Not the same but played the 857ProTi which is suppose to be the brother of the 869. In a Bang SRVII component head of all things. Wonderful combo. The SRV is a low hitting head the 9 played like a 7.5 in TM. Deep bore (2") full insert at 45" tipped 1/2" S flex. Very very smooth. Still played a little loose so I tipped it another 1/2" perfect. Mid high trajectory and low spin (more of the head there). The 857 was a lot smoother than my 757. I would've/should've keep that combo but my Japanese rescue came along and I needde a heavy graphite so the 857 is now in my Rescue.
  3. Oh man, I had like 5 post notification replies in my email but now those "posts do not exist". Chris did you get the test run photo I sent? I tried to work it out on my computer so I could upload to gallery I ended up not knowing which pic I sent as a test. Don't post it yet.

I guess I have to retype this: But isn't it when you get taper shafts they are supposed to be constant weight anyway? The shorter irons are the same weight as the long irons even if they are shorter? Marketing tool?

Differences between the 950GH that I had from my RAC CBs and the 950 Weight Flows in my XBlades, and the Super Peenings I saw i a set of Maruman Exims? I need the answer before I pull the ones out of the X Blades.
  6. I used to be all Pro V all the way especially the X. The Pro Vs especially the Xs fit me well. I just didn't like that they felt the same on all shots, the good ones and the bad ones. I would be like "Wow, I think I caught that one." and be disappointed when I got to the fairway. The earlier models also had that "flyer over the green from the middle of the fairway from out of nowhere." that seemed to happen during important matches. That when I switched back to Srixon and Precept/Nike. I just wish the Prcepts had a bit more of the Titleist feel. I love that Titleist feel, the only "modern" ball that comes close would be the Srixon Hi brid and the A10.
  7. I like to experiment with Japanese balls once in a while. I can get grade AAAs really cheap with all the Japanese Tourists playing at the mountain/ravine course I frequent. I have been playing the TS X01 and X01s a lot lately. I still play the TS <ux> =U Tri extra dist and TS <uxs>=U tri tour as my "everyday" ball. I got a lot of the PRGR Trx, the new Kascos with the Silica tech, and the Xr05 to try next but hurt my shoulder and won't be playing for at least two weeks. Before I got hurt though the PRGR ball was up to par with the TS X01 in every category but I noticed the dimple design was very "old school". Lots of big dimples. I'll give a review on different Japanese premium balls when I get better.
  8. More pics of the SM490A pls!!! Back and Address. That's the closest I've seen to a GD Blade putter.
  9. The one I hit was deep face a little more than 400cc and closed. The stock shaft held up pretty well. Comparing it another Japan "Botique company", Akira, I liked the Fairlane better.
  10. The Fairlanes are good heads. I hit one about a month ago. It performed very well until I asked how much? :wah:

I played with one for a really long long long time 305cc Prolite 35X tipped 1" (notice the handle). That thing was so long. I played it with the first edition of the Pro V and drove a few par 4s (but that was 200lbs ago= wife+kid+50 on my own). I broke the shaft and upon recommendation put a YS6sx tipped an inch. Bad move the hook tendencies of the club came out. It plays exactly like an ERCII with no loud think at impact.

Thanks. My next question I guess would be. Do the DGS200s TS irons really come in 37.5 or is this measurement prior to grip? I'm asking because when I ordered my custom Honmas 10 years ago they mentioned that they measured without grips because the customer could request different grips.

He didn't win but can you go over anyway to get us some info on Zomo putters?
  14. I know those Srixon Blades keep calling. They've been in and out of being produced and having production stopped for the past 3 years. It is impossible to get feedback on them because nobody has them. The Fourteens look good as well. I'll try to do a search on those.
  15. T100? I guess thats a long way away. They are just closing out the T40 and the T60 is being released in a couple of months. They have to get a T80 out as well. I figure the T100 should be out in the US by 2006 unlessNike switches to TM style marketing :smile1: Nike Japan seems to have a mind of its own. Japan Nike 300 and 380 drivers were a lot better than their 275 and 350 /400 counterparts. They may never get released in the US.

I'll probably do something else then. I have been having success with a Six tipped 1 1/2" in an 9.5 R300 Tour. I have a 10.5 510TP I want to try an ultralight to try in it as well. I was looking at the YS5. It only comes in S but has a 3.5" PTS. I could probably take 2.5inches off and still get to 45.25 inches. Do you think taking the 2.5" off will stand up to a 105 to 110SS? Btw if you still remember me from GEA. I might be ordering a Solitaire from you soon. Just need to decide which loft. Can you PM me a quote on a Solitaire with a tour trac 80? Thanks

  19. I'm going to probably get a set of blades soon. I realized 3 years ago out of my 4 sets 2 were blades, 1 combo and a set of Pings. Now I have 5 sets of irons but no blades. The digging X blades looks like they might fit me. My no.1 set are the original TM300s which are known diggers. I guess that is why they fit me. I was just given a copy of Golf Gear vol.23 the one with the feature on Miura. I wish I could read Japanese. That being said the two sets constantly in the back of my mind that I have hit and have really liked were the Katana TM303s and the Honma Tour World Ps. Thank you for your Japanese connection on the Honmas. They were just a little more than what I was willing to spend. If I remember it would've come out to $1,500 shipped. My max on irons without wedges is $1,200. Even Ho's have to know their limits. I would love to find a set of either in slightly used condition at Japanese "grade A or AB" at a good price.

I noticed the Tourstage irons lengths are 37.75 with NS Pro and 37.5 with DGS200s both SW at D2. The 37.5 with DGS200s are kinda short for me. would want 37.75 at least. What should I do to keep the SW and overall weight down? I presume these are slightly heavy heads to have those SWs at those lengths. The only thing I can think of is TX Tours or switch to GP V50s the grip cap should add the 1/4" without adding to much weight right?
  21. Natto I can live with, it's Durian that makes me run for the door! My childhood town is famous for Durian. Locals say it tastes like heaven smells like hell. I still take it around once a month. I stick it in a personal freezer for a day to kill the smell first. Make sure there is nothing else in the freezer or everything even the water will smell like it
  22. Actually I have been tracking all your posts about these irons and waiting for the results before I got mine. Looks like i will be looking elsewhere aside from Mizuno.
  23. I have had to many problems with Mizuno U.S, talk about a pain in the butt, the headweights are all over the charts. I had to go with Japan for several reasons the Y stamp, the M stamp, the MP-27s. These are all D2 3-9 and D3 PW, with NSpro 950's that means the heads are made heavy. Mizuno-Philippines. They can get both US and Japan releases. I asked for 3-5/27s, 6-8/30s, 9&pw/37s. 6weeks. They haven't gotten back to me on the stamping and satin.
  24. Whatever happened to the Liquid Metal tech being licensed by Cleveland Golf? This was news a little under the radar around a year ago.
  25. Chris I was so wanting to see the Satins. I just found out from Miz local they could do the mixed set. They are still trying to figure out if they can do custom stamps and satin.
