  1. Thanks guys!! Gonna be making slight adjustments to my set up. - The 46 deg RTX 4 is not forgiving enough to get full shot distance consistently. Going back to the PW in the ID BL set. - Just picked up a couple fo Buchi SP-301 driving irons. 21.5 deg and 24.5 deg. (Remember these? been looking for them for a long time since Buchi no longer make them) - Putting JBeam GFW 3W back as well as Romaro Type R UT. *** Grandista RSD 9deg / Loop GK Jbeam G-FW 13 deg / Loop GK Romaro Type R UT 18 deg / Crazy STP 85 Buchi SP-301 21.5 & 24.5 / shafts TBD but likely DG AMT PRGR IDBL 5-PW / DG AMT S200 Cleveland RTX 4 Forged 50 56 deg / DG AMT Tour White S200 Benock Blue Dragon II
  2. Had an away Men’s club match play event today. Was paired against a 10 hdcp. I’m playing to a 4 now. Had to give 6 strokes!! That’s a lot to over come!! We were All square to No. 5 but starting on No.6, things started working my way. Won 6 to 9 for a 4up at the turn. Gave away No.10 due to a 3 putt, halved No.11. From there, I took 12 thru 14 to finish the match. 6 and 4!! Felt really good!!! 3. Hi Folks, Here is one of my back up heads but this loft was not right for me. Grandista RS-D Driver Head Only 10 deg / 200g / Head Cover (unused) excellent used condition Face angle is neutral but to me looks a tiny bit open. My understanding is that they are all sold out of these heads and not making any more! Such great driver! Will ship worldwide. SOLD!! Thanks TSG!!

These were collaboration between Mizuno and Alpen/Golf 5 which is a big box golf chain in Japan. Super high bounce and a bit of a offset in the neck which seems to be the trend with wedge designs lately in Japan.

XXIO clubs are so popular in Japan. I kind of like where they are going with the new XXIO X series. Seems like a cross between Srixon line of products.
  10. Decided to give another go with the Yonex N1-CB... but this time with a lighter Modus 120 S vs the original stock 125 S. Had a couple of range sessions already and I feel I have better control and not have to strain through my swing so much. I think Modus 125 was just getting bit much. I hate getting older.... 😞 I decided that the AMT S200 in my Cleveand 588MBs were also a bit much shaft from a stiffness and weight ( on the shortener ones ) perspective so I picked up a set of Project X LZ shafts to try. When I tried the LZ shafts in the new Mizuno MP20 blades, they felt very good and I was hitting the ball very consistently. On a side note, those new Miura MB-101s sure look pretty! Must resist.. must resist!!

I had the chance to try the MC-501 when it was released... As the name suggests, Muscle Cavity is exactly how it plays. Looks like a blade but plays like a cavity. Some may say it's a Neo muscle back. I feel that the biggest difference in a modern bladed design vs traditional bladed design is the location of the sweet spot. I think it is a better fit for the cavity user over someone who is use to using a traditional blade. It's slightly longer heel to toe compared to say a MB-001 but only a tad. sweet spot is slightly larger than your traditional blades do you get a bit of forgiveness but you still need to be a decent striker of the ball to get the benefits. I think the MB-101 (which has not bee released yet BTW) will be a huge hit amongst Miura fanatics / traditionalists as well as others who have been seeking to upgrade their player's cavity and move up into more traditional blades. CB 301 I think was a good addition to the Miura line up. The super forgiving clubs from Miura in the past has been multi material and honestly when you buy a Miura, you kind of expect it to be fully forged carbon steel. So I'm glad to see they now have a full carbon steel forgiving CB.
  12. Problem with 105 are that they really mess up with the feel at impact. I was at a local shop to try the Mizuno shaft optimizer fitting with the new MP20 blades... they felt really nice ... my recommended shafts were: AMT Tour White Stiff or KBS Tour Stiff or Project X LZ 6.0 in that order. Was surprised no Modus shafts were in the recommendations. Based on the Optimizer results the AMT S200 in the Clevelands should be spot on. I hit em very straight... just Very very short.. will give it more time.
  13. This morning I had my first round in colder weather (43deg F ) And I have to tell you playing the Cleveland Blades was really hard!! These irons are a full club shorter than what I’m used to under warmer conditions and now with colder weather, 2 full clubs shorter. When 7 iron only carries 135 .... uhhhhh... no. very different game all together. I was going to use these over the winter in an effort to brush up my iron striking... but heck I’m not sure any more. Maybe the DG AMT are too spinny? Might try Modus 120 or Project X in these to see if I can get a bit more carry.
  14. Prices edited one last time before listing on the auction site!!
  15. Welcome to the blade party!! 🙂 I had Monaco Stiffs soft stepped once in my Shinagawa MBs previously but I'll be honest they did not feel that good. The Shinagawa MBs require either Modus 120 Stiff or Graphite. For best feel ( and if your swing speed matches... ) my very subjective opinion is that Modus 120 Stiff provides the best feeling. Trajectory wise, I wanted it a bit lower than the Modus 120 ... so I went to DG AMT S200 which I think is a good compromise between feel, launch and weight. So for Kyoei MBs my suggestion would be either the Modus 120 S or DG S200
  16. Man that Seven putter is such a steal !!
  17. plenty of used ones out on the market. Also TR500 or Nabla Tour might be good alternatives.
  18. Had my first round with the Cleveland 588MB / DG AMT S200. Shot a 74. Few iron shots pushed to the right. No misses to the left. Distance may be a bit shorter than the ID BLs... or maybe I'm just not hitting it in the true middle yet. But so far so good! Really like the feel when I do hit the middle!! Will continue using this for the off season.
  19. I just picked up some Project X 5.5 shafts.... Aren't these supposed to be low launch too? Only time I had these shafts were in a Mizuno MP Fli Hi 24 deg driving iron. I really liked that club.

I have a #4 TW-U Forged which are essentially the same as these TW-X heads. I found that when these are paired with the Vizard IB graphite shafts, they feel very good for a multi-material head. Size is compact like Victor says. Very very forgiving.
  21. Nippon Super Peening Blues are low. I've had Monaco Stiffs before and they felt boardy. I tried to love it because I absolutely think that bronze coloring is so cool! At the end, the shafts did not match my swing. But they were on the low launching side of things if I recall.
  22. Just had a great range session with my Cleveland 588MB / DG AMT S200!! I have the 4 iron in MB but decided to use a 588CB for the 4 instead. MB 4 iron is still scary looking to me!! Anyway, the ball went pretty much where I wanted for the shorter irons. Looks big and mid were much easier to hit than the full on S300. With a 47deg PW lofts aren’t meant for distance but consistency is really good!! Will use more of this set over the winter in an effort to improve on my iron striking!! Yay blades!!! ( minus the 4 iron ... )
  23. I've recently moved from Modus 125 to Modus 120 and I am much better off on most iron shots. If anything I would like my trajectory to be a bit lower so I will be testing out JDM DG AMT S200 soon. At 52 years of age... straight DG S200s are just too heavy for me especially on the mid to long irons. Short irons I can still handle. So the AMT model should be just perfect. The weight on an AMT S200 #4 and Modus 120 S #4 is actually right about the same.

Have not been much of a wedge guy but I really like the Miura S-01 and S-01 Tours. Currently also using Cleveland Japan RTX 2.0 Precision Forged wedges which were designed in collaboration with Hideki Matsuyama. Very sharp looking, ver soft and very spinny! The shape blends in nicely with the rest of the irons. Probably not the most forgiving though... Will also be exploring Cleveland Japan RTX 4 Forged wedges soon. I think these will be more forgiving.
