is all the hype justified, I think it might be.

Picked up my Ryoma D-1 V spec 9.5 with Crazy Black 46 7.2 shaft last monday and to be honest was a bit hesitant to use it as I did not want to be disappointed with all the glowing reviews. Anyway, went to the driving range this afternoon, first shot, I hit a duck hook (which is my stock bad hit) second shot slightly better, this went on for several hits. After about 20 balls, I started to smile, this club needs to be dialed in and when you have worked out how to hit it the results are there to be seen, longer and more forgiving than any driver I have used. The bad shots are still there, I can still duck hook until the cows come home and I can still slice slice the ball but not as much. What was also unexpected was the feel of the club which is excellent and it is almost reminiscent of the Epon AF-101 in softness. The 7.2 shaft fits me like a glove and almost feels a bit softer than a stiff shaft should, I thought this would be the opposite with Crazy. In all, I am very excited about playing tomorrow and hitting a real ball on a golf course.
  22. Jamie Sadlowski's swing speed is 150 mph, he also uses a driver with 6.5 degrees of loft and 48.5 inches in length. He is also quite tall (5"11') which makes your swing speed even more impressive.
  23. To hit a 3 iron 260 yards, it must be pretty quick!
  24. Mainly where you would expect, bottom of face edge and sole but significantly more than usual. I was thinking maybe the density of the forging but then again, I just may be unlucky on this occasion.
