Titleist 591 protos
Since i didn't live in Japan, i don't know the price of these clubs in Japan, but in the USA, they were charging quite a bit for these irons.....im not sure if they were any good but they were rare in the USA and some JDM collectors wanted them. i owned many many sets of MR23s myself during that era.....i guess i was competing with Chris to scoop up the limited MR23 CB sets, i had 57 sets at one point, glad i sold most of them off.... And just because they are not in demand in japan and not selling on the forum doesn't mean that they are any good. Take Modart irons, the company is sound and the product is excellent but if you unwrap them, its a 70% loss

Titleist 591 protos
This is not a Titleist USA design, it is a japanese design that has the Titleist stamp because they paid a licensing fee to Titleist ( Accushnet ).

Titleist 591 protos
ayes, they were forged by Miura and yes they were coveted about 15 years ago....certainly not now, but i have been hoing long enough to know that these brought in good money back then. Titleist 591 protos
I rmbr those irons and they did have a presence on the jpga, if you look up the old japanese magazines that used to show the with for the masters, these irons will show up ! They were a coveted set at one time and demanded a premium.

I completely agree with that comment.....I was a member at Koolau about 20 years ago and it is a shadow of its former self......I love Turtle Bay (Palmer Course) but it can be tough when the wind is howling......Koolina is probably the easiest course to play when it is windy.....Kapolei is another good choice but have only played it a couple times since it has changed ownership.

Anyone try swapping out driver heads from a Haute Couture 7D shaft ?
Crazy Shafts are surprisingly thin at the tip, but the 7D shafts that i have used are normal tip wall thickness.

Modart CBC's Love or Hate?
Are they like the CNC milled Zodias ???? I find those very dense but you can really feel where the ball is going.....
-
J-Beam ZY-7 Prototype Driver
Thats a interesting design, it appears to move the Cog forward.....Hmmmmm i have a huge weight in the rear of my ZY11 right now and i seem to prefer that.....having all the weight up in the face makes for a very low spin / low launch driver......Jbeams weighting system allows for some pretty big changes.......i can adjust from D1-E2 (Although i am only manipulating about a 20g difference, and expect a 7 SW max difference, I am seeing a 11SW difference ???)
