Very very good head this one. I had three RPM heads at one point. 2 x 9 deg.... and a 10 deg... the 9 deg were so low launch I had to be very careful with the shaft selection. At the end 10 deg for me was the winner!
  2. LOL!! I heard Mizuno USA's website/ordering system got hacked about a week ago with some ransomware 😞 Since my iron order had not been placed yet I decided to have them tack on a 49 deg gap wedge to the order!! Standard lead time is supposed to be 6-8 weeks but I fear that it might actually be significantly longer than that. Sigh....
  3. Nice!! I have a Syncagraphite Loop GK ( low-mid launch ) shaft in my '16 RS-F. The stock shafts are a bit weak to flex. They did have a M-46 (SX) back then so if you like the stock Diamana profile you might be able to find a used one. My recommendation from the more recent Diamana are the D-Limited. They are so smooth. I have the D-Limited in my Ping G425 Max and for the first time I actually had to loft up to 10 deg to get decent launch. As for he RSF, I don't have nearly the swing speed as you so I did not have to turn down the loft setting. PRGR Forged Irons used to be one the best JDM irons, the newer models do not reflect how good they used to be. TR500, ID BL and Nabla Tour are probably the top 3 PRGR Forged irons that I would recommend. Haven't tried the Miura Forged PRGR 00 from last year but they are still quite expensive as you can imagine. I also recently got a set of PRGR L.E.D wedges ( Thanks to the recommendation from Supo!! ) to go with my TR500 irons and they have an absolutely stunning shape. I just got them re-shafted last night so I will get to hit them soon!!
  4. Thanks to all for your input. So after going back and procuring a couple of the PRGR forged legends ... ID BL and TR500 I am starting to feel like these forged irons are not forgiving enough for me. I will still play them from time to time just to enjoy the looks and feel of them.... but I don't think they will help me with my scoring needs. I re-assessed my bag set up and taking another leap into an even more forgiving set up. I just got fitted and ordered some Mizuno Pro 225 irons last weekend. Looks very decent at address and feel is very decent and commendable for a non Carbon Steel head. It is very forgiving and long(er) due to its strong loft. My set up will be: DR Ping G425 Max 10* 3W Epic Max 15* 3U Mavrik Pro 20* 4U Mavirk Pro 23* 5U Apex Pro 26* IR Mizuno Pro 225 7-PW 30* to 44* WG Cleveland RTX4 Forged 50* & 56* This is the highest count of woods I've ever had in the bag... and only 4 irons!! Sounds crazy right?! πŸ™‚ Due to the global shortage of shafts and grips, it may be a while until I get my irons but I am really looking forward to trying this set up to see if forgiveness can actually lower my score further. ( my current score average is about 75 to 79 on a typical round )
  5. I currently have the ID BL and also have the TR500 and don't notice and back sticking out. I had the Seven SCs all last season and did not notice the back side sticking out at address either. I am really surprised to hear about the Seven CB CNC having this issue.

    oh my!! πŸ™‚
  7. EZone MB and RS5 Hybrid 4U are sold.
  8. Now where would I go find a set of Browns?? πŸ™‚ I think they are near extinct from this universe at this point. 950GH R will still be around when I am ready.... I have a stray Crazy STP Iron 85 shaft that I might use. They felt pretty good in other forged heads.

I think I read somewhere that Orion heads are Shinagawa grind. (might be wrong) My Seven Shinagawa MBs has a very similar shape. Still my favorite shape iron EVER. As you say, the perfectly shaped pointed toe is sexy. Not too pointy and not too rounded. I've considered getting the Closer CB/MB combo at one point too. beautiful irons indeed.
  10. Found some used LED 52 and 57 to go with the irons. Woohoo! The PRGR bag will now look like this: 2016 RS-F 10.5 / Loop GK TR500 3-PW / SP Red L.E.D 52, 57 / SP Red Gold's Factory T102 Removing the fairway wood and going with a 3 iron. I'll need to set up the 3 iron with a shaft that'll help with the launch. πŸ™‚ Haven't put a 3 iron in my bag in a really long time!! Should be interesting!
  11. If you are talented enough, I guess you could adjust your stroke to match the putter? πŸ™‚ Most of my putters I own now have a toe hang of 42 to 45 deg which is similar to the spec I was fit for at Benock Tokyo. These blades are beautiful to look at and work reasonably well... but because of their compact size, they are not the most forgiving. If I played more regularly, I think these putters would be fine, but when you only get out once a week, different story. While I do not own them any longer, I do think that I putted better when I used the Evnroll ER-2 (mid mallet) and Scotty Phantom X 5.5 (neo-mallet) the last couple of seasons. Besides the stability, the larger heads seemed to provide larger sweet spots which is probably what most amateurs (like me) benefit from more so than a just putter design that matches your stroke tendency. This year, I am eyeing on the new Odyssey TriHot 5K to see if they actually bring mallet like stability and forgiveness in a blade putter. Oh and I recently picked up an old Yonex Ezone EZM-001 which is a heel shafted "L" shaped mallet ( Scotty Del Mar type ) which should be completely unfit for my stroke, but I still like to take it out for a spin from time to time.
  12. I would recommend these to someone who struggles with slices. You can still work the ball but the natural tendency is a draw with these heads. I also still have the original 950GH HT shafts in R flex with the stock grips if anyone is interested.
  13. Making some changes to my bag (again πŸ™‚) 1. 2018 PRGR RS Forged 5-PW / SS III shafts Stiff Could pass for new. All Stock. I only took it out for one range session. For multi material irons, very nice feel at impact. Super forgiving and good distance. Not much offset and compact head. γ€€$600 + actual shipping Paypal net. 2. Tourstage 2012 GR Forged 3-PW + P/S + S (10 heads) head only 9/10 with some tiny spot rusts on face from normal usage. Only minor dings found. Very good condition overall. Love the sole grind on these heads. Mid-size and shape of the face reminds me of Ping Eye2 irons but with less offset. Very forgiving but made with one piece forged carbon steel. Loft and lie are standard. $250 + actual shipping Paypal net.
  14. I've been on the Sun Mountain bandwagon pretty much exclusively. I lived in Montana so it was sort of a local company for me. I still think they make the best waterproof bags. Obviously nothing to brag about but for me waterproof bags are essential for playing in the winter months. Been tinkering on the thought of getting a PRGR bag since I have a set to go with it but haven't found a design that I like yet.

Those are very nicely taken care of. Other used SUS316 on the market look like crap :) Problem for me with nice flawless irons like that is that its too nice to put in play. I'm too worried about putting scratches and nicks. 😞 So these days I am using more moderately beat up stuff. GLWS!!
  16. Actually my 2nd bag.... I intend rotate the sets regularly. My Primary has a bit more focus on forgiveness. DR: Ping G425 Max / Diamana D-Limited 3W: Epic Max 15 deg / Diamana D-Limited 3U, 4U Mavrik Pro / Diamond Speeder HB, UST Lin-Q HB 5-PW: '12 Tourstage GR Forged / Project X LZ 5.0 AW/SW: '12 Tourstage GR Forged / Project X LZ 5.0 PT: Benock Blue Dragon II
  17. Yes the LED definitely have my interest. Getting harder to find, though.
  18. Update on my "mostly" PRGR bag.... RS5 fairway replaced with Epic Speed 4w. Unfortunate but I enjoy hitting the Cally more. TR500 irons are very smooth and soft at impact. May have to do a head to head against the GR Forged. TR500 I feel has a smaller sweet spot compared to the Tourstage GR Forged. I lose more distance with the TR when I miss the center compared to the GR. I need to go hunt down some PRGR Wedges. DR: PRGR RSF Proto πŸ€/ Loop GK 4W: Callaway Epic Speed / Loop FW6TS 4-PW: PRGR TR500 / NS Super Peening Red AW/SW: Cleveland RTX4 Forged / NS Super Peening Red PT: Gold's Factory T102 Prototype
  19. My TR500 just got SP Reds. They feel really good. The SP Reds give a sharper feel through impact compared to a Modus 120. I got Regular flex and they actually work well for me. I don't feel the need for a Stiff.
  20. yea... I can agree to those graphs and where the Modus 120S is positioned. 120 is an outlier when it comes to CPM. They are so soft compared to others.
  21. Thanks for posting your test data!! Glad to see that you were able to find what works for you. I am surprised that 115X and 120X were similar for you. My understanding was that 115 were a lot more stout than the 120 series. Modus 120X CPM is supposed to be really close to the Modus 105S My experience with the Modus 120 S is that it is comparable to other R shafts ( from a flex perspective that is ) Anyway... my desire to try the 115 has diminished for the time being as I am switching to Regular shafts in my irons and to my understanding, Modus 115 do not come in Regular flex. Project X LZ 5.5 were my gamers but I just reshafted my '12 Tourstage GR Forged to 5.0 shafts and they are further soft stepped x 1 . For my PRGR TR500 I just installed a set of SP Red in R1 flex also soft stepped x 1 . Previously I'd thought that these regular flex shafts will do me more harm than good ... but this time around, I feel that they are going to allow me to swing easier with my irons thus improving my accuracy. I test them out today after 3 weeks of near by ranges being closed due to snow!! Fingers crossed!! πŸ™‚
  22. Happy New Year All! Last year I diligently kept track of all my round stats. So now I can set goals for improving them in the coming season! My golf stats goal for 2022!! 2 putts or better: 92% -> >95% GIR: 56% -> >60% Driving Accuracy: 68% -> >70% Score Average: 77.5 -> <75 From a play perspective, I need to spend more time practicing around the green shots. Green side bunker shots need to get a lot closer to within 1 putt zones. As for equipment, I need to try and stick to a single set for my actual rounds. Obviously I'll still play around with other sets occasionally for fun. What are all your golf goals this year? πŸ™‚
