  1. I just got myself a PRGR Egg 1 after reading how easy they are to hit long and straight. While I have no problems launching normal 8.5deg drivers, I wanted to fnd a driver that was easier to hit the fairway. Egg 1 is an easy head to launch and to get big drives even though it is a 7.5deg only model. Hits more like a 9.5 or 10 deg head in my opinion. They do have an M40 shaft ( SR flex ) offering which is targeted for 89 mph SS. Great sound and feel off the face even compared to the best of the best, like Epon. They also have the Eggbird driver in their line up which is targeted for the general player group. With more traditional lofts and even softer flexes available. Another interesting one is the Egg Impact with 43.5" / 205 g head.... I can just imagine this thing being a fairway finder. My first PRGR driver has really impressed me with the forgiveness factor. I feel that PRGR Egg series are the equivalent of Ping G series: More forgiveness and playability for all ranges of players. PRGR Egg drivers deserve more praises here on this forum!! Highly recommended.
  2. Wow! really like the stealthy look! looking forward to your review!
  3. Zero and Zen are truly legendary even within Epon's historical line up! and that headcover is uber rare! Someone get them fast! GLWS!!
  4. I kinda agree to Tomcat's idea here as dg s400 is a lower launching shaft. Also wondering about your SS. Not sure if you have access to a Mizuno fitting system at your shop. At your 6 iron SS, the recommendation for shaft flex will come out as like kbs tour x flex soft stepped one etc... I was at 89 mph last year ( this year down to around 85 :( ... ) and it was considered in between S and X for several different shafts. Also, Mizuno's fit system takes into account swing tempo and release timing along with other parameters so you could potentially end up in a whole different territory in terms of shaft flex.
  5. JDM Mizuno JPX EIII Forged already uses this blend of S25CM + Boron. I am guessing they are just releasing this in the States.
  6. Thanks! Yes, I will try and make best of what I have access to and figure out if GI clubs can benefit from a scoring perspective.
  7. Very interesting! I play mostly hard turf since it is so dry out here in Montana. Maybe a GI with thicker sole may not work so well? Hmmm...
  8. Bridgestone TXD70 is the Boron shaft which is supposedly the equivalent to Stinger. I believe the specs are closer to the first release/ion finish Stinger as opposed to the black finish Stinger.
  9. That Kai'li came with the xdrive 701R limited if I remember and indeed the real deal. "x5ct" is MRC's designation for the aftermarket spec shafts.
  10. Well it was not my best round. Missed so many short putts..( 3 and 4 footers!! ) it was really rediculous. Still managed to shoot 80 at a course I was not familiar with; so I guess I shouldn't be too disappointed. Shots and drives were not bad at all thanks to your tip and G30 driver. Looking to focus in practicing short putts for my next tournament. I feel I wasted 6 to 8 shots per round this weekend due to sloppy putting. Placed fourth in my flight which got me back my entry fee. :)
  11. Open for reasonable offers! Please note " REASONABLE " Happy to do heads only or shafts only. Thanks!
  12. Thanks Craig! I am really hoping I can! Such a small town here they put top three finishers of each flight in the local newspaper! :)
  13. Thanks! Yup... have switched clubs often in the past so I definitely know the honeymoon effect! :) Noted on the cross training. I should get back riding my road bike. Have a Titanium frame road bike sitting in the garage for a good 3 years now.
  14. Prices slashed to unbelievable prices!! NOTE: I am out of town from Sun Aug 3 to Wednesday Aug 6 so shipping may delay a bit.
  15. So 1st day at the Bozeman City Championship... Bridger Creek / par 71 . Scored a 76!! which is my all time best at this course. Front 9 : 2 Birdies / 4 Bogies nothing too terrible. Back 9: 2 Birdies / 1 Double / 1 Triple ... Double and Triple both came from par 3 Both results from a toe shot with my irons. ( 9 and PW !!! Gawd!! ) Also missed four 4 footers. Need to work on putting.. Mikey, I had snacks in my mouth pretty much the whole time. I think it really helped!! Had two water bottles and constantly drinking between shots. In addition, I did have a G30 Driver and 3 Wood which helped me a lot. I did not have any real mis-hits with the driver today. The thing is soooo automatic and straight it is unbelievable. I am going to see if the PRGR Egg woods can match the challenge! In any case, If I can keep up this score into tomorrow, I might have a chance to win my flight and possiblly fund my next set of GI irons. :) Need to go get some more trail mix for tomorrow!
  16. Thanks everyone for sharing your views and suggestions! I do realize that scoring well requires everything in your game and surrounding factors to come together. Equipment, player's physical and mental condition, course condition, weather etc... For now I want to see if GI clubs will actually show notable improvement on the scorecard.
  17. I was hoping for that too when I started the season with my Mizzy MP4.
  18. I also recently watched a very long advertisement on how to score better by feeding your brain with nutrition! It was pretty convincing. I will have to try this method. I have a local tournament this weekend so I am packing up with some trail mix or something to munch on during the rounds. Thanks for the tip!
  19. Thanks Chris, I am okay with whatever size head... Just trying to simplify my game and remove the frustration out of my rounds from reducing the occasional mis-hits with irons mainly on my approach shot. most of the time, I hit them fine and get on the green or on the fringe but occasionally ( 2 or 3 times a round ) thin or thick shot. I need to get rid of these to reduce a few shots. These RB247G sure do look nice! Do you think they are comparable to Ping G series in terms of forgiveness? Feel at impact would be pretty important for me as well.
  20. Just a bio break really. No lunch no snack. no beer on the course either.....
  21. Ego has definitely impacted my club selection in the recent years. It's time to let it go and put more focus on the game itself. I really want to go low!!
  22. Thanks! Yup, one concern that I have is that I may have less control with GI irons, but right now, I think I care more about making the game as easy as possible and not worry about "maybe the blades are not right for me.... "
  23. Thanks Chris, I have an Egg 1 driver , Egg Spoon and Egg i+ on the way. :) I think PRGR is equivalent of Ping in the US in that they are not afraid to release non-traditional innovations that provide additional forgiveness to us players. I like razor thin top line, minimal offset, small or mid size but more forgiving than Ping!! If someone can come up with this design. I'll be all over it! Oh, and it's gotta have buttery soft feel at impact! :)
