  1. Randy, Tim here- I ended up sampling the C-1s w/out the muscle cut. Feel was great, softer than Mizuno, softer than Epon. Forgivness was also good. IMO it is right around ping i series like the i10 or the i5s. Heel shots are very sweet and toe shots got less of a thud than the MP57s. Distance on my misses are about avg 10 yard loss. Good overall club to look down at, but I'm really pleased w/my R7 forged irons. p.s. did you p/u that sc kombi putter I saw you sampling the other day?
  2. IMO from the face view it really looks like the titan driver from epon, (deep face) Question, does this guy replace the limited 901? or is it just an addon to the line?
  3. Its defiantly on my list of courses to play. thanks for the quick insight on the driver.
  4. Price drop and on ebay.
  5. I agree, yamaha is a great high end brand. I play their FWs specifcally the tour 17* impres. That is one solid head. IMO yamaha stuff is very high quality high end products which I wouldn't hesitate to purchase.
  6. Brian, I have the same feeling as you. I swing up to 118mph driver and I've even played the NS950s Regular flex. and I find that it is hard to load. I found this to be the result of all NS shafts except the 1150GHTour. Which feels like a 2x soft stepped DGS300. IMHO the NS shaft especially the 950 is harder to load... I find that I gotta really work to bring the clubhead in smoothly. Apposed to DG, and px, which kicks in pretty nicely... I think its the softer butt in the NS shafts. PX feels pretty solid and so does S400. NS fans will prob rip me for sayin it... but the 950 is IMO harder to swing than any other shaft on the market. Maybe its the flex point and how it relates to our swing. Tim
  7. I agree w/Blader. I've gone from shooting 150 one day to 80 only to realize its the dammed difference in my swing when I adjust everything for different club. My experience has led me to complete the same swing on all my clubs for full swings, w/the exception of the driver(but of course it is teed up, hit up on it ) ie. I can hit my 3 iron w/the same swing as my PW. I try to videotape myself and then watch my swings... go from short iron to long iron. I used to screw around w/hand position but that screwed up my shots; fat and thin shank and pull. Ideally all your shots w/all your irons should look the same w/only distance being the varying factor. Further (Like blader says; this is crucial to having a repeatable sound swing) Ball position, foot alignment and grip are what I change to work the ball. When I say grip, I use two different grips depending how I'm hitting that day. I use the interlock for more workability and consistency, I use the overlap when I want to get more yards. No matter what my left wrist always matches the leading edge of the club w/supination at impact. RE:Ball position I follow ben hogans ball position and stance for each club in his basic fundamentals of golf book. Hand position and swing are exactly the same save the ball position (cuz of the length of the club) and your stance angle(angle at which you hit that iron to attain a certain traj angle and dispersion area) For me I found that if I don't mess w/all that stuff(starting hand postition stance) and just try to hit a clean wedge shot w/whatever club I'm trying to hit... (5iron) my shots are almost of the time good misses or off by only a few yards. Stay away from altering your hand position and focus on a creating a repeatable swing for all your irons. I think that will help.
  8. As far as overall performance when it comes to drivers Tourstage Bridgestone IMO are the best drivers ever. JDM market, so far the longest I've hit is the new 701G w/the EV6 shaft. Ball speed and launch conditions are just amazing w/the new xdrives. Second longest, which I regret selling is the Epon Af101. But I still have my technity 460, never selling it.
  9. Hey G, Yeah there should have been a customs reciept... thats what I had when I shipped you the wedges. T
  10. my game is in the shambles right now, i think its the 950 shafts... kinda going way high on me, and the wind kicks my arse. I need the DGs low ball flight.. I'm prolly gonna go S300. cuz the px gets up on me fast but bores. good but I need help starting it low. brother still has the tours... he is playing almost every day, I'm prolly gonna let him keep those and I'm gonna take his money and order me a new set.
  11. Let us know how those shafts work w/the R7 heads, I already ordered my px flighted shafts for mine but just waiting to decide weather to go px or the good ol DG. - on the wedges... I also shanked a few on the 53 degree, I think its the shaft cuz even w/the 901 wedges I've got um in x100 too and I shanked a few... Never happens w/any other wedges, I don't have any other x100 wedge shafts. Also I bent those guys to 1flat so might wanna get that undone too. They are extremely extremely easy easy to bend, the iron is so soft. I think you might be able to bend it yourself. anycase hope you get in many rounds before your next trip to work. Cheers, T
  12. G, a friend of mine has the new matrix MFS iron shafts(graphite). They feel smooth, I don't know how much they weigh, played up in nike blades and they feel like PX weight. I get 10-15 yards more than DG shafts. Though I don' t know anywhere that sells um... can try ebay...
  13. Over the past 3 months or so I've had avg distance of <> w/ 107 avg ss. 278 yards TS701G EV-6 45.5 length= High launch draw shot is constantly predictable 270 yards TS901 EV-7 45 length= Med/High launch Consistant stratight/fade shot Both shafts are really low spin; sometimes I get 1900rpm and lower w/the 901 head and w/a good 13.6+ launch the buggar rolls a good 50+ yards when it lands. However I was telling T, I had a chance to recently hit the GD P9003 and I'd pick that shaft over any GD shaft. Matches perfectly for my swing... It is a cannon that feels like silk. I plan on p/u a 9003. T
  14. That is a nice phone T. The picture quality is great too. I envy JDM.
  15. I'm playing ev7 again, instead of the rombax x. It rolls more than the rombax, a welcome bonus as the ground is gettin firmer and winter is dying.
  16. Your right T, they look really clean. I like the look... take of the tp badge and I'd be sold.
  17. I'm playing the 950s stock in mine Geoff... they go really high but are very predictable. I've never tried the 750 but the 950 weight feels good w/this head... might wanna try the kb tour 90 like golfrules suggested. T
  18. Anyone play both? Differences?
  19. Thanks T- I'm still kinda confused about this new rule... (not that it matters much on my scores) Are manufactures making the 09 wedges grooves conforming to the 2010 groove rule? I know nike's new vr wedge already uses grooves that conform to 2010 rule. Another question basically the same one but it just helps me understand the business better... When did such name brand manufacs. stop making the "old grooves?" ie. nike's grooves on the 08 and 07 wedges were sharper and deeper than the 09s. Apparently the 08 wedges will be non-conforming but I don't know when 2010, 11? So I assume these beauties are conformin to the new groove rule? that would make them spin less than the 07 and 08 cgs being the old cleveland wedges will be nonconforming 2010...?
  20. Hey T, Do these wedges conform to the new groove rule?
  21. I saw Tad Fujikawa using forged iron at the sony... I believe they are hollow cavities in the iron.
  22. I don't play Hybrid but I've hit most of the usdm stuff. Adams pro gold w/matrix atlus goes lowest for me. Does not balloon at all. Other hybrids that push the ball low were the TS 08 x ut the Mizuno hi fli both driving irons w/steel shaft. Fourteen Drivning irons are always solid wind clubs.
